The densification in this ep worked out really well! I would love to see more street trees that have a temperate coastal feel (some suitable pines perhaps) along the Oceanside boulevard but also all throughout central port Douglas - helps add to the character / sense of place of this wealthier coastal area.
Im glad I saved this episode for a relaxing morning session. The beach is the prettiest I've seen anyone build in the game. Love the addition of small beach bars. The stone paths added for the cinematics were chef's kiss!
@@Infrastructurist you're spoiling us recently, I saw that you just uploaded yet another one. Now that's a lovely Sunday evening with your video, as soon as I finish watching my handball team win the final game of the season to get the championship!
I can't believe I'm saying this but the Hillside highrises might be too tall. Even for a self-proclaimed council member & lobbyist for highrise development, it might be a bit too much :D I think a dense development makes sense so close to the city centre & with those views, but a limited height might actually be better.
@Vojta Vajaý as council member of Pine Harbour i would like to see more high rises in the inner city even if it's just 1 super tall skyscraper, and yes i am obsessed with building up
Time to go to the beach! 😎 I'm noticing something with Port Douglas, and it is that the city seems to be "rich". The hilly area and downtown bustling with money and brickville being gentrified the living hell out of it. That makes me wonder: where is the real "low income" area of the city? Where is the real urban decay settling in? Where don't the buses run at night? I'm really curious for that addition. But for now: let's go to the beach! 😎
😎 Beach time! Much of the current city is pretty expensive, that is true. I guess expansion has been a bit slow actually, due to the amount of detailing. I will say that part of Outer Brickville near the harbour is in pretty bad shape - but I am planning to have more low-income areas in the future!
Often in cities in the northern hemisphere, the wealthier side is on the west and the lower income area is east. Industry, prevailing wind from west to east pushing pollution, often dockyards may explain this. So depending where east is on this map, it would make sense. I would think further up where the bridges are.
I love how the beach ties everything together. It looks so lux especially with those high residentail towers. Idk if they have to be this high (getting Hong Kong vibes) but it works fantastically as always.
This is probably the best solution to beaches in CS that can exist. All the vanilla stuff is just so unrealistic and unnatural. This looks like an actual real beach and it's great.
these are my favourite videos to watch while studying, your voice is so relaxing and your building is incredible! im happy to say i was here before your channel blows up and becomes super famous XD
Also, you should have put the volleyball court more on the beach, right above where you put all the chairs and stuff basically separating the beach from the road and the restaurants. You’d NEVER find a volleyball pit that close to a road and that far away from water. Have you never seen top gun?
The skyscraper hotel (office) you turned into a condo might be a bit too close to the highrise beside it, at least given that the side facing the highrise isn’t concrete, but full of balconies. As a city councilor, i think there was definite some lobbying involved ;))
You’re talking about greenery when making a beach? I might be biased because I live on literally a top 3 beach on earth in Destin, Florida, but even further down by Navarre and in Pensacola there isn’t any greenery. Just white sands and clear emerald water forever

Man, nothing better than the feeling of taking a swim fully clothed, carrying a suitcase, wearing a brown suit, and with a submerged dog
Of course! I always wear my finest suit and tie when I go for a swim!

Thank you for the huge compliment Danon - I really appreciate it. Ain't nothing like a good coffee and some chill UA-cam on a weekend morning!

@@dogetodamoon9711 i was just expressing my opinion, ain't one allowed to do that?
@@sykewtf9820 wrong city wrong topic, op wants to talk about port Douglas, go to a different reply section if you want pine harbour topics.
When you do the south beach you should add a long pier!
One of my favorite episodes yet! Love hearing your thought process throughout the build.
02:42 As south beach is next to a road that bends I think good name for it is Bend Beach ;)

I'm guessing there will be something further from the port, behind the bridge or on the other side of the hill even.
Ahh it looks really good, maybe name other beach Moon Beach due its curvature and looks :) Great stuff!
