The way IGP interacted with the animals in the beginning was so cute. Made me preemptively sad for the inevitable turns this would soon take. Then I imagined IGP going to his local zoo and being able to help behind the scenes, adoring the animals and being able to pet them like in the game, and that made me happy again haha

@IGP nah, man. I appreciate YOU! And you replied! And I screenshot td thst and made it my phone background just to give myself a laugh or smile. Honestly, genuinely, your videos have got me through some really awful stuff, and idk where I'd be without having your videos to enjoy and laugh at and honestly just make me feel like I have something familiar and comfortable to end my nights with when nothing else really fit that mold. I'm seriously so glad you've done so well for yourself because I know, at least for me, you've sometimes literally been a life saver in the darkest of times. Zoochosis is a real thing. It happens with animals at zoos with poor enrichment. Think a tiger pacing back and forward nonstop. They basically get bored to the point of developing stims, obsessive compulsive actions and which can range from odd behavior to violent tendencies.
@@slimothyjames4577homo erectus and early homo sapiens already where violant... also cimps are pretty violant ... Probably has to do something with our brain and social structure
So does that mean animals having zoocosis is a sign of a bad zoo? Or is it their exercise? A zoo I used to go to had a cheeta exhibit where you could race in front of of the cheetah with a light that goes as fast as it’s tops speed and sometimes the cheetah would dart across as well is that zoocosis or was it just playing?
11:38 Zoochosis is a real symptom of behavioral repetitive actions, its unfortunately a response to the animal slowly deteriorating, mentally and behaviorally, as animals aren't meant to be stuck in a small area for the rest of their lives; much like how humans in solitary confinement will also have a slow but sure detrimental affect to their mental health.
@@thelordofthelostbraincellspretty much, just for animals, especially in Zoos, something about the factors of too many people interacting with them, not enough space as well as social interaction deprivation from animals of their species makes them, well crazy to say the least.
@@thelordofthelostbraincells yeah it is. Its sad for sure, and it's why many people should question the ethical concerns of animals in Zoos, Zoos themselves will obviously have a bias in whatever they claim is good for the animals. The best thing for said domesticated wild animals, is to place them in animal reserves, as they provide the right environment for them to have enough space, interact with their species and most importantly, be able to avoid people. It's very detrimental for wild animals to be constantly interacting with people, in ways we have yet to study. There are some benefits to Some zoos for some animals, the more social an animal, typically they better they do with people. But on average, it's best to respect animals space and allow them to be themselves.
One of my favorite things IGP does is sometimes when he's shocked, he just goes quiet and looks around slowly, like he's actually in the game :) Always makes me laugh.
Remember folks. Never approach animals you are unfamiliar with handling. Especially ones that are big and have spiney protrusions emerging from recently torn and necrotic flesh.
I'm so glad you figured out how to pacify and heal the creatures! I knew I saw in the details of the documents that this was possible and that the infected animals were mimicking the symptoms. This game is actually a bit better than people give it credit for.
I thoroughly enjoyed your video! You actually figured it out. I never knew you could cure the already mutated ones bc ur the only playthrough I've seen that's done it. I liked all the ending options I feel like they really wanted to go more into the story and have more stuff involving the mother and side characters, but with the passing of the screenwriter that really made it difficult. Still for what they had it was stull fun!
Ive watched 2 others play this. NONE of them have understood the game as well as you have. And they both got the "bad" ending right off the bat, and then were disappointed with how short the game was because they essentially skipped everything... So i just want to say Thank you for being so thorough with your playthroughs and actually figuring shit out
It is interesting that while big publishers are just on this 'remaster' and 'remake' cycle right now, you have smaller devs/indie devs making unique and interesting games like this. Yeah, they may not have the highest fidelity graphics, but they are still unique and put together so well that they end up being so much better. Thanks for the playthrough IGP, will have to check it out and see the other things the game has to offer.
@@theblackchao Eh, depends on if you are seperating the remake, hybrid remaster (adds something more than just new texture/lighting/denser foliage), and basic remasters. Remakes I don't count as they generally rework the whole game, mechanics, feature, and sometimes even adjust the story, rather than just splash some new paint on it. Hybrid Remasters like many of the JRPG 2D hybrids they are making I don't mind as I either didn't get the chance to play them when younger, or it looks much better. Basic Remasters are the ones I don't like. Where all they do is slap a new lighting system, maybe add new processing features (FSR/DLSS), and new/higher res textures. This is especially ones I dislike when it hasn't been more than 10 years, the changes don't really matter, and they just end up pulling older cheaper versions so they can resell it for a higher price again.
This new format of uploading the entire game is definitely cool and I can definitely put this at night and watch it in one sitting while I get ready for bed loving it!
I can see a lot of comments saying things like "it's not finished" or "this game sucks" etc etc. but apparently the main guy that was making the game died, and they wanted to release it as quickly as possible after he passed, which is why it's in the current state it's in. Once it fully releases it'll more than likely get updates to the story and mechanics and big fixes and the like
@C-Rage If I bake you a cake that sucks but tell you my next one will be better, does that make my first cake better? What you said is true, but call shit like it is. This is underwhelming.
IMO its kinda insulting they put it out in the current state and slapped the "in memory" on it. Litterally they're like "Here! *This* was this guy's last work!" His death should have delayed them finishing it, but now his last work's first impression is a mess of a game that feels like a demo with lost potential.
@@probablykevin22 No but that shows you're willing to at least put in the effort to be better. The same goes here, giving these guys time will allow them to be better. Sure releasing it while it's rough around the edges might've been a bad decision but maybe they just wanted a load off their heads to mourn the guy's loss and they'll pick it back up when they feel ready.
@@probablykevin22I don't see the need for people to be so unreasonably mad about this game though. As if this game was a $70 triple-A failure, when it's just an indie game with a unique approach to the horror genre. The price tag is a little high for what's available, so I can understand asking for a refund in that regard. But it's kind of like seeing a Karen at Starbucks talking to the manager about an employee because they forgot to give her extra caramel drizzle on her macchiato, kind of unreasonable.

