Everyone forgets how Matt's first act as the Doctor was to walk into someone's house and raid a fridge
11 and I have such similar personalities it is scaring me
Yeah, that's what it's like to relate to a character
I like how he didn't realize he was a boy until he felt his Adam's apple.
Incredible
I will never forget
The Eleventh Doctor's total runtime is 34 hours and 52 minutes. This video is 1 hour, 2 minutes and 1 second long. This video is therefore 33 hours, 49 minutes and 59 seconds too short.
Doesn't seem that long ngl and you could probably skip a couple of meh episodes like lets kill hitler
Stelmaria don’t you ever disrespect Let’s Kill Hitler.
Stelmaria never ever disrespect that episode
*rips bong* holy shit
Stelmaria But River is great tho

"Because we always do!"

Even reading this make me cry...
Best Matt Smith moment. Shed a tear at that brilliantly played scene, so emotional.
That "I don't wanna go" was so heartwrenching. David and Matt were the best doctors we had imo
I think Peter Capaldi was the best actor but the writers never gave him time to shine
@@mrcaboosevg6089 I beg to differ. One of the best episodes of doctor who was heaven sent, literally just Capaldi and he knocked it out of the park.
I remember squeaking and shouting at the screen when I saw that moment lol
@@mrcaboosevg6089 This is a real hot take, if it was as well written as the rest I’d probably love Capaldi as much as the others
@@ProvidenceNL I'm not saying it was all bad, he had many great episodes but they were few and far between. I just can't remember as many great moments as prior doctors
It’s so weird how Eleven is the youngest looking doctor but feels like the oldest.
Aside Frome Capaldi and the newest he is
It's some timey-wimey lordey-wordey thing, 'cause regenerations are capped at 12 ('cause two 10s or War Doctor) and last regeneration (idk where i got that, you can correct me if i'm idiot) does not count as Timelord (the very reason why he overcompensating lol)
RIGHTTT
I’m pretty David looked younger when he first appeared.
I think the plan for Matt was he was ment to be a long term investment as The Doctor as someone who would have this role for at least 15 years but he got other offers
Remember how everyone hated Eleven because they viewed him as basically killing Ten, since he came right after that heartwrenching "I don't wanna go?"
And then by the time Eleven eventually resigned to Twelve everyone had fallen in love with him?
No. I still Love Tennant Best, but Smith is my strong second favorite.
Nope.
@@Anti-HyperLink I don't either, it was sad and exciting.
I remember hating his portrayal right after regenerating, and saying I wouldn't watch the new season. I reluctantly gave it a shot when it premiered and immediately fell in love, I think a lot of people did when he broke out the fish fingers and custard
That always happens. People loved Eleven and hated Twelve, now people hate Thirteen and love Twelve, and I'm sure once Fourteen comes around people will look back and remember Thirteen's strengths as well.
"I will always remember when the doctor was me" * looks into the camera *
this was and still is my favourite moment of doctor who, because that line wasn't just the doctor talking, that was matt smith saying goodbye. so good.
Hard to top David's "I don't want to go" but by god he did his best.
I loved david, but Matt spoke to me deeper, and when peter quoted that "I'll always remember when the dr was me" I was so happy
I ctrid when Amy comes back and says "goodnight ragdy man"
And this was when I cried hard because he was my Doctor. The Doctor whom I started with and who I related with most
that line ripped my heart out so sad yet I smiled as if saying farewell to an old friend
Funny how Matt had never watched the show but was one of the best doctors
For real?
He did his due diligence and watched the classics before starting. He is quoted as stating the 2nd is his favourite incarnation
@@pokeboi5438 it shows... he can be as childish and nonsensical as 2, and also just as dark and grim when needed... granted, 11 had a particularily dramatic run, and on the second half of his last series, got remarkably dark in general

Bad Guy "'Fear me, I have killed hundreds of Timelords"
The Doctor "Fear me! I killed them all! "
"River told us"
"of course she did"

Love that line! I remember watching Eleven's first episode with my brother when I was like, six, and I have always remembered the fish sticks and custards, as well as the crack in Amy's wall. So well delivered! Such a great start to my favorite Doctor!

