I think the change in horse behavior is so funny 😭 Link is all "yeah sorry my bad I'll train him better" I never noticed the horses would eat crops before though thats so realistic to horses LMAO
I believe #8's change was done because of Kilton and Hudson's side quest of photographing Monsters And how they programmed it to save the EXACT pose in the photo So they probably altered it for that purpose
When teleporting to a shrine in botw, the camera faces link and the shrines entrance, but in TotK, the camera will be behind link, facing the environment instead of the shrine.
This is why I love this game so much - so many hidden details add to the realism of the game! The one with shadows protecting Link against the heat was a nice touch, for example
I think the reason you can now swim up thinner waterfalls is because of the Water Temple and The Legend of the Great Sky Island sidequest. There's also a few sky islands that can be accessed by swimming up a small waterfall.
i love how much work went into this game i never once complained about how long it took my only complaint was the fact that they delayed it 3 times instead of taking their time and just giving a release date when it was ready it felt like they were dangling candy in my face and taking it back when i tried to reach for it
@@Carcosahead i am not saying it wasnt lol like i said its a lovely game and i had a lot of fun with it i put in more time into one save of totk than i put into 3 saves of botw
From what I can find it was only delayed once. Announced in 2019 without a title, any details, or release date. A cinematic teaser in 2021 gave a 2022 release date. Early in 2022 this was revised to spring 2023 (the only real delay). Then the actual release date was 12 May 2023; which is still in spring (northern hemisphere).
5:12 And here we see the most important difference between the games. A thematic shift, to be sure. Link finally changed his boxers. In all seriousness, that swimming mechanic from Breath of the Wild seemed more like a placebo. I could not tell the difference between swimming with or without clothes. I’m glad this was fixed.
I was also disappointed that TOTK didn't have any underwater exploration. It would be a great way add new content to the same world. Also Water Temple should have been underwater instead of in the sky
@@TheRealBOBlibob I mean, they already added an underground biome and a whole new sky biome so I think fleshing out the water areas as wekk would be a bit much.
A detail me and my brother noticed has something to do with Zelda's house. Me, who completed the champion's ballad, saw the photo from the ending photo you get once you complete it. My brother hadn't completed it yet, so where the photo would be hanging, it wasn't there. Crazy how many small details Nintendo put into this game.
yep! although, very strange detail, i only beat master mode on botw and not the og game. i did champions ballad and basically everything. and none of it transferred over, not even my horses. i had just beaten botw like 3-4 months ago too. its only because i lost my old switch, so i didn’t have my og file from 2017 but wanted to replay the whole game before totk
The reason for not being able to use a picture of a dying enemy in the compendium might be because of keaton as you can give him pictures of monsters which hudson makes a statue of in the state they were in in the picgure and I guess a dying enemy statue wouldn't be possible?
The harpoon thing is a bit weird... Like, that's a harpoon's SOLE purpose and it can only do it ONCE? I know the upheaval is a thing and all and the gloom rots weapons, but... come on.
@@Rhy2412TitanGameryeah we get that by why even keep it in a he game if it’s gonna be such a downgrade. It’s up in the running for objectively worse weapon and there’s probably hundreds. And then we have shock fruit which will demolish 25 fish in one go, yeah probably 3 players used a harpoon twice
The naked swimming thing was probably because it's supposed to be faster than clothed swimming and the increased speed was coded as a constant rather than a multiplier
i noticed this last night, messing around on TOTk, but you can steer link when swiimmig up waterfalls. you can move him side to side. i dunno if its possibpe on BOTW.
It’s not possible. In BotW, the swimming up waterfalls was a glorified cutscene, while in TotK it’s a lot more freeform. Being able to move back and forth on the waterfall is one of the first things I tried because I’d always want to do it in BotW, and so when Link didn’t autocenter on the falls in TotK, I had to see if it was controllable. Love that change.
The fishing harpoon breaking sucks I hate that thrown weapons breaks immediately in general I wish they let you throw them maybe just at the cost of more durability not all of it tho
It's more annoying because there are spears specifically designed to be thrown, and you can only use them that way one time. Spears should absolutely take a page out of boomerangs book, a little durability used when thrown, but otherwise able to be reused.
4:50 Some enemies can be defeated photographed as/after they die. I have a picture of a frost talos that is just the purple explosion behind Link. I don’t know if it’s just talos or what, only that it is sometimes possible. But for the most part your fact is true, and I still like the videos!
I hate that they removed the special sound of the glowing mastersword during flurry rush. In botw it was epic and now it sounds normal like every other sword.
The sound effect still plays when hitting Ganondorf, Phantom Ganon, and the weak points of the final phase so I don’t know why it was removed for anything else.
Pro mode HUD in BotW hides everything except the Hearts and current effect applied to Link. In TotK, not only have they fully hidden the effect, but Hearts become dynamic and after being affected by healing/taking damage, they vanish again after about ~2 seconds. Along with the fact that Nintendo removed the effect end sound from BotW, you'll never truly know when your Attack Up 3 bonus has run out during a battle.
Imo, for the last feature, the position of the camera when swimming up, I prefered how it was in Botw. In totk you really can't see anything but the wall of water and it's hard to just watch what's above you
other things i liked about waterfalls is that you can now both cancel climbing by pressing down + jump, and start climbing from its middle automatically when approaching it with the paraglider
In botw, you cultivated your carrots. Of course this dude isnt allowed to pick your carrots, that would be stealing. But a horse? Sure horse, eat up, you are above the law
I wouldn't call this a difference but all of koltins masks keep the monster horns from botw even the horriblin horn, showing us what they would've looked like. just an interesting detail
#2 - horses are grazing animals! They should still eat at least one and get Link yelled at if there's someone right nearby! Bring back horses being jerks!
Im so glad they fixed speed boost in totk and swimming yet with the zonai devices i didn't need to swim as much, still i glad it was improved cuz i prefer traversing in the environment by foot. Really wish there would've been a patch for it for botw cuz i still love playing it. The Lynel thump! Omg! 😅
I thought fused arrows with shock items was meant to replace these 2:13 in TOTK? The arrows and shock items both stack in the inventory while the fishing harpoons would be labeled as "spear" for weapon type would not stack. That makes the fishing harpoons pointless when you have limited inventory space for them if they just vanish after one use like arrows do. I have not even seen a "fishing harpoon" in totk yet or have just not noticed it, as I don't really pick up weapons if I have no use for them. They they would be more like arrows and found in bundles and stacked and used liked throwing items from the quick menu for resources that would be different.
At the 3:40 mark Link is only closing one eye when he's hurt, is that the norm every time he takes damage or just because of the heat? Either way that's so cool and I never noticed that animation before!
BOTW horses behaved properly, now they’ll walk away from where they’re told to for an apple Yet they’d eat carrots they weren’t supposed to, now they won’t
Fishing harpoons. They are not the only weapons you can throw to kill fish in BotW. Almost all weapons can do that (since weapons consume no durability hitting fish). It's one of the game's misinformation on the internet.
@@poggestfrog People did discuss it back when they were busy discovering secrets in BotW. I believe I've seen at least three posts about it in both the English and the Chinese fandom. The games alright but too many changes its kind of very hard to do and the decayed weapons makes it kinda sad because regular ones are the best and fused even better
