In the past, my face looked dull. However, I managed to achieve radiant skin, free from pimples and dark spots, by adopting these practices. -:
    1. Ensuring I drink at least 3 to 4 liters of water every day.
    2. Eating carrots or drinking carrot juice every day.
    3. Applying Littlextra Ricebery face wash daily. It's made from black rice water, which offers 10 times more benefits for the skin compared to normal white rice water.
    4. Going to the gym and sweating like anything.
    5. Giving Steam to my face or entire body once every 20 days.

I was searching for a facewash that does not make my skin dry, yet removes dirt from my skin... This litttlextra riceberrry is the one... It cleans away impurities and maintains moisture... Except, it doesn't produce a lot of foam while applying.

The face wash of himalayan didn't fix my pimples problem but rice berry face wash did the work and reduced it.

    • @hallyuniverse
      @hallyuniverse 3 роки тому +85

They are cleansers, what she means is they're not meant to be used around the eyes so they can't truly "cleanse" your entire face (for removing eye makeup, sunscreen around your eyes, in a double cleanse, etc.) They are still cleansers, and have surfactants to remove oil and dirt so they will clean the parts of your face you use it on. The SA cleanser is almost identical to their foaming facial cleanser except it has the active ingredient of salicylic acid. You can also leave them on the face for a few minutes to get added benefits from the active ingredients (either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.) If they were not cleansers they would be marketed as masks. You can also use both as body washes.

There is a mark line for skincare formulation which normally falls 1% or less than. You can see the ingredient list. SA's usage rate is recommended from 0,5-2% as an active ingredient. If it is fallen into the preservative range then normally it will be listed at the very end line of ingredient list. Hope that helps

Nhung Trinh interesting, but the SA is mid way down list not anywhere towards end.Though most ingredients are in such low percentage after the first 5 or so ingredients.A bit farther down i see phenoxenathol as well as benzoic acid and ethlhexylglycerin at the end which are preservatives,so my guess is this is more of the preservative system is then the sa for sure.Hope this is informative.

There is no such thing as "the go to youtuber for info", especially on more serious topics such as skin, health, etc. You should ALWAYS have different sources of info and don't take anything you hear on youtube as an absolute truth.

@@roscaandrei4913 good points. However, there are those that tout themselves as experts in the field when in fact they aren't. Nothing wrong with being the average consumer or retailer; it's just deceiving and people tend to have buyers remorse when they had a certain trust between themselves and the "beauty guru/specialist" etc. You are right in that there is a place for everyone, I just believe that transparency goes a long way in keeping things good between the advisor and consumer, so that people know what to expect and how much to take from what they're suggested. I love this cleanser. The foaming is too dry and the hydrating breaks me out. This one removes my makeup with no irritation. I haven’t found any cleanser that removes my mascara with one cleanse, and a double cleanse doesn’t dry me out. I haven’t noticed the SA, but my skin is still oily, so perhaps that’s why the hydrating portion doesn’t break me out.

I use it as the first step in a double-cleansing routine. I use either Vanicream facial cleanser or one of the two Cerave cleansers after the Ponds. This is my go-to cleanser and I really like it. It feels hydrating enough (for something that doesn't stay on your face very long) and I like that it foams so that I get good coverage with the one pump. I've always had issues with non-foaming cleansers because it's so hard to tell if it's spreading around well enough without having to use a bunch of it. I also have very sensitive skin and my face tolerates this product very well. I rarely wear makeup now, but when I do I feel like it does an ok job of getting most of my non-waterproof mascara off the first time. Watching how Dr. Dray did it, I'm not shocked nothing came off, it seemed like she barely got the product on her lashes and didn't get much of a foam worked up. I've found that getting the foam lather worked into my eyelashes does a pretty good job, the hard part comes when the mascara gets smudged down onto my under-eye skin - that's harder to get off. I've only just recently started double-cleansing and though I haven't worn makeup yet for a double cleanse, it obviously won't matter anymore whether this CeraVe cleanser works for makeup removal.

I have extremely sensitive skin. Redness, dryness, itchiness, burning sensation...I have it all. After trying a lot of cleansers and experimentation (including the Cerave foaming and the hydrating one) I found that combining the two at the same time works for me. But the amount I use is very important. I use just a pea size of Foaming and half a pea size of Hydrating, mix it in my palm and wash my face. If I use a normal pump of Foaming it dries my face and makes it red. Hope it helps.

It's always surprising to me that people only use or want to use one cleanser for all occasions. I use the hydrating cleanser, or Cetaphil for days when I haven't put on any makeup. And I use a foaming cleanser for days when I'm taking my makeup off. It just seems obvious to me that different days call for different cleansers. And yet I personally don't know anyone who follows this. And then they're either complaining about dryness, or that it's too mild and doesn't take off makeup. 🤷🏻‍♀️

A more gentle approach there would be to use a very mild cleanser in the morning for sure, since it doesn't have to do very much.

