I used to think UA-cam was easy before I started a UA-cam😅 UA-cam thought me a lesson. Patience. You will need a lot of it on this app. One thing is for sure I will not give up. I will keep posting

I recorded a rambling intro video for my new channel that basically talks about what my new channel will be about instead of just starting in with the actual content that my channel will feature. I don’t even think it passes muster as a proper trailer video. This has convinced me to stop, delete everything, and begin again but this time with a better strategy. I’ll come in stronger from the very start. Thank you!

I agree with you. I have been on here for 15 months(tomorrow) and have 75 videos but only have 20 subscribers and 14 of those have just been in the last 3 months. I am going to try these steps she outlined to see if I can't grow and get monetized finally.

How can creative channels attract and engage viewers without focusing on traditional 'solve problems'? Is there an alternative approach you’d recommend for channels focused on creativity rather than problem-solving?
I have the same question. I follow a channel about a guy who retired and he talks about cooking, decluttering, self reflection, etc, monetized in a matter of months and has 56K subscribers.
I think people also want to be inspired to live a better life… so that IS solving a problem! Helping someone get through a pain point that they have is very needed! 😊

Laying out a structured plan over four weeks to develop content ideas and strategize growth sounds incredibly effective...once you actually just do it!. Seriously though, I can see how this kind of preparation can really set a solid foundation and potentially speed up the success of a new channel; I am only one video in my channel, but I will definitely be implementing this.

You make the entire youtube process crystal clear! Would you start a brand new channel? Or, use a channel that had originally been cleaning videos, then switched to homesteading...but obviously views werent great, altho i do have a 36k view video there....if im planning on continuing the homestead/cooking from scratch/putting up food niche?
The PROMOTE FEATURE where a channel has to pay UA-cam to advertise (aka "promote") each video, It Looks like it has NOW become close to impossible to just get subscribers via good old school SOLID tactics such as 1. Good valuable content 2. Very good editing 3. Titles and Thumbnails. Those are so basic but NOW UA-cam also has to make their MONEY. Looks like UA-cam is nudging people to use the PROMOTE Feature. Everyone starting a new channel that is NOT about wearing revealing clothing or goofing around with your pet or gossip....GOOD LUCK
I share your thought. I realize it's because it is so much more competitive now and way more people than years ago but it seems like this is the case no matter what platform you go on. I make and sell books on Amazon KDP and 12 years ago when I first started it was great. Now like here, you only seem to make money from sales if you pay first. This is very discouraging for smaller channels and book sellers. But I guess we have to just keep going....

Can you make a video on how to technically be monetized. Do you need to start a company that has a tax id first or can you start off and receive money as an individual with just your SIN? I know you have to turn on monetization first and wait for a code to be sent in the mail, but can you talk more about that and the order of things? If you are monetized and waiting for you code, should you wait to upload your next video so you don't loose out on the coming monetization for that?
