    a fun fact that gets lost in translation: The Unknown tells Tronte, that he has no name - in German: "ich habe keinen Namen". "Keinen" (= no) sounds a bit like "Kain" (Cain), the biblical son of Adam and Eve

    Of all the many, many bootstrap paradoxes in the show, Charlotte and Elisabeth being each other's mothers might be the most in-your-face, but the convoluted way in which Katharina is named after herself might be the weirdest.

    This episode is full of extra information!
    - Although we never get to see what happens with Agnes, there exists a deleted blooper of the show where Doris eagerly runs down the stairs and smiles at a person in a black outfit coming through the frontdoor. This is most likely Agnes coming home to Doris. Claudia's and Adam's dialogue already hinted at Agnes having a happy end with Doris.
    - You guys said that the only the adult Unknown speaks, but the young Unknown "asked" Bernd to give him the keys for the power plant. Sadly the actor of the old Unknown - Hans Diehl - just died a few days ago, the first of the castmembers to go.
    - Yes, the Ouroboros-bracelet was in the show before. Jana wears it in S3E2. It isn't in S1 however; most likely a S3 addition
    - About the table in the notebook: We get a better look at it here (it was still visible in S1) and in the timetravel table the first recorded date is on the 21.6.1986/2019. In S2 we see Claudia and Jonas heading to the caves, they are probably watching how the passage is created and then crawl through it.
    The stories in the triquetra notebook also doesn't really match up with the show: There are lines which are written from the POV of Jonas/the Stranger and there are like 3 or 4 different handwritings; it's really odd.
    - The tunnels don't connect 2052 because nobody closes it down. If the passage wouldn't reset one day, we would get a paradox since at one point the passage connects 53/86/19, if we would wait 33 years then it would connect 86/19/52 under this logic. But this can't be since one could go from 2019 to 53, 86 and 52.
    There is a way to work around this with a theory. In S3E5 alt-Claudia says that the passage exists because of 3 cesium events and this should also apply to Eva's world: The first incident is when origin-Tannhaus machine opens the passage (at this point it would connect 1953, 1986 and 2019 because it's centre in time lies in 86 when Tannhaus uses his machine). The second cesium event would be one of the Erit Lux members closing the passage down like the Stranger did in S1. And the third cesium event would be an Erit Lux member opening the passage in 2019, to relocate its centre in time so that it connects 52 instead of 53.
    - The bunker in Eva's world in 2052, the female Stranger uses as her base is full of information! I can't write every little detail here but a broad overview (however I did a reddit post which goes in great detail of every information): We get to know when Ulrich dies; a good argument for alt-Tannhaus being the creator of the golden sphere; tons of information about alt-characters, like who survives the apocalypse (and how) and who are Erit Lux members who aren't shown on screen; information that confirms that the passage doesn't collaps in Eva's world during the apocalypse (this is most likely why there wasn't any bright light like how Katharina experienced in Adam's world) and Clausen's full name.

      - Good to know at least one of the couples here gets a happy ending... at least until they're wiped from existence. Wonder what episode that scene would've been in and when.
      - Oh I remembered him speaking, but as that remains his only line in the series it barely counts lol
      - Rest in peace to Hans Diehl! It's shocking that it was only a few days ago, wow.
      - Is there somewhere we might be able to look at those pages/lines from the book? (Preferably translated)
      - I'd love a link to your reddit post/account to see that write-up!

    • @ManifoldMold
      @ManifoldMold 4 дні тому

      @@ChannelNamePending699 there are some reddit posts going into some lines from single pages from the book but they are all scattered everywhere and it's hard to find them all. I've saved many of them, but they are not helpful at all.
      I've tried to transcribe them one time, but most scenes are blurry and one can't read anything on them. There are some full pages that were readable but also some lines only under AI-enhancer. I do have the idea to make a similiar post like my bunkerwalls-post just for the book, but I don't know if this is even worth my energy.
      From the things I gathered there isn't anything useful in the book except for the timetravel-chart that was already discussed. The only other clear information were quotes from Einstein; a lengthy excerpt from Schopenhauer's "The world as will and representation"; and somehow the Strangers thoughts during the S1E10 bunkerscene-reveal and about Michael's death.
      I would like to link my bunkerwalls post, but then YT will delete this comment. My username is u/ManifoldMold and the post is pinned on my profile, if that helps.

