It is so encouraging to see parents teach their children to be responsible, and to introduce them to greater responsibilities in a timely fashion, rather than to wrap them in bubble wrap. Kudos!
🤣 How times have changed... My parents didn't buy my vehicles. I had to mow lawns and detassle corn whatever odd end jobs cleaning up yards etc. Bought a moped at 14 paid for everything including insurance. Definition of teaching responsibility sounds like most Millennials these days...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@centosx I think you're missing the point. Think about how much further you could have made it if you could have bought a small truck instead of a moped because your parents knew they could trust you to take care of it and went 50/50 with you. Imagine that, after giving you more and more responsibility, they decided that after learning to change the oil, check your tires, knew how important road safety is, and the cost of ownership, you could have expanding your lawn mowing business with a vehicle and a better lawn mower with the help of your parents. That's how this works. You don't tell your kid to go work an entire summer for something that you already know they can handle, when you can more than afford to find their dreams and responsibilities, so that they can go further than you ever did. It's about developing a better legacy in your kids, not recreating it.
@@centosx It want simply bought for him. Carter earned that truck by doing the chores on the farm. And it's going to make everyone's life easier on the farm. Win win for the whole family
The greatest book of wisdom of all time says if you raise a child in the way that they should go, when they are old they will not depart from it. You two are going to leave the world with three wonderful kids. Marriage is a partnership, not a fairy tale. However, if you get the partnership right, the fairy tale will follow. We had horses as a kid, so I drove our F-150 in the field at 12 pulling a trailer as my father and older sister were putting and stacking hay on it. Great way to learn how to drive.
Yes indeed, they have put Carter into position to succeed, and I believe he will show mom and dad what he can and will achieve in his new venture, good luck to you Carter!
Carters true character showed through with his excitement on the mini truck but also allowing his brother and sister to be the first to get in and check it out. Awesome sibling role model you guys raised! Congrats on always moving the farm forward.
Quite possibly your best video ever....and y'all have had a bunch of GREAT ones. Carter: "I thought we were coming down here to cleanup" had me smiling because he had no idea and was so appreciative. You packed a lot in this one, Erin. 👏👍

Carter with his mini-truck is so cute! He should give it a name!! And it's so nice to see Binks, your kitty, doing better. Poor thing, she's been through so much. Glad to see she is sticking closer to home!
A lovely episode! First truck, first spring birth, plus the usual fabulous atmosphere that your entire family creates, watching you is a lesson in how family life ought to be done.
