MCCABE'S PLUS: Fly Tying Tutorial
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 гру 2018
- In this fly tying tutorial, Brian Flechsig at Mad River Outfitters puts his own twist on an epic pattern originally tied by George McCabe in North East Ohio. The McCabe's Plus is an excellent crayfish pattern that is sure to catch plenty of feeding carp.

One of the most entertaining description of fly tying I've ever seen !
Thanks for watching!
I love these types of videos, even though I don’t go fly fishing yet. Anyway I just wanted to say that this is a great video about a great fly pattern!
Thanks for watching.

Nice tying Brian. Enjoyed the video and your commentary.
L C Appreciate you watching!
Just wanted to say thank you for all the fly fishing videos. Fished all my life (now 40) but never picked up a fly rod until a few weeks ago after watching your tutorial videos. Second cast, about 2 minutes into fishing and I snagged a bluegill. It was a rush that I haven’t felt using a spinner or baitcaster and I can’t wait to start tying flys. Thank you again; keep up the great work!
Thanks a ton for being here. Stay tuned!
Love the tying tutorials
Hyun Lee Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching!
Thanks great tie , going to incorporate that into a crab fly for Boca Grande. 👍👍
Thanks for watching. Good idea.
I like this fly, and I like the new products getting a showing.
I'm going to make a version of my own that will add some of your features. I think I will stick with the lead tail, maybe veil it with some plastic raffia. And I will go with a little thinner dubbed body as it is faster to lay down and cheaper since I make my own dubbing out of yarn.
I will call it the McCabe Special, as "Special" sounds a little more like a fly for a guy who still fishes bamboo.
Hondo Trailside Cool. That’s the idea on these. Take it and make it your own!!! Send us a pic.
The part that goes past the eyes is a 'rostrum' for future reference. Great fly! One for the box no doubt
The Chronicles of Bond Thanks! We aren’t going to tell him though. He’d pretend that he knew that. Let’s just let him say it wrong. 😉
Great video
Taio Thanks!
Nice video 👍👍
Andy K Johnson Johnson Thanks for being here.
Love this version of the many crayfish patterns out there. Tying some up as fish love em in my local & my brother took my last crayfish ties as they looked to much of a blag to tie. Cheers from Jon over in Mid Wales.
Thanks for watching.

www.madriveroutfitters.com is our shop. Thanks!
How does one get into fly tying? I'm not a super experienced angler so i'm not even sure what works and how to make something that works.
Valscorn01 Stay tuned. New series called Getting Started in Fly Tying is coming soon.
Loving this pattern so far but I’m having a lot of trouble with the claws. They seem to fray and look like one big glob at the end instead of a set of claws, am I getting too much maybe? Attaching it wrong?
Thanks for watching. Please contact the shop directly with questions and they will be happy to help.
