Rip the creator of dragon ball
I know... I plan on making a video soon dedicated to him
Whilst Free! is kind of out of your field as its a swimming anime, I would love for you to cover that anime next because that's one of the sports anime that also actually covers them going to college with Makoto's arc being a valuable discussion in terms of young athletes for potential career paths in the sports industry aside from pursuing the sport.
Oh yesss. Free would be amazing for the very grounded character arcs.
Free! would be a much better subject than Bluelock imo
@@fluxcorenz Don't really think it fits well....... I'd recommend Ahiru no Sora, Ao Ashi(spelling), or even Blue Lock. Free! is....well.....nevermind.
Hey coach, loving the content as always. Let me try to explain the "kun" usage and other honorifics for you.
Honorifics is a way to show respect in the Japanese language, it doesn't have a proper translation into the english language and as such is a bit hard to describe. But essentially, depending on the relationship you share with someone, you use a different honorific to show that you respect the person you're talking to which is very built into the Japanese language and culture. Here's the most common honorifics and their general use cases.
"Kun" - Can be used towards most people who have equal or less experience than you, whether it's life experience, work experience or whatever else it may be.
"Chan" - Usually used for girls, but sometimes also younger boys. Particularly common for males to use towards females or older ladies to use for girls.
"San" - Someone who has more experience or has a higher age than you. Alternatively someone you are just vaguely acquainted with.
"Senpai" - Someone in the same line of work, same school or same club as you, but that has more experience than you do. The opposite version is "Kouhai", but generally "Kun" is used instead of "Kouhai".
"Sensei" - Someone who is in a pedagogical role to you. This is not only limited to teachers at schools, but also things like life lesson teachers or art teachers and so on. It's also used for doctors.
"Senshu" - Used for someone who's an athlete, generally by people who aren't atheletes.
"Sama" - Someone who's in a master/servant or ruler/vassal relationship, referring to the superior. In certain fringe cases it can also be used between employer and employee. It's an honorific of absolute respect.
"Dono" - Antiquated way to refer to someone respectfully.
"Kantoku" - Not as commonly used, but relevant due to the subject matter you watch. Kantoku basically just means coach.
There are more of them, but they're less common or very niche cases.
When no honorific is used, it's generally a sign that the two people share a very close relationship or are a bit more lax as people.
That guy in the comments that corrected him wasn't making any sense and gave his answer in segments. Pretty annoying.
Honestly, I wish you could start Run with the wind before Blue Lock. It's just more interesting from a coach and athlete perspective.
I will include that one on the list for the members only poll when members get to vote which anime I should watch after I'm done with Kuroko!
Definitely agree
Great suggestion.
I disagree, I think Blue Lock would be a much more interesting reaction because it’s so different than most coaches philosophy’s
@@ImaBobbyMudda look, the show goes into the whole ego philosophy and etc etc but after that's done is generally just an action show (I've read the manga). A pretty good one, it' entertaining. But that's it. Run with the wind goes into actual relatable things as regular athlete in a realistic way from a lot of different perspectives.
Blue Lock is a good entertaining show but when you get past the novelty it doesn't offer something deeper. It's like a battle shounen disguised as a soccer show. And that's cool, I'm all for simple shows thar are fun. But the themes that shows like Haikyuu or Run with the wind provide are more interesting for a reactor specially for Coach Donny.
16:53 this poster is so iconic that MenaRD and Tokido imitated the staredown at EVO 2023 which currently still stands as the biggest Street Fighter Tournament of all time
Meh, LTG vs Viscant version of it is the most iconic
21:45 About the meaning of the words after the name
"Kun" is a common word for a male friend who is the same age or younger than you.
"san" is often added to older people and women.
Pretty much. Dude in the chat was overcomplicating it so much lol
I've been waiting for this for weeks coach. I'm glad you finally upload a new episode
About letting the player do the thing they want to plant a seed of trust: "if you run, you gain one by not losing. If you move forward, winning or not you gain at least 2 things: experience and pride" - Gundam The Witch from Mercury. I think this apply in that situation a lot, winning or not, you have to try sometimes.
The standing pose is pretty iconic with goku vs frieza
Love how every game, Seirin steps up.
This Winter cup is very special for Seirin because this will be the LAST time they play together.
Kiyoshi chose to play ONE year with Seirin rather than doing a surgery so that he can play basketball longer.
Coach, Ao Ashi is another football/soccer anime and I feel like it is more realistic then blue lock and gives you in my opinon a better look into the game and around the game, but both are great! (interesting for a coach or athlete perspective)
Haven’t we been thru this”realism” crap enough. Y’all said the exact same thing about kuroko, yet he’s loving it & also showing the non athletes how much more realistic the moves are. It may be exaggerated, but Blue Lock is still realistic in the moves they do & plays
Another sports anime I'd recommend is Chihayafuru; the sport it is about (karuta) may not be that well known, so you wouldn't be able to give much of an insight about the sport itself like with Haikyuu or Kuroko no basket, but I think the overall story has a lot of great life and sports lessons that are worth the watch. If not reacting to it in the channel I'd suggest you at least check it out on your own.
Hey Coach. If you're still looking for a new sports anime to watch, I recommend you checking out Run With the Wind. Its a lot slower of anime compared to the shounen sports type of anime like Haikyuu and Kuroko, but the characters and emotional connections you make were things i didn't expect from it. Hopefully you'll give it a look :p
I like this layout more, I can see what chat is talking about and I dont even know that there is a watch party.
