I live in a compound with 7 houses. Almost 10 years ago when I began my spiritual journey and sadhana, tree snakes started appearing around the trees of our compound, sometimes in the drainage system. One day after my practice, I heard one of the house helps from the other homes screaming my name. I live by myself, my house is the first home when you first enter the compound followed by two homes next to mine, and the other four are adjacent to the first three homes which include mine. There is a common area that is used for parking, get togethers, etc which is surrounded by trees. When I rushed outside I heard her yelling "snake, snake" in my language and everyone that was outside at the time ran into their homes. I went back into my house, grabbed a cloth bag that I used to carry my groceries in when I went shopping and went where the snake was seen. Let me add I am the only practicing Hindu in my compound and even in the area I live in. Its mostly Christians/Catholics/7th day adventists etc so when they see snakes, they kill. I immediately went for the snake but calmly, I threw my bag over it's head and grabbed the bag and put the snake into the shopping bag. I went got the keys to the gate while still holding the bag and took the snake into the heavily wooded area behind the compound where there is a river and I released the snake. I was very nervous but I wasn't scared at all. And when I dropped the snake on the ground. It stopped and looked at me before slithering into the grass and I will never forget that moment. I felt like we actually looked at each other and there was a moment where I felt something but don't know how to describe it. Not being born in India or into a Hidnu practicing family, I had little to no knowledge of Hidnuism, the practices etc except what I would pick up from visiting the temple and what intuitively came to me. I knew Hindu's revered snakes and love cows. All nature actually. But I never knew the deep spiritual significance until I started having dreams of snakes visiting me in my dreams that still happens today. As a matter of fact I dreamt about a snake that was riding a stray dog in my dream and we were playing together on this dream two nights ago. I'm still fascinated about nagas and hope this channel posts more about it because I'm curious to learn more. P.S. when there are visitors and they ask who I am, I am described as the fellow that feeds birds, stray dogs and isn't afraid of holding snakes and setting them free. 😂😂😂

Long back when I was 5 or 6 years old, I killed a snake while it was resting in our pond after eating fish. I killed it because I thought it is eating what is ours. A lady begger of grandmother's age was passing by she saw me killing the snake and asked "why you killed the snake? I replied: everyday it eats our fish.
She asked me "What if someone hits you when you are eating?
This question went deep in my heart and I took a vow that I will always avoid killing.
After long long days, I found a snake caught in a fishing net surrounded by some kids waiting for its life to end. I decided to save it. I had to take some risk as I had to hold it with my hand, but all my fear was taken away by the Mother Almighty... I rekeased it in water and I still remember the way it looked back to me for few seconds..... What I understood that day is Love has unimaginable power

In yoga and Indian spiritual traditions, **siddhis** refer to extraordinary powers or abilities that practitioners may develop through deep meditation, disciplined practice, and spiritual advancement. The concept of siddhis is detailed in various ancient texts, including the "Yoga Sutras of Patanjali" and the "Srimad Bhagavatam."
Here are some examples of siddhis:
    1. **Anima**: The ability to shrink one's body to the size of an atom.
    2. **Mahima**: The ability to expand one's body to an infinitely large size.
    3. **Laghima**: The ability to become weightless or lighter than air.
    4. **Garima**: The ability to become infinitely heavy.
    5. **Prapti**: The ability to obtain anything desired or travel anywhere instantaneously.
    6. **Prakamya**: The ability to realize whatever one desires.
    7. **Ishitva**: The ability to have absolute control over nature, including creating and destroying matter.
    8. **Vashitva**: The power to control the minds and actions of others.
In addition to these traditional eight siddhis, other abilities are also considered siddhis:
    - **Telepathy**: The ability to read others' minds or communicate mentally.
    - **Clairvoyance**: The ability to see distant or unseen objects and events.
    - **Levitation**: The ability to rise and float in the air.
    - **Healing**: The power to heal illnesses in oneself and others.
    - **Astral Projection**: The ability to project one's consciousness outside the physical body.
While these abilities are fascinating, the core teaching in yoga emphasizes that the ultimate goal is spiritual liberation (moksha) rather than the pursuit of supernatural powers. Siddhis are often viewed as potential distractions on the path to enlightenment and should be approached with caution.

Regarding the snake when you were 16, I think god put you in that situation, you felt the dark energy you knew something wasn’t right, your intuition was talking, all of this opened you up to higher spiritual concepts beyond your senses, gave you compassion and set you off on a journey to find answers. It’s probably because of that incident, as horrible as it was, that you are sitting there today in the position you are in 🙏🏽

I have had many experiences with snakes especially when I was a child. Lots of thinking a snake was dead, but I would pick it up and place it somewhere safe. Then I would come back and it would be gone. My guess was it was cold and I didn't realize it was alive.
Another memory of mine was I caught a two headed baby snake when I was a child also. I took it home and wanted to keep care of it. It ended up getting out of the cage and watching my mom take a bath and scared her. I hurried and took it out haha .Then it got out again and I never found it.

