I love the enthusiasm and positive energy in each and every video. Thank you for all the effort you put into every video, I enjoy your channel very much.
I was exactly in your situation earlier this year. I am happy that you aren't afraid of this temporary inconvenience and will use this down time to re-energize. Good luck and keep these awesome video coming :)
I used to be afraid of things. A lot in fact. Something snapped inside my brain about five years ago and I am now basically fearless. I like to tackle things head on and be positive about their outcomes. I've found that when I do that, I grow as a person. Thanks, man! Cheers!
I have the white one open heart, and I love it even getting compliments about it, and you don t fuck Anny buddy off like with a 10.000$ Swiss Watch :) PS. I bought mine for 190€ one year old on Ebay it s like new
I have the SARY057, and I really like it. I do wish that it had the 6r15 though. I wear the watch all the time, and it is a great watch for work and casual environments.
We're opposite twins! I have the black dialed version of this watch and the sarb035. My wife bought this watch for me and , at first, I thought it was too big (on my 7" wrist) but now I think it's perfect. It's the most comfortable big watch I own. Despite the heftiness, I often forget I have it on. I wore it on a trip to Tokyo and a couple Japanese dudes thought it was a Grand Seiko (Goorando Saykoh). Congrats!
That's rad! I need to acquire the SARB035 already. And the SARY057 then I can do the ultimate comparison. Hmmmm. Goorando Saykoh. I wan to wear a GS to McDonald's in japan so I can make a video called Goorando Saykoh Macudoolnaldo.
I own this watch and it is a gem. Excellent value, AR sapphire, anti-magnetic, solid endlinks and the size is perfect for a modern dress watch. Only gripe is the clasp that has unsightly gap. Looks good on just about any strap though.
Pleeease adivice... The SARB's have gone up in price to around $350 to $500. Would you still buy the SARB? Or this will be a good option at around the same price (~$350)???
Enjoy the Japanese days of the week (and learn a little kanji too). Sunday = Sun/Day, Monday = Moon/Month, Tuesday = Fire, Wednesday = Water, Thursday = Tree, Friday = Gold, Saturday = Earth/Dirt
gr8 review as always. we seem to have similar tastes in watches...my sary055 also has a mislaigned chapter ring as well, tho more pronounced than yours (didn't notice it until someone online pointed the problem out)! ever consider doing your watch collection video? would love to see it. keep up the good work!
Good luck at your upcoming big meeting! Great to hear that you're being realistic yet positive about all of it! Kudos and great review! I'm stuck between the SARB and SARY line in black dial.
Thank you, Pierce. I appreciate it! Now about the watch, I cannot tell you which would be better. I'd have to get the SARY057 to better judge that. I have a feeling that it has a completely different feel than the SARY055. The SARB033 really is special, though. I LOVE mine. It's...perfect. Cheers!
i once stuck between sarb and sary then i am glad i made a great choice, i got SARY 057 and it much nicer on your wrist without lume, plus day and date also but the movt of sarb is better though
Amazing piece. I’m thinking about jumping on a black dial version. Had a look at the international version but agree the Japanese days is a pretty cool detail - might even keep the value a bit better because of the limited availability I’m kinda lost in model numbers here - what’s the (newest) model number for a black dial?
Is this considered to be on par with the sarb035 watch with the cream coloured dial. I've just ordered one yet to arrive and already I prefer the clean look of this watch.
Who do you think is the most powerful being(s) in the fictional (entertainment) universe? My vote is a tie between Bugs Bunny and Deadpool. Yes. You read that right. What does this have to do with watches? Not a damned thing :p.
Wanted to buy one but all 4 the store had in stock had very misaligned chapter rings, worse than on an SKX. Ended up hunting for a perfect SKX in the end
There's also a gold silver version. SRP532j1. I'm not sure if this model has a different code in Japan. Maybe you may know more. I got the chance of it in a sale in the uk
Question for watch afficiandos. I recently tried some CK watches, yes Calvin Klein, yeah they're Swiss made. I was totally blown away by their fit and finish. I'm not talking about the movement, just the case and bracelet finishing, design n craftsmanship... Just immaculate, reminded me of my Sarx 033. Sure CK don't have sapphire crystal, but their domed glass looked a thing of beauty, no automatic movement n they're a fashion brand, but they're owned by Swatch and i was simply impressed by the finish of their watches. Would you advise me on picking one up over a possible Japanese watch? My main req is finesse and sharp quality of case n bracelet n crystal
