Today we spray an entire car in high grade Reflective Pigments. These pigments reflect a crazy amount of light when hit with direct light source like a flash light or flash on a camera. What a cool project! These aren't very practical for a whole car but would be awesome for small scale projects like a bicycle, etc. Do not replicate this project on a full vehicle until you confirm it is legal in your area to drive a reflective car. We simply did it for fun and for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
Product Tips:
- The pigment (aerosol or gallon form) only reflects as desired if the product is applied in light dust coats. Heavy wet coats will bury the pigment and hinder the reflection.
- Do not seal in the reflective pigments, as a coating on top (even gloss) will stop the pigment from being exposed to the light, therefore will not reflect as desired.

Sadly no amount of anything will make people see a motorcycle driver if they don't care and unfortunately there are people who believe you're on a motorcycle not my problem you knew the risks I don't have to watch for you

I was thinking about bicycles. Some of them it is impossible to see at night.
Would be interesting to just put this on the back of the car to repel people who drive behind you with their high beams on.

I also really liked the drips on the pendulum-painted car. It would be fascinating to see a dark base with vivid colors drizzled down like rain, layered. The run lines would obviously follow the body, and look sort of like technicolor rust.

The resale value of the Evo is going to be high. That car has seen so much plasti dip that there isn’t a single bent, scratch, swirl in the original paint job. Great work as always.

I've been waiting for this!!!! I tested some glass beads that we use for road work and it doesn't turn out very good. Clogs the gun and has sandpaper texture. Amazon has some that are rounder and smaller but gave up. Might have to try this again!!!!!

FINNALLY! I’ve been commenting that you should do this for years! Used to work at a body shop that painted the trucks used at the airport with that stuff. My biggest regret was not getting it added when I resprayed my car!

I suspect it would look the same as any black base cote. Remember he couldn't put any clear coat on the muso because it would ruin the effect.

as I'm typing this I'm wearing a sweater with similar stuff on it in the form of retroreflective strips, and I say that I personally wouldn't spray an entire car with this. It's a bit overkill. I'd do smaller elements

I was interested in this 20 years ago, but never did try it to regular paint because there was no where to buy it at the time. They put wet painted lines on the road down first and add the reflective stuff on top of the wet paint.
This is actually nuts. Coolest thing by far!

I appreciate you doing these play projects. Regardless of whether anyone repeats them, they are really interesting, and you're doing the experiments that people want to do themselves, but can't quite do, for various reasons. And I can see using these paint jobs on sculpture, metal buildings, mailboxes, bikes, you know, a thousand other things.
I would've liked to see this in motion, on the street, with the various colored lights of town reflecting off of it, but great video regardless.