Matt smith the speech making machine, who is my personal number 1. He truly portrayed the doctor as a raggedy old man in a young mans body. And thats who the doctor is.
you could say... he's a wordSMITH
That is the worst and best thing I’ve heard all day real mr carrot

Matt played the Doctor very well. Even though he acts young and is the youngest to play, he played the oldest doctor in my opinion.
And that's also technically true to the role at the time.
Then twelve aged hundreds of eons

also my favorite. full of enthusiasm and created some of my favorite moments from doctor who that ive watched. althought i have only watched the ones on netflix
How he died, of old age
The doctor basically having adhd and getting mad when hes watching the cubes and ends up doing 20 million things to distract himself

I cried like a baby ,not ashamed

Murray Gold knew the importance of theme songs and reprises. Emotional moments like regenerations and companion send-offs were made all the more painful by hearing the same melodies we've heard since the beginning. Hoping that he returns along with RTD in 2023!

I will always remember Eleven as the Doctor, he isn’t just a regeneration, he isn’t just another Doctor, he’s the man who fixed the crack in the wall, he’s the man who saved the universe, he’s the raggedy man...
I'll alays remeber david tennet as the doctor because in the mists of saving the world he had a choice to live and go on doing what he wanted saving people flying in his box or saving the life of a man who really only had a few years who really would not do anything and he chose to save him
I see the Twelfth Doctor as all of his 11 faces mixed into one with a new flare
For me 9 is my doctor but 11 feels the most complete? Probably because he was allowed to change, grow, show all his different sides, and be more than the Doctor WHILE being the Doctor. Having family and friends that grew with him helped.
@@khaxjc1 10 I feel like is more complete he delt with the most loss and chose to die we saw him laugh and cry where as matt smith lost amy and rory who didn't even properly die
John Cena for me we didnt get enough moments of him just living. We were with him primarily for the adventures not so much the down moments which I feel is what made 11 feel more complete to me. We saw more of his time between the big adventures and there were more references to time and life we didn't see which feels more realistic. One of my favorite doctor who moments is with 9 when him, Rose, Mickey, and Jack are just sitting sharing stories until he finds the newspaper. It feels more real and grounded. I feel like we need that breather time now and again.
Matt's the best modern Doctor. No questions. David was lighthearted Peter was serious. Matt is the perfect balance between.

You think the TIMELORD VICTORIOUS was 'light-hearted'? U smokin crack bruh?

Matt Smith is by far the best of the 'new' doctors. His voice skills alone seems him apart from the others. His ability to go from a regular upbeat tone to the sound of an old wise man for me really sells the notion of a being that has lived for over 1000 years.
Then there is also the fact that this 1 hour video still only includes a small fraction of the great scenes he had.
I've watched a lot of Doctor Who in the last few years and from everything that I've watched the Eleventh Doctor is my absolute favorite. In my opinion Matt Smith optimized the very essence of the doctor and handled some of his biggest moments ever with perfection. I love all the Doctors but I think that Eleven will always be "my doctor"

31:26 that long look into the distance as he realizes he's been accepted as part of the family is so bittersweet
Eleven's passing and regeneration was the most painful for me. It was like losing my best friend. I cried my way through two big boxes of tissues. The scene that hit me hardest was when Amy came walking down the TARDIS stairs, touched his cheek and whispered, "Raggedy Man...good night." I was destroyed. I remembered how much he suffered when Amy and Rory were flung back in time by the Angels, and the Doctor could never see them again. Clara was a nice companion for the Doctor, but she was more of a partner for 12 than 11.
Glad you liked Clara. I 'm afraid that I just found her arrogant and annoying. She even gets herself killed trying to out-Doctor the Doctor. Hubris anyone?

Doctor: if it's no trouble?!
Rory: we've set a place for you.