The main question you should ask yourself is: do I like it? At the end of the day, you get a watch because it’s a design/movement/look you like. I have watches that range from $15 to $500 and I bought them on one principal: I liked them. Of course there are certain styles for different purposes, but if you like it, you like it! Just don’t buy Daniel Wellington watches. They’re garbage.
Nice review! The 055 also comes in an international model, Ref. # SRP527(black dial version is SRP529), with the days in French/English versus the Kanji/English of the 055/057. I also believe that the SRP is manufactured in Southeast Asia versus the SARY being assembled in Japan, though this info came to me through a watch smith and not from Seiko or any industry mags/sites. I have the 055 and use it as a casual watch and I really like its flexibility with straps, as I prefer straps to bracelets and it's a real strap Ho, lol. The only negative that sorta bugged me is the 22mm lug width with the 41mm case. It brings out the bracelet/strap much more than I prefer and I can't understand why they didn't go with 20mm, of which I have a ton more straps, LMAO Enjoyed the vid! Have a nice week🍻 My Best, RP
Dennis Kwok Seiko claims that the 055/057 is made/assembled in Japan. I guess they could be full of shit. I never gave it that much thought. As I lost one of my balls as a result of radiation for cancer, while I'll occasionally bet some coin on something, my ball is never on the table, lol Stay well👊 RP
Dennis Kwok. Both the JDM version and the international versions have "MADE IN JAPAN" printed on the dial (I personally own the SRP529J1 which I believe is a international model manufactured in Japan). That notwithstanding, i fully agree with you that it's unlikely that these watches are completely manufactured in Japan. Seiko's interpretation of "made in Japan" has a liberal amount of latitude. For instance, Seiko considers any watch manufactured in an overseas factory that is supervised by a Japanese national to be a "made in Japan" product. It's very likely that both versions came off the same production line with the only difference being the kanji date wheel for the JDM designated product. This makes sense from an efficiency standpoint. Moreover, JDM literally designates that particular product for the Japanese market and does not necessarily have any bearing on where its parts are made or where it is assembled. Case (pun intended) in point; my sarb035 (a JDM product) caseback is stamped "china made" on the inside. So, if you're betting balls with RP Jake, you'll both be gratified to know that you're both correct and, at the same time, wrong. Just be happy that no testicles will be sacrificed. Ultimately, it's somewhat ridiculous to make distinctions between the two versions as they are virtually identical (except for the date wheel) in design, quality and price : )
RP Jake If it's not made in Japan, it will say mvt japan for movement Japan at the bottom of the dial. When it's made in Japan it says....made in Japan. That's for Seiko.;)
That is true. It is "Made" in japan but that just meana that it was all put together in Japan. Many of the parts could be produced in china/malayasia/Taiwan/etc, shipped to Japan and assembled there.
Kurt! How about a vs between this and the Sarb? I'm on the fence between the two, I definitely want the white/cream dialed versions, and I keep going back and forth. If the SARY could have the clasp from the Sarb, I feel like it'd be an easier decision, but for now, I can't tell. Hook a brotha up!
That's a tough one. I really like both but if i had to choose, for me, I woulds opt for the Sarb. It's just a better size on my wrist and has better movement. I really want to get a SARB035 and if I do, I'll make that video comparing the two.
SARY, NOT SARY please watch castlevania in netflix. good shit. now to the review..................... gorgeous freakin watch. love it. its basically a dressy sports watch whereas the Alpinist is a sporty dress watch haha
I need to watch it!!! I've been told this by a few people now! Maybe after I watch the latest Rick and Morty episode after I respond to all these comments and settle down for the day! "The Alpinist is a sporty dress watch". I like that! The comparison is spot on!
Like you mentioned, the tiny clasp on this bracelet is a total crap shoot. My SARB035 which has the exact same set up never fit me right... This thing is a beauty though.
I was watching Tyler's version of your trip the other day, what was the deal with the house you guys stayed at? Billy, Chavez & Doc got the regulating business locked down:)