Emperor penguins (and most other types of penglings) don’t have any natural predators on land, so they have no particular fear of humans. And when they’re exposed to humans regularly (such as when being cared for in a zoo), they’re pretty receptive to friendship and pets. 33:17
Game is janky, Ai voice acting (Correction bad voice acting), and and all the endings are pretty mediocre. It's a great idea that wasn't executed very well.
Because it's just not that good, I spent the first hour of gameplay learning how to play and I still had questions about how to do things. I was hoping for more horror but that didn't happen
This is so weird bro Around an hour ago i saw an article talking about "New zookeeper horror game devs say there are 28 seperate storylines that all lead to different endings" Then you release this Its freaky but cool cant wait to watch the video! Love you IGP❤

For a second I thought the first death after not signing was canonical, and that the real protagonist was the Colonel Sanders guy making his next batch of chicken with that guys remains.
You can tell that losing their screenwriter during development probably REALLY hurt this game. The pacing is all over the place and you can just feel that things aren't supposed to be the way that they are. Alexander was probably the one with the vision, and without that the cracks started to form and well... this is what we got. It's not a bad game, but it's a far cry from what we were promised and what it could have been.

Honestly I’ve been loving seeing how everyone goes about this game. It’s such a good game gameplay wise even if it wasn’t entirely up to the hype. And the scripted encounters after making the medicine really takes away from the scariness especially the boss fights because I just feel bad for the animals I and others can’t save due to a lack of understanding and lack of preparation that the game provides as optional. Anyways love your playthrough IG your videos are the only thing keeping me from entirely losing my attention span. If you read this far thanks for listening to me ramble on about nothing.