    (23:02). In my opinion, the round burns on Tronte would also be a symbol that indicates that Tronte is part of the knot (circular time). Just like in season 1 (if memory serves) we also see cut marks on Regina (attempts to escape this absurd world?). These marks would indicate that Regina is not part of the knot (therefore coming from linear or original time).

  • @michaelklaus
    @michaelklaus 4 дні тому +2

    2:00 it is kinda interesting that the Unknown doesn't say that he was Tronte's father. Instead he puts much emphasis on having chosen his name. I think the point here is that the Unknown does not have fathered a child... YET. Not at this point in his subjective timeline. But since his younger self usually hangs around (no, not while doing that) I think what he means is that he chose the name when he, himself was a child and he witnessed Tronte's birth... which he will witness again as an adult when he becomes his father.

      something that isn't discussed often iénough in my opinion is how strange Hannah's choice is to have an affair in the 50s... and with Egon of all people; 34 years ago (from her perspective) she made her allegations against Ulrich... and she made her statement to this man; she knows what will become of him; but I think that a major point in her decision is not only that he was already kinda flirting with her... she also knows how Ulrich will think of him 32 and 65 years after this; I think she is deliberately bedding Ulrich's nemesis

      She does not give it to Hanno, she only shows it to him and them tucks it back in her dress. We see her at the end of the episode (S2E3) looking at the article, at the same time Claudia is killed. So if the Agnes in 2053 in this episode is Agnes *after* S2E3, she should still have the article, not Adam. Hence my confusion.

    34:20 There's one thing you don't seem to have understood at this point. Martha (Earth 2) is not the aunt of Jonas (Earth 1). She is not impossible... (Which has been said several times!) as they are not related! Jonas never existed in Earth 2 and Martha from Earth 1 is dead! She is possible! So they can also have a relationship and can have a child! The only thing that connects both worlds (related) is the ‘unknown’. And think of the mark of Cain!

      Both Marthas in both worlds have identical genes, so she is still genetically his aunt, even if Jonas was never born in her world.

    im not sure the kid between original Jonas and alt world martha would be incestuous.. I believe middle aged martha sorta gives Jonas a hint by saying "in this world, you and martha are not impossible"
    while essentially almost any connection in this show would be incestuous, my point is just that world alpha jonas and world beta martha are not related because jonas doesnt get born in this world

    • @Greyscale11

      It would still be incestuous. Genetically, the pairs of the "same" characters present in both worlds are identical, with the only differences being hairstyles and fashion and such as a result of the differing circumstances and course of events within the respective worlds.
      Jonas and Martha (of his own world) are "impossible" because she is destined to die young. Alt-Martha, however, obviously survives to become her elderly self, Eva.

      I agree that what Egon said was tactless, but can you elaborate on your claim that the men in her life used her? Ulrich and Hannah's affair was a two way street, with both parties willing to cheat on their partners. Hannah already had a lifelong obsession with him, and even accused him of rape to try and break him Katharina up. With Egon, she became his lover once again knowing full well he was a married man (or at least learned he was later on and still kept seeing him). She sees herself as a victim but imo she has zero right to take the high ground here.

I've no idea if she was a nazi, but I do know that she was raped by a russian soldier named Anatoly and that is how Helge came to be. The idea that she was raped is an assumption made by many viewers, when this has never been explicitly confirmed. In fact there's more historical evidence to suggest that Helge's birth was more likely the unintended consequence of a love affair, and that her treatment of him stems from her religious attitude and personal shame at what she saw as a grave sin on her part. For example, the date of Helge's conception/birth does not line up with when the mass rapes of Berlin took place. The statement "not a child of love" doesn't confirm it either as that can mean several things. There's another thread in this comment section that goes into more detail.
      And if you've watched our season 1 reactions you'll know that we have called out characters such as Ulrich, Peter, and Hannah for cheating, multiple times.