That was Grandma's house again. Same house as the one we stayed in during the "Big Monster Journey" movie. It's part of the Lazy Lizard Hostel company. They have their normal hostel area with the common ground, etc then they have entire separate houses for rent a few blocks away. Gradma's house can sleep 12-14 people. At 160 dollars per night, a group can bring that down to be super manageable. It has three separate bedrooms with a few beds in each, three separate bathrooms and showers, a full kitchen, dining table, CRT TV (lol!), a small living room and a back yard. It is not the most secure place to stay as we easily broke in a few times due to forgetting the keys hah! It's like a 2 star place but perfect for dirty people like us to need a cheap place.
Ah, well. When we were staying there last year, someone had tried to steal Tyler's DRZ right out from Levi's truck. They reversed their truck against levi's. I barged out of the house and they took off. Levi and I spent a good 30 minutes securing their bikes before we went to sleep. We made sure that anyone who got near it was going to make BIG noise and that was right next to our bedroom.
It's a completely different animal. It's more shiny and sparkly than the SARB033 but the 033 is just so special. It fits my wrist absolutely perfectly and feels like silky heaven.
I bought this watch just over a year ago and I’m delighted with it. Like most people I would love a luxury watch like a Omega or Rolex but every time I look at my sary055 I think why would I pay all that extra money. It looks great, keeps great time and has a great quality build.
They read as Monday = Moon Tuesday = Fire Wednesday = Water Thursday = Wood Friday = Gold Saturday = Earth/Dirt/Soil? Sunday = Day still no idea why is it that way.
Hey Kurt, when you were cycling through the japanese days, I had the strangest notion you sound like Uncle Jimmy. Totally weird, it's probably nothing.
I wanted to like this watch so much, but the fact that the seconds hand and the minutes hand do not extend all the way out to their respective indices is deal breaker.
Great review as always. If it weren't for the Japanese days, this watch is just too generic. Well made as all Seikos, but very "eh". Enjoyable review though. If fails weren't enjoyable, half of UA-cam's videos wouldn't exist.
I wouldn't say generic as it certainly looks like a Seiko. It is a simple watch and that is why I bought it. It's a great everyday watch and in my mind the blue minute track saves it from being too formal. I don't like the bracelet so much due to the polished centre links and the clasp. But it is not bad. Overall, a quality watch for a good price.
It is a bit old man boring. I find all Seiko's boring once I got over the monster and the FFF mod. No wait I like the blue Samuri! But I would not pay 600 for it.... maybe 300 tops. I am not really over the FFF either, the case is just too small.
I got my blue lagoon Samurai for around 300 dollars :) The prices for them right now are ridiculous! But as a limited edition, That's bound to happen. I actually like the "old man boring" watches sometimes. I appreciate them. But then again, I sometimes want to wear something that's loud and crazy.
dont know why you would recommend a watch with no lume that has such lousy accuracy. At the price they want for it which is $350 at one retailer it should glow like a monster and be accurate within near COSC requirements. Why have a second hand if it means nothing? fail
Hi Bill, Thanks for your input. but here are my thoughts! I'm glad that there isn't lume on this watch. It would ugly it up and detract from it's dress prowess. It is after all, a Seiko Presage. It's meant to be dressy with a modern flair and does an excellent job at it. As far as accuracy is concerned, the +8 per day variance (as I've stated in the the video) is perfectly fine for me. That's pretty near "COSC". When I need high-accuracy time, I will use a 12 dollar Casio that deviates no more than +~-0.5 seconds per day (well beyond "COSC"). If I want super accuracy, I'll use an Accutron. If I want super duper accuracy, I'll use an atomic clock timed quartz. Also, I can regulate my mechanicals if I want them to be more accurate. I've gotten my Monster to +2/day. Boy was that a pain in the ass, though. I don't appreciate watches by specifications alone. If I did that, I would never recommend anything other than the aforementioned 12 dollar Casio. But that's the not why I love watches. Watches, for me, is about how they "feel" and this one...this one feels nice. Very nice. I don't need watches. I admire them. By the way, they are currently only 298 dolla on Amazon!
Love those JDM exclusives. Makes it that much exciting to own a new piece ❤ 6years later this one is still a stunner.
I love the enthusiasm and positive energy in each and every video. Thank you for all the effort you put into every video, I enjoy your channel very much.