That part always gets me, because that's the moment he realizes he has a family again. He even sheds a tear.
This is awful... Why did I think that watching this in a cafe is a good idea.😢
I heard a theory that the doctor went to visit Amy and Rory at this time right after he lost them to the weeping angels in Manhattan, which makes it even more tragic :(
my heart fills with so much joy for him at that moment. he's frozen in place and it feels like for once the doctor is lucky. Somehow after all this time he found people that will always wait for him

Matt Smith was one of my favorite doctors I've never cried so much during a T.V show because he was the doctor he had so many great moments that just gave you chills he called her "my clara" and I like to think of him as "my doctor"
Morbing
The greatest speech of all time. I walked away from the last Great Time War. I marked the passing of the Time Lords. I saw the birth of the universe and I watched as time ran out, moment by moment, until nothing remained. No time. No space. Just me. I walked in universes where the laws of physics were devised by the mind of a mad man. I've watched universes freeze and creations burn. I've seen things you wouldn't believe. I have lost things you will never understand. And I know things. Secrets that must never be told. Knowledge that must never be spoken. Knowledge that will make parasite gods blaze. So come on, then. Take it! Take it all, baby! Have it! You have it all!
39:30 Matt Smith's speech in the Rings of Akhaten remains one of the most increding displays of acting I have ever seen. The range of emotions, and the sheer intensity of believability makes it such a heartbreaking and beautiful thing to watch. The way he delivers the line "I have lost things you will never understand" makes me cry every damn time.
Same!
Ever heard of someone called David Tennant?
@@charliedavidarnott1537 , i love David, he is a true legend but personally Matt smith is my Doctor and bests him ever so slightly in my opinion
@@kryten1016 I love David Tennant in Dr Who. But I also think he's second best to Smith. That scene with the "fire God" is one of the reasons why. Tennant had some incredible moments and I remember them well... but NONE like that. Smith just has too many OMG moments. Can you remember his sacrifice at his and River Songs wedding?
I also appreciated watching Clara's facial expressions... turning from pure awe to the realization that the Doctor might die
"I am and I will be always the optimist, the hoper of far-flung hopes and the dreamer of improbables dreams"
Matt smith is a master, he played the doctor as a vibrant young kid like character but you could always sense the doctors regret and pain
Dude. I'll never get over Tom Baker being in the 50th. I know we're here to celebrate Matt, but when I heard Toms voice I jumped out of my chair and screamed. Then they showed him, it was one of the happiest moments of my life
And that explained why that girl was wearing the scarf.
Clara: one time could you just walk past the fez
11: never gonna happen
Fes, just saying
@@ovguklc5907 use google it is fez
him walking past a Fez is less likely than me not fangirling during this video
Wow you know better than me ha? I’m a turkish guy and this is a turkish wear item dear. So yeah it is called a Fes. Not in your language i presume. Anyway you know a new thing now. You’re welcome.
You corrected a correct statement, it is in english.
Title: Says "The Best of the Eleventh Doctor"
Video: DOESN'T PLAY SEASONS 5 TO 7 WHOLE
With adds where they would cut to commercial on tv
The BBC doesn't have adverts?
“I will always remember when the Doctor was me.”
Gosh dang, if that doesn’t get me right in the feels each and every time.
I know people will tell me I'm wrong but the doctors pandlroca speech is his best!
The sheer presence he exudes in just 3 words gives me the happy tingles.
“I am definitely a mad man with a box”
If this show ended with Matt smiths doctor I honestly wouldn’t have minded, great way to end a classic
Then we wouldn't have the angry Scottish Doctor :V
@@zephyrerazortail5478 I loved it when 12th was high on regeneration energy. Like when he called Clara Handles and said “You’ve really let yourself go”
@@thebostonterrierdude1585 Haha yeah. The green one. And... not the green one. That was fun.
But we wouldnt have heavent sent!
I think if the show were to end it should e end in twice upon time it’s the perfect send off
I still can’t get over Rory’s face at 35:03. “I waited 1900 years you big baby you can wait a few days.”
Phew!!! That long goodbye with that wonderfully written script for Matt Smith, had me in tears. Especially since Amazon no longer allows me to stream any episode of Doctor who without putting my budget at risk... for now. Thank you to the BBC for putting this together! I literally could not have made it through the Matt Smith years without him as the doctor. He touched my life and made me want to be a better person. No matter how much people say the show changed, he said one thing and made it very clear. We are all different people throughout our lives, what matters is that we remember all the people we have been. I feel from what I have seen of the show up till a few years ago (and I haven't seen anything of the show since) that they have done this. Yes the doctor is different, in many MANY ways. But They are still the doctor!
'Best of Matt Smith'
Why is the video not 3 seasons long?
Yeah, this would only cover a single episode!
If we’re assuming that the doctor managed to actually do 5,000,000 kicks in half an hour assuming that the other 2 tasks took only 30 minutes combined he would have to be doing 2,777 kicks a second. He would have broken the universe by kicking a ball
What did you expect ? He's The Doctor.
He seems kinda sus to me tbh Let’s vote him out
Rule Number 1
@@VRAO04 The doctor lies...
Well remember missy in the 13ths episodes? Where she could stop planes in mid air? He can slow down time, he can stop time
I believe all the doctors are great, they each have a unique strength that made everyone love them but non more then Matt Smiths performance made the doctor feel brilliant. He was the perfect mix of smart, caring, brutal, methodical and of course funny. Matt Smiths acting was on point, everything he said/ did was so well acted out. He managed to keep me engaged in every episode. To this day I still watch his final performance right before he regenerates into Peter Capaldi's doctor as it just had to much raw emotion and allowed Matt Smith to really act his heart out. That being said all companions as well namely Amy and Rory are also well casted.
Matt Smith will always be MY doctor. I can watch 9 or 10 and thoroughly enjoy myself, but 11 always and will be the one I come back to. I couldn’t continue watching the series after he left :(
My favourite doctor.
*BOW TIES ARE COOL!*

