I think the reason why Ross and Monica don't feel awkward playing strip Happy Days game together is that they've already decided to gang up on Joey.
But it is still a risky approach since Monica's pants do come off!
They ganged up on Joey. Joey didn't go for Rachel because of the history with his good friend Ross, not for Phoebe because she is his good friend also. So naturally Joey went for Monica.

@@jamesfair9751 When this was scene was written and filmed little did even the writers know Chandler and Monica would end up being married. The characters story lines are not written years ahead of time.
I'm sure it was improvised because Mathew Perry just couldn't resist.
They actually already decided to give Mondler a shot after the workout episode, they just didn't expect it to get so serious then. And it's actually Chandler who made Monica take her pants off😂

Like he didn't say ''Oh my girlfriend is now bald so I have to break up with her'' he found out the love of his life Rachel is still loves him after all the fight they had in season 3 so... This scene just shows how Ross didn't really love Bonnie.