I should buy Sary 055 instead of Sary 057, white dial look clean and versatile 🤟
Ha you did the drone intro 👍🏻 loved it! This seiko is a really nice timepiece and a lovely bracelet!
Yes yes. They will happen once in a while :) I gotta keep things fresh and change it up.
I own the black dial open heart one, and I love it. Thinking about ading this white day/date to the collection...
Where did you get yours?
I have the white one open heart, and I love it even getting compliments about it, and you don t fuck Anny buddy off like with a 10.000$ Swiss Watch :)
PS. I bought mine for 190€ one year old on Ebay it s like new
Must get a seiko
Pretty nice review I finally found the seiko with sapphire crystal I been looking for it thanks👍🏻

That is beautiful, I will now have to get one!
Seeing the watch on vid it looks amazing. You've convinced me. This is my next watch. Nice review.

Good luck with your meeting bud. Stay positive!
Thanks, man! I will!

Lovin' the shimmery goodness!!

Good taste! I might do one on watches that I intend to keep otherwise it'll be along, boring video :p Thanks, man!
That is a nice looking watch, especially with the blued hands. It is very tempting to buy one.
Check out my newest video with all the straps :)
Srpb69j1 what is different with this model? Thz
Good luck at your upcoming big meeting! Great to hear that you're being realistic yet positive about all of it! Kudos and great review! I'm stuck between the SARB and SARY line in black dial.

SARY055 or SARB035 … Which one is better?
Sarx055
I know it's silly and just a trivial detail, but the days of the week in Japanese is a nice touch, very cool and a big selling point.
I like when someone describes a watch and says, it's ONLY 100 meters.
You know, there are also watches with ONLY 2000 m WR as well. ;)
I refuse to buy a car with only 160mph top speed
100 meters in watch terms is barely enough to take in the pool. You don't want to dive with less than 200m resistance.
Where do you get this watch I’m looking every where for it
Amazing piece. I’m thinking about jumping on a black dial version. Had a look at the international version but agree the Japanese days is a pretty cool detail - might even keep the value a bit better because of the limited availability
I’m kinda lost in model numbers here - what’s the (newest) model number for a black dial?
Sary057
Hey Curt, what is the width of the center links of the SARY055 bracelet? I ask because the aftermarket oyster clasps would fit.
Thanks for continuing to cover the lower end of Seikos range. Watches for those of us who don't earn £40k upwards.
That's what this channel is all about :) You're welcome and thank YOU for watching!
Is this considered to be on par with the sarb035 watch with the cream coloured dial. I've just ordered one yet to arrive and already I prefer the clean look of this watch.
Does this fit my 6.7 to 6.8 inches wrist? Looked up a lot of reviews and they said there are no extra links?
I want this watch. I'm buying it next. :) probably 6 months from now. When I save up.
Who do you think is the most powerful being(s) in the fictional (entertainment) universe? My vote is a tie between Bugs Bunny and Deadpool. Yes. You read that right. What does this have to do with watches? Not a damned thing :p.
minitwatch Mickey Mouse, he is the " Godfather" of all things Disney, and we can barely grasp the totality of that concept indeed!
minitwatch Zack from save by the bell, he had the power to stop time for his own needs
Ferris Bueller
The CEO of ACME explosives.
Deadpool vs Pickle Rick?
Excellent and informative review.
I know the bracelet is 22m at the top bit what does it taper down to at the clasp, is it 20mm or 18mm?
Wanted to buy one but all 4 the store had in stock had very misaligned chapter rings, worse than on an SKX. Ended up hunting for a perfect SKX in the end
Nice video, ilove that intro.
can you recommend seiko 5 watch that has similiar look to this watch. thanks
The SNK355 :) Look at them on google images. If it's what you are looking for, check ebay. There are a few that are under 80 USD there. Cheers!
ok thanks
There's also a gold silver version. SRP532j1. I'm not sure if this model has a different code in Japan. Maybe you may know more. I got the chance of it in a sale in the uk
After four attempts I paused it fast enough to see the "Get Seikos" thing lol
Haha! Sorry :p
Thanks for the video! Not much online on this watch! I live in Tokyo and i can get this for around 150$ and i am gonna get it hahaha! Thanks

I'd bet both of my balls that both model variants aren't made in Japan. The cost alone makes this abundantly clear.