< 2:40 I've seen 3 different playthroughs by now, and I have NEVER seen this cut scene. Is that because you took too long to sign? LOL I've also never seen someone even question why you're getting a meat delivery (before the body comes out) or that the kangaroo could be invisible. Also, just to let you know, you're also the first one I've seen that opted to fully cure the animal and not kill them, so rest assured, I was not yelling at you while watching. :P Glad you showed a bunch of different endings, too. I hadn't seen most of them. Also, the question near the beginning you were going to ask but didn't: no, this is nothing like being a real zookeeper.
I feel like they should've released this not as a full game but as a demo, it just feels that way, thw game idea is great ans has a lot of potential but the way they handled it wasn't good
Agreed. But it sounds like one of their main project leads passed away during production. They probably lost direction, and just polished what they had so far and released it.
It really does feel like a promising demo, not a full release. More story, better pacing, draw it out a little (show the family, have an animal that eats meat and make that part of the routine before the hard turn into horror, etc), little bit more polish on the instructions (the game is there, but I keep seeing people make the same mistakes because they just don't know what's going on or what is expected of them), and it could have been phenomenal. Makes me hope this one does well enough to let them do an upgraded "Zoochosis 1.5" and see their game fully realized.
I feel like early access is more fitting, gameplay loop is complete, but some things need more work/ aren't implemented yet. (Ex: transformations like we see in the trailers, dialogue syncing to captions, better dialogue triggers, more clear tutorial explanations)
They should've made it where the game ends early if you have the parasite where you mutate. To continue the game you remove the parasite but risk yourself getting eaten by the mutated animals, could be added but new endings needa be made.
I love the fact that there's signs saying 'Scars are a sign of infection' which means those animals are gonna mutate, but IGP decides to ignore that even though some animals have scars or as IGP says it, wounds
Seeing IGP enthusiasm & excitement getting to pet the Animals, is really wholesome. This why you're my fav professional gamer. Well you get paid for playing games, so its arguably that you're a professional. Btw, sorry for not able to join your live yesterday, but I did joined at the beginning for few minutes. I'll watch the replay after finish this video :)
$100k a year for a zookeeper is INSANE. The average is $50k, and that's on the high end! To be a zoo keeper you typically have to have a degree in some form of animal study; you work 7 days a week, holidays, all weather conditions; dirty, grueling physical labor, PR is garbage, YOU have to handle the worst of the visitors, and people will think of you as no more than an animal prison warden. Your average pay will range from $10-18/hr. It's a job you only go for out of passion, because the expectations placed on you, investments you make just to be there, only to be severely underpaid, is awful. Also, IIRC zebras are the most dangerous animal for zookeepers to handle, causing more injuries than elephants and big cats! ETA: the NDA thing is laughable. NDA's cannot be used to cover up illegal activity or prevent whistleblowing. I'm entirely certain an NDA would not be enforceable if you're grinding HUMANS into food for a monstrosity that could escape and go on a rampage lol that's a hell of a public threat...
Also it’s $100k in 1991. Which translates to about $231,000 a year. Which if you work 40 hour work weeks for 50 weeks in a year then this guy was being offered roughly $115/hr by today’s standard.
From what I can tell the $100k wage is just a bait, like the premise is that they entice people in with this crazy high wage then inject them with the parasite and feed them to Mother by the time their shift ends, then just rinse repeat without paying anything. The NDA was just a detail used to justify taking the person's phone, because by the time all the sinister details are revealed they're already locked inside the zoo and can't do anything about it. If the person survived then sure the NDA wouldn't be enforceable, but like I said it's very unlikely the person would survive the night anyway
In regards to the NDA thing, I fully agree. Although, I think Doc's position was that he was taking advantage and manipulating a vulnerable person. It being an actual NDA never mattered because Doc was planning on killing you regardless
honestly im just really glad that someone actually tried to "treat" the mutated animals every other video from everyone else i follow they all do the exact same thing EVERY RUN they do to see all the new animals and they just lethal injection all the mutated animals instead of doing ANY of the stuff mentioned in the notes they find it was so frustrating thank you for your hard work!

Okay, the rapid fire of endings was funny. I was excited for this game to come out, not the type of game I'd be good at playing, but good thing I knew my favorite youtuber was gonna play it. I was so happy to hear you could save all animals including the infected ones
The attention to detail with the animals are actually crazy. They don’t all look exactly the same, especially with the Giraffes since their spots are unique to them, like finger prints with people.
This is probably the millionth time you got this comment but: on the white board it says one of the bases is on US Outpost 31. Fun Fact: that is the outpost from The Thing! Maybe Mother is a Thing. Either way, cheeky reference! Love it
Every time you get attacked by a mutated creature, it progresses your infection. The goal is to complete as many of the tasks as possible before your infection reaches the maximum stage. Every time you get attacked, your time gets shortened.

Unlike a lot of other games, this one has as a feature "learning on the job". For instance, Doctors doesn't explain about lethal darts. You only pick that up in a journal entry from another worker, and in general you're not likely to remember that. I've watched 4 others play this game, and everyone messes up the first one or 2 on their first playthrough until they get a pattern going. You should be proud of yourself, brother!
Dude thanks so much for saying :') appreciate ya
@IGP nah, man. I appreciate YOU! About 6 months ago, I left a comment on one of your videos letting you know this year has been awful for me and the one thing I could always count on was watching your videos to make me laugh in the worst times of my life so far.
You should really be proud of yourself for everything you do and have accomplished!
@IGP i just thought it was funny. I love your content
Ads are sometimes annoying with most UA-camrs but IGP does it so well that you don't even mind. Kinda fun actually
My favorite one was when he had a Surfshark sponsorship while playing that one Dino horror game and he was literally recording it mid game with the utahraptor roaming in the kitchen, so he was whispering and stopping to gasp and stuff. That was so well-executed.
@@CorruptedEvangelist lmao exactly!
43:17 Hey guys? NDA's aren't there to allow crimes to happen, Mr. BEAST is proof of that with his latest lawsuits.
A lot of companies or businesses that do illegal things still have their employees sign an NDA anyway hoping the employees are too naive or scared to see if the NDA stops them from reporting anything illegal without getting in trouble. It’s a fear tactic, “we’ll fire you and then ruin your life by taking you to court over breaking the NDA”
NDA can be ignored by the whistle blower act so when it comes to illegal activities the protagonist could have sued
Oh yeah an NDA is void in that regard actually
@@NsPlayz-games That's only when it comes to state secrets, to my knowledge. Classified intel. Unless this zoo is a top secret government research program, it's not exempt to abuse basic constitutional rights and avoid legal consequences.
@@NsPlayz-gamesiirc the whistleblower act has nothing to do with NDA contracts. By definition NDAs cannot force a party to withhold information about illegal activities. Overall you are correct but the whistleblower act isn’t involved on this one.
I was lmao at him freaking out when the giraffes were coming at him. Like, you're holding the feed bucket, of course they're pumped. You just became their best friend. It's the same as when the cat hears the can of cat food open and comes racing across the house.
But also, giraffes are very aware of their legs. They're not nearly as clumsy as they look like they should be. Unless they perceive you as a threat, or get spooked by something else, you're not going to get stomped.