Mine too.
Let's not forget the Stetson ;)
I wear a fez now fezzes are cool
I wear a Stitsin. (Western cowboy hat)
@Matthew Lo Love your profile pic, did you make it yourself?
All tears come to me with that “I don’t want to go”
I love 10 but that's a happy moment for me cos that's when we got 11 haha
@@tomtomato9929 Fuck you.
@@tomtomato9929 What are you Dr. Manhattan?
@@Anti-HyperLink I'm guessing you don't like 11, may I ask why?
@@ethanruzic8071 He's a massive Tennant fanboy/girl. As much as a love Tennant, I love Smith pretty much just as much, so its kind of annoying how he's going into all the comments and shitting on people who prefer Smith over Tennant
This is why 11 is so good cus even the first episode you feel like you've known Matt as the doctor forever
Two truest things the doctor has ever said:
"Beans are evil. Bad, Bad beans."
"Never eat pears. They're too squishy, and they always make your chin wet."
Of course anything he ate would make his chin wet!
"Beans are Evil!
Bad bad beans!!"
😂😂😂
Hands down best doctor ever, they made a series of characters who you can actually feel sad about when they regenerate. Name another series I’ll wait.
My brother thinks the 9th is the best I mean he's really good but not as good as matt smith
@@Vaeht101 10th will always be my favourite it’s a shame the 13th killed the show

hey it's the guy from morbius
There’s one thing you forgot, Doctor Who channel people, you forgot to include the scene where the 11th Doctor phones Clara to go easy on the new Doctor, the 12th Doctor, that’s “he’s scared as much as you are”, that’s the transition of Clara’s vision to the new Doctor.
Hein Aung I think they forgot a lot more than just one thing
Which never made sense to me having met between 3 and all the Dr's that she would have so much issue with 12
"I'm being extremely clever up here and there's no-one to stand around looking impressed. What's the point in having you all?"
I absolutely love the idea that the Curator really is the name The Doctor takes for himself when he retires.
One thing that i always liked about 11 is that he's the only doctor that routinely solves problems by looking at it, saying "I'm the doctor to away", and having that actually work. Gotta admire the confidence
