  • Jalapeno Honey BBQ Sauce is a great balance of heat and sweet, the recipe is easy to make, it takes no time at all, and pairs perfectly with so many barbecue staples. Another great perk of making your own barbecue sauce is you get to tweak it any way you see fit! If you want more jalapeno heat, toss in a couple more! If you want teeth numbing sweetness, double up the honey and brown sugar! Start with my base recipe and go crazy from there, and report back in the comments on how it turned out for you.

    Just did this then added it to the blender afterward for about 15 seconds on pulse to make it a little thinner but either way the flavor is great and it’s delicious thank you for this and the green sauce.

    Not sure if you remember, but I had commented on another video that I was going to make this, but I finally did and it was awesome! I'm not usually a fan of BBQ, I'll eat it at a party or picnic but I don't go out of my way to make it. I'm going to go out of my way for this though. The recipe looked like I would like this and I very much did. Thanks for once again adding a new recipe to my repertoire.

    I added 1 Bishop's Crown pepper, 2 tsp fresh diced ginger and 1/4 tsp Xanthan Gum. Then pulsed it through the blender. Good stuff

    Hi there again. I'm the gal who grew the Habanada peppers last summer to try in your recipe and was very disappointed because they were flavorless instead of being just heat free. This summer I have three Nadapeno plants growing to see if they will fill the bill of Jalapeno taste without heat. Your recipe looks fantastic even without any peppers at all, so I'll probably try it that way first. Then when the Nadapenos ripen in August, I'll make a batch with the peppers. I'll let you know how it turns out.

      Hey Carol! I absolutely remember you and those strange heatless habaneros you grew. This BBQ sauce can absolutely be made without the peppers and I’m confident it’ll still be delicious. Let me know what you think of it when you get around to trying it out and thanks so much for following along. :)

      @@outdoorindoortexan Definitely a go for it situation. I just checked my pantry to make sure I had all the ingredients. I'll probably make it next week.

    Are you able to change this to habanero in place of jalapeños? If so, how many habaneros to duplicate this sauce and maintain the flavor and only up the heat?

    • @outdoorindoortexan
      @outdoorindoortexan  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, you can absolutely use habaneros in place of jalapeños, but you will get a different flavor profile (Habs will be fruitier, where jalapeño just has that muted snap taste) and it’ll be hotter by a good amount. I’d honestly start with maybe 1 habanero in place of the jalapeños and see where that sits on your heat level. If too mild then you can always reheat it and add another and simmer for an additional few minutes.
      You’ve got me curious, so please let me know what that tastes like when you try!

    How long can this stay in the fridge?

    • @outdoorindoortexan
      @outdoorindoortexan  Рік тому +1

      Good question, Sue! Safe bet would be 6 months, possibly longer. I’ve had a jar last nearly a year before I used it up and it tasted just as good on day 365 as it did on day 1. The ingredients involved are all stable enough to sit in the fridge for quite some time without spoilage being a concern. The only thing to watch out for is mold growth but that’ll be obvious enough when you open it up each time. Thanks so much for watching and leaving the question!
