I'm just going to say it. One of the best, if not THE Best channel on UA-cam. Content, Personalities, Editing, story telling, and progress. It's all right here. All your videos are top notch
I know it's been said before, but it bares repeating....I've watched your channel since you poured your footers; how far you've come is inspiring. Congratulations on the rewards for your hard work. I can't imagine the satisfaction you feel every time you look around. Your home and your family are beautiful. Blessed Be.💜
Your family reminds me of my husband and when we first got married. In time we had 3 kids...2 girl and a boy. And a farm in the hills of ky. We had stock and dogs to watch them. I loved every minute of it. I love watching your videos. And that adorable little girl and Leon and the boys. I am glad your husband is feeling better.
Josh, go to your local Farmer Store and get a pair of Fence pliers. That's all you need for fence building. Amazon has them also. Their called pliers but come with built in wire cutters, hammer, wire stretcher, and fence U shape staples puller, a multi tool. On the home ranch in Montana, we always took a pair no matter the job.
I love watching you two, all of your projects look more than professional! It’s amazing how well you work together… Josh is a lot OCD while Erin defuses what could blow up with her special humor… Josh is crazy talented…. Truly makes my day to see a video!
Sitting here the wife and I, nursing the Covid. Your antics and happiness are very contagious. We know that we will be just fine even at 70, we laugh and love our life together. The best medicine. Keep it up kids.
I am Said from Algeria, which is located in North Africa on the mediterranean, I love what you do, I love the life in out of the town,I wish you happy and a long life, Said form Algeria.
Erin, Josh, when you said 3 years this fabulous story has been running already, I scratched my head! 3 years already? Wow time flys I remember when Josh did auger the first hole for the foundation, or when you both build the first A rafter and erected it! And soon you’re crossing the 1MM sub mark and I can say, I’m one of a million! You guys rock! Keep going and thank you for having g us at your homestead. PS: Josh being out of level in a wall put character on a build, wink, wink, nudge, nudge LOL. I love that banter!
good reply, I have been here since the beginning too. They have helped me recover from the 3 strokes I had in 2018 putting me in this wheelchair , but they didn't kill me and this family has given me support by watching all the building going on, bless you guys and I will walk againg.
I just love you guys.!I love your channel for many reasons: the whole family dynamic,, the simple desire of rural living (and the hard work it takes), your love and partnership and especially your beautiful family. Nearing my 64th year I have lived many existences from beautiful homes in typical Calif neighborhoods, a ranch and certified organic orchard of 350 trees to one of my best lives in an old hunting cabin in the woods with no heat or electricity. Living in the woods by far, defined me and I so appreciate your weekly reminder of the joy of simple living. Erin you are the perfect combination of smarts, beauty and girl you got some grit! and Josh I can't comment about you without tears (good ones) for you remind me so much of my brother Ron who passed way too young at 49. Men folk like you are defined by hard work, integrity and family bond wrapped in a wicked sense of humor. Love it all and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the joy you bring,,,..Merry Christmas guys!
Your kids are great! Being raised right, in the country, work hard, play hard. And they get along so good. They obviously love each other. A perfect life....
Guys, this next phase is gonna be off the charts, with so much of the infrastructure in and now the farm, the kids, the life. We, of course, are at the beginning but totally inspired and humbled by what you have done thus far. We love the diversity of your overall plan, it’s not just buildings and equipment, nor just farm chores, nor just solar, but you’re incorporation of it all together into the mosaic of a happy life. Congrats and cheers, Dan and Elle
Josh, dry wall and spackling are hard. Trust me I did my whole second floor master bedroom. It was a pain in the butt. Just be happy you have a great spouse to help you out and point out your faults.
Greetings from Alaska, Erin and Josh. I just wanted to say that your channel is a welcomed respite during the depths of our Arctic winter. My wife and I have carved out our 80-acre farmstead from raw wilderness and we would not trade our self-reliant lives for anything. May you keep pursuing your goals with passion and integrity.
I'm impressed with all your food storage. Not to mention your ability to live off the land. You guys are truly setup to be self sufficient, prepared for unstable times ahead. I'm working on it with my family too, but not quite there yet. Loved the video.
Josh it looks great! Don’t stress over the little things. You Will one day remember the imperfections and all the wonderful memories that made it yours!