FLORENCIA CRUZ SOTOMAYOR You should be using the SA cleanser in the morning before sunscreen and you should be using an actual cleanser in the evening to cleanse off the rest of the sunscreen and cleansing oil. Don’t use all three at once it will strip your skin and dry it out. It’s still a sort of cleanser but it’s a treatment cleanser and not a face wash if that makes sense.

There's not many things I disagree with Dr. Dray on, but this is one of them. I have oily/combo acne prone skin and I recently found this cleanser by accident when I was looking for a cream cleanser for removing make-up. I use La Roche Pose Effaclar with salicylic acid for bare face days, and this Cerave cleanser for days I wear cosmetics. I normally use micellar water first and then this cleanser and it makes my skin feel so soft and clean and I love the gentle foam! You only need one pump or half. On days that I'm lazy, I will double cleanse with the Cerave and it takes all of my mascara off and doesn't make my skin feel dry afterwards. Also, the trick for removing mascara is to rub your lashes gently between your fingers, kind of like a mini shampooing, lol. All in all, I think this cleanser is amazing for gentle make-up removal and very hydrating. If you have dry sensitive skin, double cleansing with a foam may not be ideal. 💆🏻‍♀️❤️

    1. Eye makeup is best removed with an eye makeup remover in the first place.I would never expect my SKIN cleanser to take my eyeliner or mascara off.
    2. I tested the Cerave Hydrating Cream to Foam cleanser on a full face of makeup. The Cerave removed the makeup and it left my skin feeling soft and supple. Afterward, I used the cotton pad test to see if all of the makeup was removed; the cotton pad came away clean after one cleanse.

So actually I was exposing my skin to an exfoliant daily, and then I was applying my retinoid. Good to know. Fortunately my skin is not that sensitive, but I guess it can trip some people up. Although maybe CeraVe knows what they're doing and the percentage is very low... but it being on the middle of the list would suggest otherwise.

The “cream to foam” formula sounds a little gimmicky. I agree that cerave should make a facial cleansing oil. I certainly would try it.

I use cerave SA cleanser as a body wash and my bumpy skin is smoother than before..

Same! The SA facial cleanser is too drying on my face for daily use..even too much for 2-3 uses/week on my combo skin. But on the body it’s awesome! Their new SA body cleansing bars are a game changer if you prefer bar soaps for body :)

Thank you for your review. I just started my skincare routine and I am starting with this and Estee Lauder's advanced night time serum. Since I don't use makeup at the moment, it's okay. You definitely addressed the issues I was experiencing like the burning and the dryness. I really appreciate it.

In my 50's now & trying to figure out a new routine that wks best for my "older skin". Started using Ponds after Dr Dray suggested it as a part of a double cleanse & I was quite surprised w it. As far as CeraVe products, I've been very pleased w every one I've used so far. Can't wait to try the cream to form cleanser

CeraVe cleansers burn my skin and leaves it red. It is a "no" for me. I do love the Aveeno Calm and Restore. I could not believe that I found it soothing. Thanks, Dr. Dray, for featuring it.

I love the idea for the numerical rating scale for the gentleness of products! It might even encourage the companies to make gentler products.

I wonder if the pH scale is appropriate to think in this way?

I cannot do steroids. Not even topical it puts my blood pressure sky high makes me lose all strength in my arms and my hands start to become paralyzed. Pity it's the go-to for many issues such as dermatitis eczema and others.

I hate steroids . Many of us with eczema do because it only treats the symptom not the cause

Yesssss! I bought this almost a month ago. I love it! I think it's their best cleanser yet! Happy Wednesday!
Edit: hmmm...well, I ran into some problems with this cleanser. Last night it started irritating and burning my face. Ugh. The only Cerave product I can use rn is their bar soap..unfortunately I don't know what it is but Cerave irritates and burns my skin. I thought I found a winner. Back to Avene gentle cleansing lotion. It's ok. We live and learn.😁💯🙌🤗

Good to know the hydrating cleanser isn’t for cleaning because I thought it was just me. Walgreens makes a dupe for this cleanser that I really like. Also includes cerimides , is gentle while removing dirt and tinted sunscreen. Doesn’t sting and is less expensive. Have not tried on mascara. I think oil is the only thing that takes off eye makeup without irritation. Thanks for the review.

Here's my understanding of the SA and BP cleansers shouldn't be used to cleanse the skin: imagine your face at the end of the day - full of sunscreen, or makeup, or both. Those two cleansers (SA and BP) aren't meant to remove those things. The hydrating, foaming and hybrid ARE meant to go in and remove the makeup, remove the sunscreen, and cleanse the face, and be used around the eye and mouth area. The other two are wash-off treatments. When you think of them as 'treatments' instead of regular cleansers...would you try and apply a treatment for acne to a face full of makeup and sunscreen and expect the treatment to do it's thing properly? No. Correct me if I'm wrong 🙃

Yes! I agree! There should be a rating system with cleansers. Good idea.
