Of all the non-commercial reef channels out there, you are FAR and away my favorite. Strike that - you are one of my favorite reef UA-camrs, period; your production quality is terrific, your content is interesting, and your tanks are what I aspire to keep myself. Well done!
I love this tank, I have the fusion peninsula and I run it fresh water loving it for years, I even got a backup one in case they stop making them, and they did I believe 😊
It’s amazing how fast things add up in this hobby. I set up a little nano system with two 5.5 gallons recently and even trying to do it relatively cheap I still have over 1000 into the setup
Great video Chris. I am finding this hobby is not a cheap one!! Max Nano tank wise. Just about to try my 1st coral purchase. Good luck with your good lady!!
It's definitely not a cheap hobby but can be done on a reasonable budget. Thanks dude, hopefully I'll be here for next week's update 😂 good luck with the first coral buddy! What have you gone for?
Great video series! Just a quick one about the skimmer, I’m currently using the TMC reef skim nano to great effect. I picked it up from my LFS, before that I used a nano reef float skimmer but it was a little small for the tank, they’re both great UK options for this tank though!
awesome video mate, its great to know im not the only one spending a fortune haha, unfortunately this hobby is an expensive one if you want to have good equipment, you tank looks stunning and the money you have spent has (in my opinion) been well worth it! i love watching the updates on this tank!
Cheers Mate! It sure is, I definitely won't be doing the same video on my 250 that's for sure 😱 I dread to think how much I've spent on that tank in the last 2 years 🤑
Bought a 25g IM lagoon pro, 400$, got a cobalt cray200 secondhand ,300, 50$ on oolite sand, 100$ on rock, 30$ heater, 50$ IM uv sterilizer, 280$ on a custom lid, 65$ on an ATO, 10$ on a ATO reservoir, 20$ on shrimp guards, 150$ on cleanup crew inverts, 100$ on clownfish (so far) and maybe 500$ on corals so far. My total cost is around 1800 USD, not counting the test kits, RFG, random water I buy due to not having a rodi system, I've bought a 20$ nano reef dosing kit twice. It can be done cheaper than the video, but not gonna lie I for the most part tried to be frugal and get things that would last, but not cost so much. My light and custom lid are the two most expensive parts on my tank. I could probably have done the whole tank for 1300-1500 if I had less corals, and had gotten a much smaller light. The nicrew hyper reef 150 for example is half the price my light was used, but still does par readings in the 200+ range
I have a small 2 gallon mixed reef with spa corals too. The dang light was given to me, but the light I have on it cost way more than the tank and everything in it hahahah. Hydra 26 on a 2 gallon tank..... Over kill. The highest setting is 10% blue 1% white and the rest of the colors are in-between.
Diatoms can last days, weeks or months unfortunately buddy. They should eventually burn themselves out but you can speed the process up with a good clean up crew. Also how's the nutrient levels in the tank?
I would say the high phosphates may be the cause of the continued ulgy stage buddy. I would cut back on feeding and do a few tactical water changes to try and lower them
I thought 💭 you’d be looking 👀 at £2000, considering you haven’t used cheap gear on this project, so £1800 odd is ok 👌 taking into account as you say, that’s UK 🇬🇧 cost. 👍🏴
You're working your way through these videos today 💪 I was actually a little surprised at the overall cost... I thought I'd spent about a grand 😂 good job I'm not an accountant eh

1k for a little tiny 5 gallon tank? Why didn't you just use that same money to buy a decent size tank?

Unsure on 1st coral. Would like a Torch of some kind. Will defo only be a soft or LPS one tho. Will go to my LFS next week when off work.
Torches are definitely one of my favourites! As long as the tank is nice and stable a torch will do well dude
Great video series!

@@NanoTankReefer haha yeah I would say that would be a soul destroying video mate!

Do you think this is a good tank for glofish tetra.
What is the adapter you use for the RFG
I got the same tank and i notice they dont fit
That light is probably worth more than all the rest combined

Great video! I have a question, I’m currently still still dealing from what I believe is diatoms after a month, any recommendations?

@@NanoTankReefer thank you I have nitrates around 15pm and phosphates are pretty high maybe 1ppm

@@NanoTankReefer thank you I will follow the advice thanks again!

Your Chanel was doing good that’s a bummer that you went M.I.A
Your mrs has watched it and you better sleep with one eye open 👀
😂😂😂
The money is not important if the pleasures are a lot having a reef !
