Ranveer started the video proudly with ' I am from a family of doctors' but I was shocked to see he couldn't catch up with the information Dr Pal was providing, let alone understand his humour. He was paraphrasing it all wrong and at times he was struggling so hard to understand things, he forgot to acknowledge or react to Dr Pal's statements. I have never seen him this dumb. The doctor is brilliant of course and I love his content.

Actually what happens when for a long time , a person takes antibiotics, the bacteria undergoes mutation in its structure and enzymes, dna ( similar to covid viruses mutation) , so now for eg a patient with TB has this resistant bacteria , inside him the bacteria will multiply rapidly and all these resistant bacteria will now get transmitted to the people he meets via respiratory droplet, to family, co workers and even random people via coughing sneezing and even respiratory droplets in environment
Similarly other bacteria also spread via various means and therefore a normal person gets direct infection from a resistant mutated bacteria which is dangerous

This is almost what I say to some health freaks. At least, sometimes you have to grow in tough( not sooo tough) conditions so that your body's immunity levels will be increased. For example, if some wealthy guys always stay in AC rooms and study or work in AC rooms and always travel in cars etc., they will be less immune to climate...
Some guys will use pain killers always when they are physically hurt like skin is hurt or spray when flesh inside body feels pain to feel relieved. But if they do it multiple times their flesh and skin will also become weak. They have to bear the pain and let the body heal naturally unless pain is too much.

I searched more on the antibiotics resistance and it's transmission to the community in detail. This is what I found.
Even if you personally don't consume many antibiotics, you can still be at risk of acquiring infections caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria from others who have been exposed to or consumed antibiotics. The transmission of antibiotic resistance can occur through person-to-person contact, contaminated surfaces, food, water, and the environment.
Practicing good hygiene, such as regular handwashing, and following public health guidelines can help reduce the risk of acquiring or spreading antibiotic-resistant infections. Additionally, promoting responsible antibiotic use on a community-wide level is crucial to address the larger issue of antibiotic resistance.

Although this was quit a long time ago -- But I had listened to quit a lot of Indian doctors who had traveled and seen(both as just observer and as consultant) many North Americans.
Most said they felt N. Americans were much more healthier physically compared to East Indians. However, they felt East Indians were much more psychologically/emotionally healthier than N. Americans. And it wasn't because of their bias, e.g. being vegetarian, hindu beliefs, etc. - They actually saw N.Americans just having many more personal problems with life on a mind/emotion level, even though again, their physical health was much better comparatively.

    • @andyg5004

Your diet governs the state of mind in a very big way. This is old Hindu/Vedic philosophy. Especially eating beef and putting so much meat in your body 3 times a day is very harmful to the psychological health of the individual. Thus being vegetarian and beign perceived less healthy is a poor perception of Indians health. On the other hand yes Caucasian Americans have a many mental and emotional issues. The other big factor is eating freshly cooked foods. Most Americans eat stale precooked frozen foods etc which also results in poor psychological health and physical health. Most American seem healthy until you ask them what medication they are on and I know for a fact it’s a lot. A healthy gut is very important

In the name of salads Indians might eat 1-2 onions, some mooli or handsull of cucumbers, However you need to wash and eat a full bowl of raw vegetables and fruits to get the fibrfe, greens, all vitamins and minerals.
plus the fast foodculture in india is terrible.
everything is laced with mayonaisse, cheese, cream, butter, ghee. you see caeser salar and it is dripping in mayonaisse, you see momos and it is either fried or dipped in greasy machurian gravy etc.

If I understood correctly the doctor is saying - With over intake of antibiotics, which is actually nit required in the first place, we will make bacterias more immune. It's just not family members, it can be anybody around you who can get affected by this. It will get transmitted like how they normally get transmitted through air, through contact etc... Like how we used to get fever earlier we will catch fever similarly but this time that bacteria would have learnt to be, adapted to be more immune, with more shield for the medicines..... Hence becoming problematic for everyone.

I am going to tell important story of my life related to this..at the age of 9 I used to get fever headache every month and I was on medicine all the time... After my research for 4 months how to immune myself and become disease free, I have to stop using medicine and start taking pain initially . I let it heal from inside .. now main thing is my body got so immune to disease my age is 34 now, in past 24-25 years never took medicine, and my 2 family doctors don't know my face or name...trust me u can only build strong immune system by not taking medicines..I am a live example and I strongly believe I will not have any medicine for next 20 years atleast..please do research on this❤

He is absolutely right about antibiotics. I myself experienced it. I live in USA and the doctor gave me antibiotics for very trivial sickness. And it killed good and bad bacteria and I became lactose intolerant and was throwing up 6-7 hours for eating anything related to milk. Good probiotics for few months and then got back to normal.

Excellent and useful podcast for everyone. Good job bringing the topic up Ranveer. It's okay if you misunderstood some of the things; but at least you tried. Most of the people are going to be in your shoe anyway. I am in USA and this freely available antibiotics behavior is really worry some for me because of the bugs becoming resistant nature. New antibiotics takes a long time and lots of money to come in to existence, so we have to be very careful in using them. Please keep up the good work. Thank you.

However, kudos to Ranveer for putting up the podcast without any cuts. Or maybe he didn’t get that the guest had made a joke and he and his team thought IPL fever is an actual fever. Stranger things have happened.

But antibiotics prescribed in US and even UK are much stronger or in higher quantity.

I am registered nurse in US for last 10 years and everytime I go back to India to visit family the amount of antibiotics everyone is so used too is concerning. My dad got a stomach bug when went there and had diarrhea so took him to hospital to get some fluids tell me doctor put him on vancomycin like wth, upon asking him why did he do that did he send a stool sample why does he think it’s an infection not a virus he said that’s what we do here to everyone some fluids and 2-3 diff antibiotics back to back and then send them home. I wonder how many people in India now are prone to being antibiotic resistant.

I ended a 10 year old customer relationship with medical store guy who always gave me antibiotic along with cold and cough medicines. Every time his whole argument was "brother it is just very light antibiotic, we know eachother's family very well do you think I will give you wrong medicine ". And I knew that he is giving me small portion of poison (antibiotic ) every time in order to maximize his profit at the cost of my health.