About the colors. Each character have in their name the color ( the generation of miracles)
Yeees!!!! You have to watch blue Lock! It’s epic and amazing!
Such a good episode, great reaction as always coach.
Yea! Almost as good as the zone one
There are a lot of good sports anime in my opinion but one of my favorites is baby steps
Here's my sports suggestions for your members to vote on.
One Season:
Basquash
Over Drive
Ping Pong the animation
Hikaru no Go
Multi season:
Baby Steps
Prince of Tennis
Initial D
Yakitate Japan
Food Wars
you absolutely need to watch blue lock. this is non negotiable 🙏

The board won't fight back, but Bruce Lee will.
where you've been.. its been while since kuroko D:
Guys we need coach to watch SLAM DUNK... Dont you think guys. Its one of the most realistic anime and its such a good representation of how a guys fell in love with a sports ... I know it's an old anime with old anime but i think we should recommend SLAM DUNK to coach Donny.
Coach if this message reaches you i request you to take a look at that series and react to it. I am sure you will like it.
Kun is an honorific, and it does add some respect, however, it's usually for males of the same age or younger, and tends to come more as a term of endearment, usually to friends and other people close to you. San is the standard honorific, and is more respectable. Chan is the female version of kun and Sama is the most respectful, usually used for people like ypur boss, the prime minister and even God (kami-sama). Kun can also be used in a derrogatory way, in a sense of putting yourself in a position of superiority or treating someone like a child, since it's usually used with young people. Kuroko is probably using it more as a term of endearment here
The way Kuroko uses it, it's more kind of closing the gap between people. San is a little too formal, too stiff, so kun kind of conveys this closeness or familiarity. If you use it with someone who is your superior or someone you don't know/aren't close with, that's rude, as it's seen as talking down to them. But here, it's more of a friendly way of speaking
Thanks for explaining the "Kun" label!
22:18 I actually think Kuroko is the oldest of the generation of miracles, since he’s born in January
Edit, I was sooooo kindly informed that he's the youngest ☺️ I did a bit more research on him and in Japan, since the school year starts in April, the oldest children are usually April babies, so Kuroko was born the year after the others but still on the same grade
wow interesting
Wrong. He's canonically the youngest. Read their character bible
@ElevateYourPowerLevel9000
Coach he's wrong. It's said in the character bible that he's the youngest. He was born a year after all the GoM were born
@@TheFlowerbeast ok chill bro lol saying "well actually" is so... ダサい 😅 no need to be so rude
@@laurenmm62017 Nah bro I was just correcting you. It's hard to decipher tones in text
Actually yes you have seen Kuroko this mad and intense in the game vs Hanamiya the guy who did dirty tricks and a uncrowned king the one that hurt Kiyoshi
ohh you're right. Now I remember
You need to watch Hajime no Ippo
epic episode!!
yea! I loved this one
Hi, u didnt link your twitch. Do you stream your reaction only to members or certain people? I'd love to join and watch your reaction live.
Hey! Yes the livestreams are a perk for ultra instinct members!
9:20 I’m not so sure about Blue Lock 😅 I don’t really like the end goal that they want the characters to achieve
interesting. I'm looking forward to see what the members only poll shows after I'm done with Kuroko!
I hope ping pong is on the list!@@ElevateYourPowerLevel9000
At last!!!!
last reaction setup is better i think
I think you may have been using your webcams mic on this one. The quality of the microphone is really bad compared to your other videos
Not that it matters but this game against Yosen isn't the game directly after Aomine's team. The game against Aomine was their first. This is their 4th game.
Blue Lock is unrealistic in kinda the same way kuroko is. Yes moves & plays will be exaggerated, but the majority of moves you see have been/are done in the professional world
Tbh, I prefer Ao Ashi over Blue Lock story wise, but animation wise Blue Lock is waay above
21:40 Some supplemental information for honorifics in Japanese: The ending "-kun" is a honorific added to a person's name if they are a colleague or friend. The ending "-san" is added to people you are less acquainted with, but shows equal social standing. The ending "-sama" is for those who of a higher social standing than you. No honorifics are used for especially close friends, or as a sign of disrespect to strangers. Some characters in the anime add special honorifics to names of people that they respect, such as Kise adding "-icchi" to the end of his peers as a kind of nickname. Hopefully you find this information helpful Coach!
Rafael not really wrong but it's not the full answer,. Kun sometimes use to closest friend. So yeah that's proof kuroko feel so close with Murasakibara.
The level like this :
San = for who u just know
Kun = for kids, people(man) who's so closed to you,can use to women but have a man behavior (but this use from old, like grandpa to younger people).
Chan = this for kids too, people (women) who's closed to you . Can use to man but have a women behavior or to a cute boy
thanks for the additional info
Ao Ashi is much better than Blue Lock
Please don't watch blue lock. It's overrated. You should watch Yowamushi pedal instead. 👍
Thanks for the input. Make sure you join our channel memberships when Kuroko is about to finish to cast your vote on which anime to watch next!
honest opinion, your mic in this reaction is trash hahahaha. But the reaction is always good as usual
IT'S THE SEASON OF TORNADOES!
