- KYIV is under attack by groups of Russian troops wearing Ukrainian uniforms in the latest ploy by mad tyrant Vladimir Putin.
Ukrainian troops are reported to have killed a number of disguised soldiers as the capital prepares for a long bloody siege.
It comes as citizens were urged to take up arms, make up Molotov cocktail fire bombs, and to use commercial drones to defend their homes.
Some 18,000 assault rifles have been handed out to residents and general mobilisation has been ordered in a bid to protect their homes.

The UK isn't perfect but it's done alot of good in the world, ending world slavery would be our biggest achievement, it cost the UK government so much money to do it that we only finished paying off nearly 200 years of loans in around 2016. There are alot of black people who would be slaves today if not for it. Sadly slavery is making a comeback, I believe sloves are sold openly in parts of Africa

Ukraine is the ground zero for what could become a quick escalating major conflict. Latvia and Estonia are potential frontline areas.
There is no real escalation path that's acceptable. Any form of escalation quickly will include nukes. The world must not allow escalation.

I doubt even Putin would attack any country in NATO, he just isn't strong enough. Ukraine has a comparably small armed force, has a large pro Russian population and has no official allies. He will take Ukraine and stop there.

I hate fighting! I hate war! Civilians should not be made to suffer the egos of a few powerful individuals. I am happy that foreign troops are able to help, but I also lament that many lives may continue to be lost in trying to right these types of wrongs.

A large proportion of commenters seem to have misunderstood some things. Many appear to think that these British troops are going to Ukraine and that Estonia is a just a stop on their way to Ukraine. These British troops are actually not going to Ukraine: Estonia is their final destination. Also, Estonia is located quite far from Ukraine, so travelling from the UK to Ukraine via Estonia wouldn't make any sense.
Estonia is a NATO country and there is no war going on in Estonia. The British troops are just going to Estonia for training. There is no plan to involve them in combat. Because of this, there is not much reason to think that the British troops won't eventually be back in the UK safely.
The presence of troops from other NATO countries in Estonia is meant to deter Putin from scheming to invade Estonia. It's unlikely that Putin will actually launch an invasion of Estonia in the near future but it's better to be prepared anyway. The troops from other NATO countries are in Estonia because Estonia invited them there. As an Estonian I am grateful for the presence of British troops in Estonia.
Estonia is closer to Ukraine than UK and also Borders Russia.

Estonia borders Russia. Estonia is part of NATO (easily the most powerful alliance in history). The British are there to protect NATO allies. An attack on Estonia is an attack on NATO, which is basically an attack on pretty much the majority of Europe (including UK) and North America.

Ukraine isn't a NATO member so sending troops would mean an unneeded escalation.
Sending weapons and humanitarian aid is the best option for now.
War is a vary expensive thing especially in modern times where the cost of highly advanced weapons like rockets is unbelivable.
