I've had promoters who will bring in local talent in every time something is scheduled, without any communication with anyone else, be it comedy, music, whatever is scheduled, and it can definitely cause big issues...exactly like this.
It sounds to me like that is potentially what happened here.
But hell I wasn't there and all I know is that I think it's a shame they can't work it out...and as a fan of both of them I believe they'd do great things together if all this wasn't in the way.

It sounds like the promoter or club owner tried to do a side deal with Ali unbeknownst to them both and it backfired. Kat clocked it and said ok pay him, but my show/my comics only. He is very particular about who he wants to deal with. He was paid for his time. Now instead of discussing the misunderstanding with Kat he's bad mouthed him in public. Now you will NEVER get on his tour. Willie should have said was show us the contract/text message showing you were scheduled to perform.

The story makes sense if you understand what the stories are. Ali said, for whatever reason he was informed that he would be performing that evening. Kat said there’s no one performing who’s not a part of my team. Therefore Ali was locked out of the venue. Upon finding out or confirming that Ali was supposed to perform that evening, Kat went ahead and paid him even though Ali didn’t have to perform. Seems to me, Kat was more then fair.

It also seems that Ali was telling the truth. You just explained it perfectly. Kat was also telling the truth, but left out that the reason he paid Ali was because he was, in fact, told he was going to perform. But since Kat doesn't use people outside of the team he brought, it makes sense why Ali didn't perform. Kat has really taken this story and twisted the truth to make both parties look a certain way. It's not cool. It's a great storyteller, but it's cool at all. Makes me question other stories that he told the "truth"/twisted. 🤔

Yeah, but Ali said he performed that night. So did the bill include Katt, Katt's touring openers and then some local openers? Local people that would have included Ali? Katt's acting like Ali was some nobody begging to get on but it sounds like Ali was already in the building and had done a set. And Ali's dude was there and could corroborate. Why would Katt pay a local opener he didn't book? Wouldn't the promoter who booked the local talent do that? Katt's story raises more questions than it provides answers.
It a fact that Katt brings his own line up with him to every city. Undisputed. However, this is the same Katt that told another comedian he was coming to his city to film a special to intentionally out perform him. So would I put it passed Katt to pick a fight with a comedian just to flex in that comedian's home town? YES. Between both versions of the story it sounds like Ali wasn't informed by the club owner, promoter, or Katt's team that he wasn't going to be performing that night prior to show time. Katt, being the guy he is, flexed on him at the door because maybe he felt disrespected at the prior event with the dj situation. I'm not saying it's right. It just what I gathered between both versions of the story.

The Ali side of the interview played in my head when I watched Katt's interview on Club Shay Shay. I think both stories happened, the only part that doesn't fit is where Kat say's they never met. Unless he forgot that they did or they were just acquaintances.

I love them both. Unfortunately I think the beginning of Ali’s story mentions female manager and the warmup DJ got into it. I kinda think that’s what was the event Kat is remembering was. It’s possible that Katt did not want (warmup DJ) back in the building due to him threatening Katt’s female manager. Ali said the guy was a calm dude normally but was now offended and was yelling and threating what he would do, even if the cops were there. Then he (the warm up DJ) left for another gig. Then, Katt gets there. If the story was told by one person, say Katt’s manager, she may have told him about what happened to her. Security may have been told they don’t want the other guy on stage there. Security May have assumed that meant Ali, and stopped him from coming in. Then, Katt asked the staff why is this guy so angry? The manager of the venue, speaking about Ali, says “He thought he was opening for you.” So, Katt, said “Well let’s pay him for performing.”
All of this makes much more sense on both sides. Just neither of them ever checked for clarification, or matched the details, Katt nor Ali.
That’s what I think happened.

I was working at Reliant Stadium the night that it happened and it really was the promoters for the event thinking they could slide Ali in and cats management saying that it wasn’t going to happen the day of so they are both right from their point of view because of the information that was provided to each side I know for a fact that was not supposed to come back into the buildingbecause it was sold out and he didn’t have a ticket and technically was no longer going to perform the same goes for ghetto the DJ that Ali was talking about so there’s truth on both sides just more to the story

I was there and I remember exactly what happened.
Katt DID know Ali and Ali indeed was under the impression that he would be performing that night because he had already performed the night before.
Katt may not have intended for Ali to perform, so he paid Ali anyway.
I assigned six of my own security staff from Samarian Entertainment to remove the security guards blocking the entrance.
This was indeed a misunderstanding from beginning to end and NEITHER of these amazing performers is lying. They are both telling the truth and this incident should be put to rest. ❤
This was a great discussion, I recently just laid my daughter to rest, I'm trying not to shut down, still navigate my marriage, and continue to be a father to my son. This was helpful in the mist of my grieving process. Thanks for a moment of peace.

I blame whoever ran that space, because they knew both Ali and Katt. They could've easily communicated with Ali and let him know Katt was coming through and that he already got his show lined up. It was probably that same person who sent security out there instead of talking to that man and owning the mistake. I bet Katt ain't even kno nor care how he was being accommodated, because he was expecting for him and his folks to be accommodated. Looks like they were so I'm sure he didn't have a reason to question what else was going on.

❤ I love both the intelligent brothas and recently saw Ali live... phenomenal! I think what had happened was: in those short few moments when Ali walked out, Katt remembered or was reminded by someone that Ali was the one present the time before when the DJ guy was speaking recklessly. Yeah, that makes sense. If it seems that I'm in the presence of someone who was cool/ tight with a dude who was disrespectful to a woman AND threatened to unalive me and anybody in my circle or dealing with a show I am a part of, I'm not trusting that energy or leaving it to chance that I'm safe. Either the reckless DJ situation happened the same night or Katt remembered and chose not to trust that energy at his show.
Yep! Listening back to both of these stories, I think the truth is in both the stories. Ali is telling it as if it were 2 separate occasions. When you listening to Katt speak about "the raising of voices" and "I don't care who you're cool with..." at HIS show, that sounds like what Ali described was going on with the DJ. Same night. Same situation. In that case... you don't get to come back in with your "DJ friend" who has made threats and disrespected my team. Discernment is what will keep you safe. It's what has kept Katt safe.

It wasn’t Katt fault it was Ali DJ friend he told Ali he could perform I’m guessing he thought he had more pull but when Katt people told him no the DJ didnt tell Ali he messed up instead he lied and made it seem like Katt told him no. Katt has his own comedians come to his shows so how could a random comedian show up thinking they will perform. That was Ali friend he caused this issue.
So I think Ali would definitely give Katt a run for his money on the stage. Ali is a great storyteller and he is funny as hell

This is not a misunderstanding that would imply that Ali had made some assumption. The entire "beef" was Ali saying he DOESN'T understand what happened that day but he just felt disrespected. Katt acting like Siddiq is some beggar boy asking for scraps not understanding the ways of world doesn't clear anything up. It just means Ali was right to feel disrespected.
