Not a Christian. Not even religious. Even so, thanks for this and for sharing your knowledge. It's beautiful.
I can imagine the act of making it is itself a form of contemplative devotion.

Glory to Jesus Christ. This is the only video I've seen that makes it possible for me to understand this process. Thank you for an informative video brother. Hopefully I can make a rope soon.

Theres also a four string method. Im making 100 knotted rope from paracord. I may try my hand at making 64 or 41 knot rope using method in this video. Its the most detailed instructional video on this topic ive found so far other than 4 string method.

Thank you, so much for sharing. This is now a challenge to try my own hand constructing my very on prayer rope. The one I have l never remove because it came from Mt Athos but it’s beginning to fall apart.

friend, nothing matters about it. Remember its just a way instead of toss pebbles into a can. The important thing is to keep praying

Anything that gives All the Glory to Jesus Christ son of God blessed be his name. Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me, a sinner. Panagia Theotokos save us.

Prayer is " Lord Jesus Christ son of God have mercy on me, a sinner. If praying for someone else than say their name instead of "a sinner". Please know that's how it is prayed everywhere including Mt. Athos.

It took me about 1 week, for 2-3 hours everyday of practise alone (and thousands of fails), but I finally did it.

Saint Anthony the Great started by tying a leather rope with a simple knot for every time he prayed Kyrie Eleison ("Lord have Mercy"), but the Devil would come and untie the knots to throw off his count. He then devised a way--inspired by a vision he had of the Theotokos--of tying the knots so that the knots themselves would constantly make the sign of the cross. This is why prayer ropes today are still tied using knots that each contain seven little crosses being tied over and over. The Devil could not untie it because the Devil is vanquished by the Sign of the Cross.
