Another tip that I learnt from my late grandfather... Use a plastic bag that's stuffed with rags to insulate the tap and secure it with a bit of string. Sometimes being related to a skinflint has its advantages!
Rags, feathers from an old duvet or pilow, wool etc., any of that stuff will do. The old ways are quite often the best ways. They've stood the test of time! Cheers Steve.
