I love the way the parents treated each other with respect,they put their child sake first
I loved it. It helped of course to have graceful and charming Jane Seymour and dashing handsome James Brolin in the title roles not talking about the little boy of exceptional beauty. It was a well made film. Great model for bringing up a child not spoil him, teach him values, yes, it is rare these days to find parents so down to earth. I wish all aspiring parents watched it and learnt from it. Children are to be taught and guided with love and discipline, firm and caring. Children need their boundaries and the rules create safety. Obedience is not an old-fashioned thing it is vital for a functioning family. Children have to accept their parents decisions and obey them. Parents need to love them with tenderness and discipline. It works, it always does. This is why our society is so out of hand. There is no education in so many families and parents have no idea how to deal with a child, how to bring him up. Anyway, I strayed from the film a bit, but it is also visible in here that all children want is a whole family. This child was cleverly scheming to bring his parents together and with success. It sadly does not always work out like that in real life. But adults could learn from that too. This part was also realistic and showing what children want more than anything in the world. Not presents every time, but time with their parents and a wholesome family with values, love, boundaries to feel safe and secure.

This is a ridiculous movie. Ridiculous. I only kept it playing cos focused on my painting that l didn’t want to stop doing at the time. Lol, even most Hallmark movies are more believable than the storyline of this one😄

My husband (now deceased) and i decided to work on our marriage yrs back when the kids were still small despite having marital problems! It was the best decision yet! Today my 3 sons are adults and I've never regretted that decision at all. Instead I'm proud of the men they have become! Children really have a way to bring parents together! Absolutely love this movie!❤

A modern fairytale
Who are you to decide that a child not to know his father? This grandmother is selfish you dont punish a child to honour mother's memory by keeping them apart. Braggadash as they say in Nollywood. Your parents can never change whether good or bad. If we parents were more honest with the children this world would be a better place

I watched this movie years ago, before the Millennium...I had a Nokia mobile phone then, no social media,no stupid selfies etc.We were young University students.Time flies fast ...I wish the movie had the higher picture quality,480 is not good at all !
The man was very reasonable so he shouldn’t be upset with nonsenses and not allowing him to support his son.
He didn’t know he had a son so it’s not all of this just his fault.
It’s little bit overdramatic,overprotective adoptive mother and grandmother isn’t fair in her grief blaming him for everything.
Still watching and didn’t see the end,but the comments say it’s a happy ending,so love that.

The juvenile court judge, this is what all custody battles should be about. What the child needs and wants, not what two warring parents want that are unjustifiably using their children against each other as a weapon.💞🇬🇧

I believe that - as we walk through life - we often find it hard to understand why happiness seems to meet some in such a friendly way and leave others unattended. I have come to realize that life has its own timing, and when the time is right, it happens. That we don't get what we wanted or wished for doesn't mean we don't have a right to be happy, it means we have something to be happy with and about! Have a blessed, wonderful new year!

Really great character of Kevin showed, a kid so intelligent to get both parents by a court custody demand and tried for their togetherness too. Actually got a nice Dad who said glad to have u here, good night buddy and the child, I like u saying buddy😍
I’m all for letting kids see their parents who want to be in their lives, whatever’s best for the kid.

Except for parents who no show frequently. I’d rather the children weren’t disappointed or made to feel like they aren’t worth the effort. Going through that now with my small grandsons’ father. I’ve witnessed them very upset at times. Sad.

(No sarcasm intended here: it's hitting close to home).
My great grandfather married his sister-in-law's sister to be able to adopt his much younger brother, from a different mother, a baby who has lost both parents in a crash or some traumatic situation like WWII, or both. They weren't blood relations. No genetics involved. They were also from a different time and culture. Yet to this day, at each big family reunion, the topic is raised, the eyebrows are too, and we think it's weird. It's always a headache still for generations old and young to figure out how a son (adoptive son) on one side could also be a biological half-brother on that same side and a cousin on the other side (that's it I have a headache now 🤕🙃) And we try not to raise our voices. It's not really taboo but somehow borderline and we try to be considerate to the older generation. Anyway I'll let you figure out the many combinations. 🤣😊

Far fetching ending though... But it's always nice to watch beautiful Jane Seymour...
At the beginning the film promised badly, a legal battle to fight for the child, then the fairy tale, with an happy ending, luckily for the child above all.
Why didn't he just let them live in a house nearby without this marrying a stranger-stuff?

Common sense beats education everytime
Why are TV movies so darn unrealistic? Jane leaving her car in front of the hospital door is something that would never happen in real life. Just little details can make or break a movie and the producers need to know that. A good movie ruined by stupid small inaccuracies 😮
It's not that serious. It's a TV movie from the 90's. 2 good looking actors with true talent hooking up. It's sex all through this movie. They threw a child, a mother and nurse that became a friend up in the mix. Good Cinderella story. It's suppose to be unrealistic. 😂

How children warm up the heart! It's really hard to understand the struggles and fears inside of a woman's mind, especially if she's alone! "What harm can love do when all harm comes from its lack?" So good to learn from movies and be ahead of unnecessary pain and suffering!

Paddling a canoe is only easy if it was designed ( weighted) properly. When I was a teenager long, long ago (lol) we decided to take a canoe for a boat ride.
We tipped it over and over again walking away in frustration.