How can you not care so much for the penguins? They're penguins! They must be protected at all costs!

Zoochosis is a real thing. It happens with animals at zoos with poor enrichment. Think a tiger pacing back and forward nonstop. They basically get bored to the point of developing stims, obsessive compulsive actions and which can range from odd behavior to violent tendencies.
To add to this, there's the idea that mankind's removal from the natural world is resulting in humanity experiencing zoochosis.
@slimothyjames4577 that's intesting and kinda scary as hell 😅

Basically very similar, you just slowly lose your goddamn mind
@@thelordofthelostbraincellspretty much, just for animals, especially in Zoos, something about the factors of too many people interacting with them, not enough space as well as social interaction deprivation from animals of their species makes them, well crazy to say the least.
@@InVinoVeratas that's actually torture.
Remember folks. Never approach animals you are unfamiliar with handling. Especially ones that are big and have spiney protrusions emerging from recently torn and necrotic flesh.
Unless you have a syringe gun loaded with toxicatus blablablatus or whatever the fuck that shit was called xD
I'm so glad you figured out how to pacify and heal the creatures! I knew I saw in the details of the documents that this was possible and that the infected animals were mimicking the symptoms. This game is actually a bit better than people give it credit for.

ive always deadass loved how IGP puts effects over his voice recording to submerge him further into the game’s environment for all the recordings.

To be fair though, a lot of fans are asking for them, although they do remake the wrong ones usually lol

Seems fine to me @@probablykevin22
@@probablykevin22 No but that shows you're willing to at least put in the effort to be better. The same goes here, giving these guys time will allow them to be better. @@probablykevin22I don't see the need for people to be so unreasonably mad about this game though. As if this game was a $70 triple-A failure, when it's just an indie game with a unique approach to the horror genre.

Emperor penguins (and most other types of penglings) don’t have any natural predators on land, so they have no particular fear of humans. And when they’re exposed to humans regularly (such as when being cared for in a zoo), they’re pretty receptive to friendship and pets. 33:17
This game got a lot of hate and I still don’t understand why, it’s really good imo

I mean the game just released, I would give it like a month or two and see if they fix them by then
Because it sucks.
Because it's just not that good, I spent the first hour of gameplay learning how to play and I still had questions about how to do things. I was hoping for more horror but that didn't happen

@20:57 "Where should I shoot you" and he headshots a giraffe, LMFAO!!

Ayyyyy, another IGP unload, lets go. I've been counting the seconds you play this game, because I know for a FACT, this would be good.
When he said “what up Katie”, I replied “nothing much, you?” 😂😂

I don't know how this man manages to miss soooo much with how many games he plays like this. I almost had a stroke watching him miss things so many times. Still fun as hell to watch his videos.
IGP's concern for the animals adds an extra layer of panic, too.
The game isnt really good in teaching either. A lot is trial and error and wether you read all the log entrys.
@@lexa2310 There are 2 logs though that say explicitly that a chemical was made to save the animals. and he reads them in full and does not pick up what they mean... i think he was rushing when he doesn't have to rush, causing critical failures in understanding the game. @@NebulousArray my friend, did you watch the video? I constantly talked about curing them based on the notes I read, tried to use blood but didn't realize I wasn't supposed to put them in the bin, which was never explained I just need to have it, and then eventually figure it out and cure them.
I'm all for feedback but what you're saying is literally incorrect lol
You just inherently know how every new game works before playing because you have played a video game before? That's admirable.
Listen if I could give myself the ability to be way better at paying attention while talking, cure my ADHD, etc I would do it and I'm sure I would miss less things in the videos to make you happy lol
MAN. You made some connections I wouldn't have in a panic. Scary games sort of shut my reptile brain down. You did great! Especially on a first playthrough.
12:46 wow, what a "zebra"
This is the first guy that ive seen actually figure it out on video, this is absolutely awesome
