ALttP was very similar in this approach. You were unable to warp until after you were able to freely travel between the Light and Dark Worlds. You needed to learn the mechanics of the game, explore most of the overworld, before you were given free rein to travel where you needed quicker. It just didn't feel as much of a slog because the story was much more streamlined, and the first act was much quicker to complete. Yes, Act 1 of TP is slow, because of the story driven aspect, but this was on purpose to force you to manually see all parts of the world.
I like alttp, I don’t like twilight princess because it’s like the hardest calculus class! I don’t know how high, but it’s at a level where calculus is hard, that’s why my older sister likes this game
I can't believe I'm only JUST realizing that the bar owner + the bar cat = Telma & Louise!!! >_< ...anyway, this was the part of the game that really turned me around on Midna. I couldn't stand her in the beginning, but as the game went on, I started to like her. But, when this happened, I was a fan. She's the best sidekick character in the entire Zelda universe. As always, I really love your videos and the editing is hilarious and top notch! I can't wait for the next one!
I feel like we gotta remember this isn’t an open world game, Zelda has always been linear and things that restricted you before make more sense later as you uncover the truth. I feel like this game isn’t any different than any other in the series before BotW. Hopefully now the bad mouthing is over 😂 I swear it’s good!
Brutal honesty, some of A-Game's criticisms do have merit but I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling like he was making a point to criticize. The gate is a good example. Yes, the wagon escort was the sole reason for the gates to exist, but he could've just *gone around* the thing.
I absolutely love this game it’s the best Zelda game in my opinion if Midna was in every game going forward I would absolutely love it but the one thing about this game I hate is the wagon escort.
All Zelda games had restrictions before BOTW came out. In WW you could not sail to every island before you get all 3 pearls and the cyclones (warp) was only available after you get the bow there, so I don't really see the issue, why it makes this game a bad one? The story is that you can't use portals as a human cause you have to transform in a wolf, with the object now you can transform whenever you like
I’m pretty sure in WW you could sail anywhere as soon as you got the Wind Waker baton and can control the wind direction, but natural item progression prevents you from completing other islands before you’re supposed to which is fair. If I wanted to go back home to Outset Island, I am able to do that. My major issue with TP so far is that it blocks you from accessing previously visited areas to force story elements on you. Even though it introduces warping early, it’s tied to Wolf Link which makes backtracking literally impossible until the master sword with all the area blocking. It highlights and encourages you to explore and find stuff like howling stones and hidden skills but if you miss it, you’re going to spend hours navigating a maze of a map that is blocked off in areas because you can’t warp. All of that can be avoided without that story element of warping being tied to wolf link. It doesn’t need to make the gameplay so tedious. … glad that’s all finally over now though haha
@MrAGame that's not correct. I remember trying to sail elsewhere other than the linear progression prescribed by the plot and the King of Red Lions had a whole dialogue and everything preventing me from proceeding further until it was time.
I mean to be fair, you couldn’t warp in Wind Waker until after you completed the Tower of the Gods, and even then you had to find the guy to give you the power.
The paths are blocked off to prevent monsters from entering, didn’t work since they’re everywhere but I think that’s the idea, and since you haven’t taken those paths yet they’ll remain blocked until you have ways to open them. To each their own for sure but this isn’t Wind Waker nor should it try to be
@@benjaminbuchanan7151 exactly my point - this game incentivises exploration and then immediately backhands you for doing so if it’s ever so slightly out of order
@@MrAGame I get it. I was just making the one point about warping which isn’t necessarily non formulaic for LOZ games. I would imagine it would be more rough for a first play thru. Now that I’ve played the game it doesn’t bother me as much. I consider myself a little spoiled from the instantaneous transportation to anywhere on the map from the two most recent titles.😅
Twilight Princess is the math class of Zelda games: you get to do everything the hard way first, then you get to enjoy the easier way after.
That’s a good way of putting it lol

This is where the fun begins
the whole game gets so much better from this point onward
Arbiters Grounds is full on A+, I hope it stays that good!!
@MasterDuckOfficial_117 Spoilers for you, I guess. It's one of the best dungeons in the series lol

Midna is my favorite companion too
Omg. Telma’s cat is named Louise. Telma and Louise. 🚗
I never picked up on this when I played this. 🤦🏻♂️
My favorite part is with the cats I have a cat at home too and rip Bella thanks to Bella the cat and hopes she has lots of kitty treats!❤
There are so many great moments coming, but the Arbiter's Grounds may be my favorite dungeon and sequence of the game.
It's funny how Link just deletes his ordon sword and sheath and pops in the master sword sheath in one second

17:08 SKULL KID IS HERE!!! Also the first howling stone song was the Prelide of Light but it doesn’t matter because SKULL KID!!!!
"Up we get" - Mr. A-Game, 2024
Best vid of the series! Just wait until arbeters grounds, that dungeon is truly S tier and arguably one of the best in the series
Yeah it’s so good!
That thing in link’s head is gone🎉😂
Ahhh yes, now we're getting into the best parts of the game!
I'm pretty sure that song that you howled is the forest temple song from ocarina of time. (You probably knew that 😅)
The howling stone song was the sun's song you learn in the royal crypt in the occirana of time
No it was prelude of light to warp to temple of time in OoT
@brianstagner4959 guess I don't know my Oot songs as well as I thought. Thanks for pointing it out for me

Hello mr a game I’ve been waiting for a video

Amazing how much u put into your videos. Thank u for very good content ❤️
Hey MrA. All of the wolf songs are from previous games, see if you can recognize them all!
Fun fact trumpet boy is skull kid, and he guarding sacred Grove as sign of friendship to majoras mask link for saving him
Which is very cute!
And if you think that's cool, you'd probably be interested in learning who the hero's shade is...
@Thomasrice-fb1yi I think I know... but it's just a theory. For true lore watch major links animation videos on it. It very good
'When everyone's special, no one is.' love that optimism.
Wasn’t he quoting The Incredibles 😂
I watched this while playing the same game

But you can sail wherever you want and the game doesn’t block off places you’ve already accessed for no legitimate reason…

@@MrAGame this is true. I will say unlike WW, I had very little incentive to explore in this game.
