The parallels between Native American culture and Hawaiian culture is crazy to me. We weren’t allowed to do the hula (which is how we told our history) we weren’t allowed to surf. They would accuse natives of having leprosy so they could ship them to Molokai and take their land for plantations. 90% of natives were killed off from disease, poverty, etc. there are more native Hawaiian people living in the mainland than in Hawaii right now and it sucks the big one.
Indigenous people everywhere have so many similarities. Everywhere the Marines sent me, you'd find that somewhere, there was a original people, and they were getting 💩 on.
Same for the Taino of the Caribbean, same in Australia, and even Northern European countries. But the world is changing and the Old Ways were not lost. "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."-MLK
I met a dude that is Indeginous person back in basic training within the ARMY. He was a back stabber, trying to act tough and trying so hard to be liked by everyone. Thought he was my friend but he isn't. He is a snake. A damn druggie. But if course he was a biracial Indeginous person, he's half Mexican and half Indeginous.
Thank you for asking the jewelry vendor if it was ok for nonindigenous people to wear native art. I have admired native art my whole life but never made purchases because I was afraid wearing it would be frowned upon. Love your channel. Subscribed ❤
If you haven’t been to a powwow, do yourself a favor and attend one. The dancing is beautiful, the food is great and the products made by the natives are second to none. It’s a wonderful cultural experience.
We love you dearly. You are beautiful Indigenous people who have suffered for too many years. Keep going onward with much peace, tranquility and big pride. Never water yourself down just because someone eles can't handle you at 100%. I've been to several pow wows in my 60 years. I am from the Cherokee nation pride. See you! ❤
Whenever I hear “for so many years we weren’t allowed to celebrate our culture, language or dance” I think, how insecure can a person /culture/government/religion be to fear someone else’s beauty? What happened is criminal. I live in Canada, where the French language is so supported as “an official language” that it is legislated as a must education up to grade 9 and in Quebec, is mandatory as first and only language in schools, businesses and government institutions. Long story short, I would like one day in Canada to see First Nations languages and culture education mandatory in schools. After all, they were the true first languages of our country. Not English or French. Reconciliation is more than just an apology.
I got cholked up when you talked about your ancestors not being able to wear the dress or practice culture...i thought of my grandma... she was a white woman who taught school in the 40s 50s and 60s. She lived and worked close to a reservation in cree country Quapelle vallet SK. She would play pow wow beats on the piano and encouraged her first nation students to make regalia out of paper...headbands, headdresses and such and would play piano while they danced in circles. She loved those kids, she loved the culture and their mothers brought them to her classroom because they knew she was good that way. She taught me about the residential schools and the atrocities at a very young age...im very proud to be her grand daughter. I love your content...the clothing, dances and music touch my heart deeply for some reason. Ive never been to a pow wow...

Thank you for sharing a powwow experience! Such a cool and beautiful tradition that I feel lucky to get to see even in video. My paternal grandmother was native and I often feel sad that my family either couldn’t or didn’t uphold most of her family traditions except for soap making. I'll be going to my 1st pow wow in November. I can't wait!
I wish I could visit a powwow in northern america, but sadly I live too far away at this time. Love to see the culture and its various ways to be experienced through videos! If possible, more of these would absolute be appreciated, to experience the part of the culture being shared with other people. 😊
I love powwows! Thank you for sharing with those of us who can no longer get to them. Miss them.😢
Love the video! Thank you for sharing this wonderful time with us!
Lakota Oglala and Irish here! - Métis 👵🏽✌🏾🦅☀️🦅☀️🦅🪶🪶🪶🪶
This looks incredible, thanks for sharing ❤
To bad they don't have something like this down here in North Georgia. I would so love to go to this so I can watch the dancing and visit the venders.
When you're in your full costume/regalia.... How much does it all weigh??
You men are just glorious!!
The best advertising there is. Are the people who've attended a pow wow. & Had the time of their lives there. It sure looks like a good time to me. I'd love to go to one!❤❤
Thank you for taking me on this beautiful experience! I’m really starting to learn about my culture!
It’s so good you are giving us an insight of your ancestors dances and lives.
Love it! Would love to see an item about the food, or recepies
“We only give it to the bravest of Warriors.” 🤣🤣🤣
Digging the longer video, your fun personality really shines.
Cheers from an Scottish Irishman who regularly attends MicMc PowWows in Eastern Canada.
*unpause*

Bahaha, so Ironman ended up being the one that we met at the beginning even, too funny.
Thanks for taking us along.
Australian here. Always loved your culture and it's beautiful people ❤ I was living in CA for a while and so wanted to go to a PWOW but never got the chance because of Cvid...maybe someday I'll get the chance again ❤
That is awesome ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ wish I could come and see and support xxxx also would love some native jewellery to wear too xxxxxx big thank you for sharing your story xxxx
MORE ! FROM AN ILLINOIAN 🪶
One of the most beautiful experiences of my life ❤❤❤❤
I've never been to a competition powwow. Iron man sounds absolutely brutal. Though dancing is heading for the soul it takes out a lot out of you physically. Women's traditional is hard enough! I can't even imagine men's fancy dance!
TAMLA TANETTE MOORE IS THE MOST HIGH AND UNSTOPPABLE TOO..WE ARE ABORIGINAL PEOPLE OF TURTLE ISLAND..ASE HEKA AMEN RA AHO MOORE NATION GRAND RISING ❤❤❤❤❤❤