Most guys only have one watch. Either this or it's black-dial variant, the 057, should probably be that watch.
Great review. Thinking about getting a similiar one.
I own that watch !
Please where do I find this watch
This or the SARB035. Damn Seiko so many choices.
I'm pickle riiick! Haha that was unexpected to say the least.
Hehe. It's how I roll! :p
This is much better than SARB033 because it's size. Hey Kurt.
This is honestly by far the most likeable watch channel I've stumbled upon.
Logan Hannen case size is different.
That's a tough one. I really like both but if i had to choose, for me, I woulds opt for the Sarb. It's just a better size on my wrist and has better movement. I really want to get a SARB035 and if I do, I'll make that video comparing the two.
By a substantial margin.
hey there I was wondering if you did release a comparison video, i cant find it anywhere. I really look forward to it!
Wailuku!! Yaaaay!!
auuriiiight!
It's a bit swollen. That's what she said. I like these kind of reviews.
SARY, NOT SARY
please watch castlevania in netflix. good shit.
now to the review.....................

minitwatch I thought rick and Marty wouldn't get mor messed up than it is, until you watch the latest season HAHA 👍🏻✨ take it easy man. Good stuff
Sapphire glass or mineral glass?
Like you mentioned, the tiny clasp on this bracelet is a total crap shoot. My SARB035 which has the exact same set up never fit me right... This thing is a beauty though.
I got lucky. Both of them fit me pretty good. Nothing good strap couldn't fix, though!
What is the name of the dude music?
I was watching Tyler's version of your trip the other day, what was the deal with the house you guys stayed at? Billy, Chavez & Doc got the regulating business locked down:)

How you compare it with sarb033?
It's a completely different animal. It's more shiny and sparkly than the SARB033 but the 033 is just so special. It fits my wrist absolutely perfectly and feels like silky heaven.
Thumbs up for Fallout Shelter!
I bought one and returned it back next day it quite big

Hehe, I am trying things :)

You should play the tablet game "golf clash"
Oh no! I can't get addicted to yet another game! :p Tonight I played Forza Horizon 3 for five hours at my friend's house. Brain is fried.

They read as
Monday = Moon
Tuesday = Fire
Wednesday = Water
Thursday = Wood
Friday = Gold
Saturday = Earth/Dirt/Soil?
Sunday = Day
still no idea why is it that way.
Interesting. I'll ask my brother. He might know this!
Thats just how the days are named in Asia
Hey Kurt, when you were cycling through the japanese days, I had the strangest notion you sound like Uncle Jimmy. Totally weird, it's probably nothing.
Yeah, I find myself doing that voice more and more and unintentionally lol.
me to sometimes :D :D
9:08 Wubba wubba lub dub!
Watching the new episode in a few minutes :)
I wanted to like this watch so much, but the fact that the seconds hand and the minutes hand do not extend all the way out to their respective indices is deal breaker.
While I prefer them extending all the way, It doesn't bother me too much. btw, big fan of your work :p
Thanks.. ;) .....those days are behind me now....
ALCOVE AT - 04:46 ! LOL
Please belch more during your review. So professional. I will not be returning.
Too big for a dress watch: just what's the application? Sport/casual?
Here's how I would define it, late response but oh well. Sarb035, a dressy sports watch, Sary055 a sporty dress watch.
rất đẹp
Great review as always. If it weren't for the Japanese days, this watch is just too generic. Well made as all Seikos, but very "eh". Enjoyable review though. If fails weren't enjoyable, half of UA-cam's videos wouldn't exist.
Thanks, man! I've put them on a fews straps and sure has changed it. I agree! I love watching fail videos lol!
Put Uncle Jimmy on every video.. shit xD
'What is the subliminal message: Resistance is futile ...get seikos ??!! :)
Definitely male...good wrist presence
Earball
It is a bit old man boring. I find all Seiko's boring once I got over the monster and the FFF mod. No wait I like the blue Samuri! But I would not pay 600 for it.... maybe 300 tops. I am not really over the FFF either, the case is just too small.
I got my blue lagoon Samurai for around 300 dollars :) The prices for them right now are ridiculous! But as a limited edition, That's bound to happen. I actually like the "old man boring" watches sometimes. I appreciate them. But then again, I sometimes want to wear something that's loud and crazy.
Regulators..... MOVE OUT!
Totaler Mist wie so oft falsche Sprache daher und auch nie Interesse an ausländischen Videos !
dont know why you would recommend a watch with no lume that has such lousy accuracy.
