Hours of fun with the lads in this one. All my homies hated Axel. Super Smash Bros 64 was our main go to but, I remember one time we were so ambitious as to have Clayfighter happen one day. This nostalgia is making me sick with envy of the history my 7/8 year old self was mindlessly experiencing.
I appreciate how you provide a lot of guidance and advice when it comes to coming to grips with the game; I bought this game on the PS3 store many years ago and just couldn’t get into it, but I think a lot of this video will really help me finally get into it for real!
I believe EGM gave this Game of the Year back in '96. Definitely agree with you in that it hasn't aged well. Pretty sick for the time, but not something I'd ever go back and play.

Yup. Still playing it to this day, lots of fun. Its funny when reviews say play as the big armor guys but I prefer to play Crimson Fury and Spectre.

It's a pretty tough game, at least if you try to make it through without continuing with level passwords.
I remember playing this for hours everyday as a kid. Great times.
We used to have twisted metal parties when the game came out. There'd be like 10 of us all waiting to play the winner of the previous match 😂.

Yeah I think you're right although I couldn't track down the specific issue where they gave out the end of year awards.
