Black Canyon Ultras 2020 - My First Ultramarathon

Black Canyon Ultra 60K and 100K 2020. My first ultramarathon! What an amazing experience and race put on by Aravaipa Running presented by Altra. See photos and videos from the race and hear my race recap. This race is a must do for trail-runners and a great opportunity to experience the Black Canyon Trail in Arizona. Being my first ultramarathon, it could not have gone better. I am so excited to sign up for more and bigger ultramarathons.

What watch are u currently using?

I currently have the VivoActive 3 Music. For the race, I turned off HR and disconnected it from my phone hoping to get longer battery life. It almost made it. I am looking at upgrading in the very near future to either the Garmin Fenix 5 Plus or the Garmin 945. Coros is another brand that I am considering. Any thoughts?

@@6se7en0 All good choices. I have become accustomed to the Garmin ecosystem, so that generally wins my favor. Good luck on the hunt for a new watch. I'd be interested to hear which one you land on.

Wow thank you for sharing. I’m excited for your future upgrade especially with battery life... it’s kinda hard with the Garmin prices. I’ll definitely share which one I choose! Thank you again.
