We are in a new age for SGB, with new logos and drawings for the crew (especially now that Uncle offically became the fourth member) This is going to be nuts.
The thing you're forgetting about Al when you talk about him being the bad guy is that Al isn't bad because he's gross or an obsessive collector, he's bad because he stole a child's toy to complete a collection he could make money off of by selling.
Great. First Elliot stole Matt's weight, and now stole Johnny's glasses. It seems to me he's trying to become the Super Gaming Brother if you catch my drift. What's he gonna steal next? Greg's silver streak in his hair?
1:41 How kind of Traveler's Tales to have the hindsight to compress the audio so much that UA-cam would NEVER be able to catch it in it's copyright algorithm
Johnny: What’s that? Matt and Uncle are trapped in the old abandoned mine, and Uncle just lit a stick of dynamite thinking it was a candle and now they’re about to be blown to smithereens? Elliot: Mm-hmmm Johnny: Ride like the wind, Bullseye!
Dude, nothing in this world makes me laugh as hard as Wheezy getting his shit rocked by Mr Mic and swallowing his squeaker. You could play that clip a million times in a row and i'd still be laughing at it.
So fun fact, the PC version of the game used your computers CPU speed for certain things. The Zurg fight later in the game is unplayable on modern day PCs because it makes him insanely fast and he never lets you get to attack him!
15:35 I know it doesn't feel like it, Johnny, but Toy Story 4 actually came out nine years after Toy Story 3. They waited almost as long as between 2 and 3, which was an 11 year gap.
Yeah. They made The Lion King's game second level that hard on purpose. The reason being that they didn't want kids beating the game on weekends and them losing money.
- Collect 5 things - 50 coins to Ham - Boss (usually in the highest area) - Hard to reach area or puzzle - minigame (slinky time challenge, RC race etc) That’s the usual 5 tokens per level, it’s a great structure for the game
The new assets for the thumbnail look amazing; reminds me of the “old SGB” back when we had the old LA Noire and New Super Mario Bros. in our inbox. It’s great to see you guys keeping on with these commentaries, and continuing to enhance on its look & feel!
Seeing Zurg in the opening of Toy Story 2 just makes me weep for what they did in Lightyear. The biggest fumbling of the ball ever. Especially as they made the design so big and imposing, he could've worked if they hadn't gone with what they did
Man, I remember the old era of games where they just insert clips from the movie as cutscenes. That was how I watched half the Disney movies I never owned back then.
10:45, lol! At least you almost had it Elliot. Nice to see Greg finally get a thumbnail of himself! And with that he's now officially part of the SGB crew. Once again, Welcome to the crew Greg! And since they brought up the movies. While Toy Story 3 still has the best epilogue of the movies in my opinion. Toy Story 2 still remains as my favorite in the series.
Loved the game but didn’t fully complete it as a kid, played it again when it came onto PlayStation plus. Them adding a rewind function perfectly balances out any pain that comes from the age of the game (mainly the camera). There’s a lot of tall structures that take a while to climb back up, and rewinding just saves you so much time and keeps you enjoying the game. Just such a charming and fun game
It’s crazy that there’s so many PlayStation fans that are nostalgic for this game that Sony has rereleased it multiple times ( and now with trophy support!)
One of the best movie adaptational games! I loved having this as my first PC game (and Ultimate Ride!) that my dad also taught me how to install by myself growing up! And Swallow Studios' music is *SO* good!
HOLY MOLY I remember this game! I also just remembered that i had this on the N64 so what you said about the Music in the first stage I didn't think anything of it at the time O_O
Nice, can't wait to see what's in store for this playthrough. Also, fun fact, Traveler's Tales not only developed this game, but they also developed a few other Pixar games including Toy Story 1, A Bug's Life, and Finding Nemo
now this is true childhood. For anyone who has never seen this, heard this, or even played it, this is considered back then to be top Movie/disney Pixar game to be turned into a videogame. So many memories of this is flooding back, right down to the joys of seeing this film in theaters.
Man, this game takes me back. I actually played the PC version of this game, which unironically was my first PC game I think. Toy Story 2 is a pretty fun game overall, so I'm happy seeing SGB play a childhood classic for people

Out of all the games you guys could’ve chosen, this was an unexpected and welcoming surprise. I had this game as a kid and, while I didn’t get to play it much, I always loved my time with it and now I am so excited to see more from it and you guys.
Now that Toy Story 2 in the PlayStation Plus classics catalog has trophy support, I am more than willing to play through the entire game again for the trophies, because the game is that good, especially in an age where movie tie-in/licensed games actually had some good qualities to them.
This is such an underrated game. It was one of my favorites growing up because there was just so much to do. Looking back, it's really surprising how much content this game was packed with. A really good video game movie that does not get enough love. Traveler's Tales absolutely nailed it

Welcome aboard. 😃 Now I remember growing up completing the Al's Toy Barn levels but I could never get past the main boss for that area. Cause I had no idea I could used a charge beam shot to destroy one of the Zurg robots with the shield. I don't think I ever played the game since then.

Especially the third level where you get to play the Buzz Lightyear game literally straight out of Toy Story 2. There's even a part where you are supposed to take a "secret" path to the left just like the guide says except it's to avoid an obvious trap rather than the boss fight.
Glad to see you back, guys! Was hoping for a megaman legends 2 followup or finally doing the bouncer but eh I like my psx 3d platformers, despite never playing this one.