Every since I watched your first video, Erin, I saw something very special about your personality and presentation evolving in your videos. By the fourth video, you had me hooked as you progressed into the best off-grid related video on UA-cam. Although your videography skills are fantastic, I truly believe that it's all of you as a family and the warmth you exude to us, that makes us feel like we are also your extended family. There is nothing close on UA-cam to your channel that holds my anticipation for another video like yours do.

This country needs millions of families like yours, and it would be a much finer place. I really look forward to your videos, because they are so uplifting and positive. Thank you for what you do your videos always make my day.
Erin and Josh, I got in late on your videos so I went back to the very beginning and followed everyone of them, all I can say is fantastic. I will agree with the comments that these are some of the best I have seen. The two of you did a fantastic job for not having any real building skills. I expected Josh to be a professional with wiring and electrical circuits but he has the ability to envision these ideas and solutions in his mind and Erin adds her own insight. What I find amazing is Erin's ability, so mush more than her looks and personality a real pro!! I wish you two all the best, you deserve it.
Woo hoo! Glad you're all mended Josh! My hubby is always watching your videos and I'm usually listening while cooking or cleaning. Really admire what you guys do and you have an awesome family. Happy Holidays! ❤💚❤💚
One gift Erin-Josh need are called self centering drill bits used mostly for hinges since the all but guarantee a screw will drive in straight as well as flush. There a spring loaded bit so it will drill once its aligned in the hole, they come in sets of numerous sizes and are not that expensive to buy or give to others...
Glad to see Josh back, he loafed off long enough. LOL. However, Erin you did an awesome job carrying on while Josh was down. You are an amazing family and the very best on YT.
So pleased you are mobile again, Josh. Thank you all for the wonderful content this year. Some parts of 2021 have been pretty hairy I found and being able to watch your family life each week has lightened my heart considerably and, most weeks has left me with a smile on my face! You have definitely been part of my comfort zone this year. Have a wonderful safe holiday; I am wishing you all the best.

Erin has done dual duties for sure and she is a champ for not only being your nurse but also home schooling, cooking. doing laundry, building, etc. etc. etc. Hey Josh you are one lucky man for sure!!! Josh with all the building your doing invest in a portable sawmill you have a lot of lumber on your property, also build a solar kiln to dry the lumber you cut, you'll save a lot of money! House looks great!
I like the changes you all have made to the deck railing to make everything safer, and the additional freezer will give you all more storage room for meats and other food items to be stored. Those pigs do look great and will be slaughter size next year.

13:53 It is very easy to use a bobcat or tractor bucket to push the T-Stake into the ground. Have someone hole the t-stake vertical where it is to go and move the tractor bucket above the t-stake and then simply lower the bucket pushing the t-stake into the ground.
@@WildWonderfulOffGrid - I see. Now I also understand just how big a pain manual hole digging must be. Although if one hits a rock in my area it is usually a BIG rock. I guess one of those $400 hand-operated gas-powered augers is just as ineffective as well.
A proper appliance dolly is not terribly expensive and is useful for many other things as well. It can help avoid damage to both items being moved and the people doing the moving. I have had one for about forty years and it is still very usable. Some years it has not been used at all. Other years, I or relatives or friends had need for it several times. It doesn't require much storage space. I have always been glad I acquired it.

13:53 It is very easy to use a bobcat or tractor bucket to push the T-Stake into the ground. Have someone hole the t-stake vertical where it is to go and move the tractor bucket above the t-stake and then simply lower the bucket pushing the t-stake into the ground.
Not in the mountains where we live where the ground is solid shale 🤣 Try that here and they literally bend in half
@@WildWonderfulOffGrid - I see. Now I also understand just how big a pain manual hole digging must be. Although if one hits a rock in my area it is usually a BIG rock. I guess one of those $400 hand-operated gas-powered augers is just as ineffective as well.
Yea you haven't seen the videos where they did just that lol. Doesn't work where they are.
Always nice to watch all of your projets and family life every sundays. A massive thanks you from France.
It’s crazy how much you guys do in a day.
Thanks Chuck
Formidable famille. Magnifique Ranch. Bravo Erin & Josh et vos 3 enfants. Bon Noël 🎄🎄🎄 bisous de France 🇫🇷
For your house warming party, hand out tape measures so they can check the front rails and stair distances.
Once again! You guys rock. Glad Josh didn't crush you with the upright fridge. He obviously has his strength back!