The same was true in my mom's ancestral village. Snakes used to come and pray to the Shiva linga. Because of that, people stopped visiting the temple after 5 or 6 in the evening. We renovated the temple and placed a grill around the hall. Snakes used to slide through that grill, too. Now, there is a permanent mark on the tiles where the snake shed its skin. Normally, there wouldn't be one, but in this instance, as proof, it left its mark.

Here's a Real Life Naga Story passed down from my Ancestors.
My Great Grandfather(Maternal), Jaggana Garu, got 1 Elder daughter & then 7 sons. So one day he went to Paddy Fields & saw a King Cobra 🐍"Sooo big, around 20 Feet, seems to be Pregnant, And moving Tooo Slow like an Old Snake" in his own Words. He also said that, 'at that moment I don't know what got inside me, but I've felt an urge to kill it & hence killed it instantly'.
THEN, when he returned Home🏡, from the paddy field, THE 1st Elder Daughter is DEAD💀. He used to consider her as Goddess Lakshmi herself as she used to be the Most Charming & Beautiful Girl in our entire Village at that time. Takeaway for Us is: Karma is Inevitable & when you mess with the Wrong entities, then Karma Can Also be INSTANT.
Cuz, they be like: PSYCHHH! ITS THE WRONG NUMBER🔱💯
And here's another interesting Naga story in our Family, which is...
So... Our Paternal Grandma has 4 daughters but no Sons. So she worshipped Subramanyeswara swamy(God of Snakes) & told him that if a Son is born this time, I'll name his after You. And that's how my own Father is named Nageswara Rao☺

In my mom's childhood house there was a couple of snake like male & female snake that kept visiting the house mostly they appeared in rainy season but my mom had seen them since she was a child and they NEVER harmed anybody it was very rare to see them but they my mom's family believed they lived in garden of the house. One day those snakes just stops coming to the house suddenly, mostly they were seen in rainy season as they came out of their burrow but not anymore after one day. After that it was like my mom's whole family was suffering from something, my moms father died of cancer when she was just in 10th class then her uncle and every man in the family. My mom's mother my nani decided to move away from the house when my mom graduated because the environment of the house was becoming so toxic she moved cities away from the house all by herself and her childrens. Idk why those snakes suddenly stopped coming neither does my mom but surely those snakes have had something to do with my mom's family.

Guys do you know the real name of Mahavatar Baba Ji ? Its Nagaraja and he is from Parangipettai near Kadalur District Tamilnadu. And if you see the history of Nagas they are mostly originated near South Asian countries and present Tamil Nadu. I wonder what if Mahavatar Baba is a Naga basically and he gave us a gift of Kriya Yoga ??

Most of Hindu Gods and Goddesses has nagas or snakes with them. There is a particular reason behind this. Why they stay around their necks? Because they feel very similar with sounds comes when ones is in their deep meditative state, both sounds comes out from fluid of spinal cord and their own sounds ( sounds that comes from snakes )are very similar. As we know the God and Goddess are always in meditative state. Nagas represents Kundalini energy.

I heard story about Neeb Karoli Baba on UA-cam that he had a cave inside his room where he had asked no one to enter strictly.... One day out of mistake one of the attendance of his ashram ventured into that cave inside his room and he rushed out of the cave and fell unconscious..... He said that he saw in the cave that Baba Neem Karoli was I think meditating and he was all surrounded by snakes.

Snake with Vishnu could be .
As Vishnu gave us the panchangam (punch means 5 / panch . The five head snake is a symbolic representation of the one who gave us the know of astrology/ panchangam.
Also another belief is the movement of earth in the solar system is how the snake moves. The swaggy way the earth moves.
Vishnu was a Siddhar with immense knowledge of the universe which made him understand the astrology. Siddhar means scientist observing the Stars and the planetary positions and movement, in Kerala you have the temple where Vishnu lays on a blue stone looking up into the universe from that point which is very near to the solar system.

Hi, Very interesting and knowledgeable podcast. Just wanted to know a few things-
    1. If we see a reptile (snakes), can we tell if it is a naga or just a snake?
    2. What if we dream about black snakes coming out of corners of the room you sleep in? I mean a lot of them. Just imagine your room is flooded with snakes.
    3. Is it possible that after performing some rituals the Sarpa dosha gets resolved fully?

I am a Christian but I know about an Indian goddesses who if you chant her mantras, a snake will come to your home. It is a shame that evil send snakes to bite people in their dreams and I wonder whether these victims get karma if they kill the snake in the dream. I am afraid of snake spirits but I don't believe they are all evil.

There is no education in our country at a young age to identify snakes. Most of us dont even know that only govt hospitals have anti venoms and it is crucial to know which breed it belongs. Imagine it biting a child and they dont know which snake and for god snake in cities they dont even know how to approach this situation. So, that man might have killed it. Even that man didnt do anything bad from a human perspective. Killing anything is bad i aknowledge that

You should notice one more thing, why is nagmani portrayed as if you get mystical powers if you get it? Suppose if that exists and If you have to get that you have to kill the snake, which means that these people are subconciously wanting you to harm a snake. Stop this nonsense, i think we collectively should wonder how this world is made and adore it to the fullest
