*"the citizens who can't afford it, look in agony as Port Douglas keeps catering to the rich and forgets about the poor"* Nice build, this really gives me some modern Miami vibes. Curious what's up next on the menu
Oooh, It seems like some tension is breweing then? Low-income citizens of Outer Brickville can now look in fear as multi-million dollar apartments now come with room for multi-million dollar yachts... 💸💸💸💸
Port Douglas continues to become more and more awesome! A small lighthouse at the end of the breakwater might be cool - Milwaukee has a small red one on the lakefront that’s become more of a photo op spot than a functional lighthouse! Also, still think that the incredible growth of Port Douglas necessitates a big medical complex to be the healthcare destination for everyone in the region. Thanks so much and keep doing such an awesome job!
Thanks! I have watched your content off and on since back in the Japan series days. However, I’ve always just watched in awe of the Cities Skylines work, but had not really had fun watching the process as much. Your recent content, on the other hand, has been just so lovely and fun. I enjoy “hanging out” with you while you build and talk about the process. You have such a lovely dry, sarcastic sense of humour.
Hi Ian - thank you so much for the kind comment and donation, wow! And I am really glad that you enjoy this format of content, as I always wonder if it's an unstructured mess of me going "HMMMMM" five hundred times 😊
@@Infrastructurist Make a "HMMM" counter next time lol.. embrace it as a meme of your own creation. That ones for free, i'll be here all week though! ;P
Marinas are like really expensive parking garages so a marina crams as many parking spaces together as they can fit. I would add a whole lot of boats and make the layout more efficient.
it will be nice to have, perhaps at the beginning of each episodes, a little bit of information about the stats in some cities, like inhabitants, important commerce, if possible economic infos and stuffs like that. thanks for your dedication. Great work
Coniferia is amazing!!! You could put like a small lighthouse or light signal at the end/entrance of your marina so they can navigate during nigh-time. Love your videos! ❤
It always amazes me that when I look at your building process I sometimes question the decisions made, but then the end result is always simply perfect!
Great video! Couple of suggestions-you placed the accessible parking space at Franks restaurant furthest from the entrance.. Also, it would be cool to have an invisible path from the beach to the boat ramp/boat yards, and then maybe a boardwalk through the wilderness area towards the small new park (which could do with some public bbq/grill facilities, bins, some swings for the kids, etc!). This would let people walk all along the coast, which people tend to do!
Great build, looks so good. Small thing is the one part of the marina closest to the beach, I feel like boats would run aground bc the water is so shallow! Just looks a bit off. Regardless, loved the vid. Keep ‘em comin!
Great build! I was hoping you would use the sea wall as extra dock space, in real life a well built sea wall like that would most definitely be used for more docks. I would recommend more boats though, marinas like this are packed, every spot on the dock would be used.
I have to say that I like the Let's Play format better than the speedbuild-format. The slow-paced work is just so chill and "hyggeligt" to watch, and I like how you explain your process meanwhile. Also, you might not even have though about it, but do you want to build an airport in Coniferia at any point?
Hi Bert - glad to hear that, I really appreciate the input on the different types of formats - I like to mix it up! And yes, I am committed to finally building a proper airport in this game and have slowly begun collecting some assets. 😊
I don't know if its been done yet and I've missed it because I'm new to the your channel and still catching up...but I would love to see your take on a nightlife area. I.e. bars, night clubs, restaurant, theatre district, etc!
The only thing i would do differently is having the boat ramp inside the breakwater. Wouldnt want waves crashing where your trying to get boats in and out of the water
Hahaha, thanks man, really appreciate it! And yeah, it's like an addiction. Walking home early morning, the clubs have closed down - but you just got that urge to continue the party, since all the other partygoers where so vanilla. Some dude jumps out in front of you, opens his sleazy trench coat - and his inner pockets are just lined with custom assets and workshop goodies. Like he's got everything - it's irresistible. "You want some of this good stuff homie?" "YES" 👽
Hi, very nice build, I’ve been in marinas all my life and there’s 2 things I want to suggest you. 😊 1. The crane and the ramp must always be inside the walls, those perform delicate manoeuvres and the boat, crane and the trailer are expensive, so it’s better to reduce as much as possible the risk of waves interference. 2. To perfectly position your break walls, you must see where the currents are going (trough the water system interface) and place a wall that prevents waves for entering. In this specific case it looks like you’re in a river and the currents go from the petrol boats to the port, so I would build the wall parallel to the river longer and reduce the dimensions of the wall perpendicular to the river
Splendid build on the Marina. And the Fish Market is a necessity for the citizen, i wonder if you could make it larger and more public, like The Public Fish Market in Seattle, or Tsukiji Market in Tokyo. I bet, It would be so nice :D
This beach detail are amazing! One of the best job ever seen. Im taking inspiration from this series to make a new map. One thing. I've tried your theme mix but the owl Los Angeles theme with ntrh grass don't look like that
Your videos are incredible! I have seen many creators in City Skylines, but your love of detail surpasses them all. You inspired me to build my own town, so I bought the DLC and got started. However, after 10 hours I realized that the base game is absolutely not designed for creating realistic cities. I had to install a few mods to fix highways and traffic, but it still wasn't enough. Now I will try to install the same mods and learn how to use them, so that through trial and error I can finally make the town the way I want it to be. By the way, do you have a manual for the mod set you are currently using? (list, installation, functions) With love from Kyiv 💛💙
There are a lot of mistakes by architects and designers in my city, but I'm too lazy to write complaints or get involved in legislative changes. Therefore, the best way to make yourself happy is to build a perfect virtual city. Thank you for inspiring to create!
Thank you for the incredibly kind comment - I am very happy and flattered to have inspired you! I don't have manuals, unfortunately, but for most major mods, you will be able to find great tutorials here on youtube. Sending my love and thoughts to beautiful Kyiv 🌹
you do an amazing job, it's always a great pleasure to watch you. I would like to know your PC configuration and the mods with which you create all this, maybe I’m not very attentive if you already indicated this somewhere, I just always have conflicts between mods and I can’t pick up
Plz😊 Baseball stadium is still lacking post game pubs and bars for a cold one with lads🍻 You got some prime empty estate between the marina boat parking and the appartments near the café. Just sayin😏👌
What are those semi-large trees that you use for forest/filler nature? (leafy and dark green) Are they from the workshop? They look like oaks almost but they don't appear the same as the oaks in my game. You always use the picker tool so I can never see the name of them.
Hello! Sorry for my english, I'm not a native speacker. I really like your videos and your style and the way you build. I have a suggestion! Like at min 9:00 I have faced too the PO problem with decals but there is a simple and quicker way to solve it. Pick a decal with PO, then go to "customization" and raise the two upper points. What happen is that: decals are in a sort of box and if this box goes underground they disappear, just like in your video. Now it is time consuming to move up and down every decal, specially if you are working on hills or uneven terrains, but if you raise the two upper points and then copy/paste the decals the detailing work will be much and much more enjoyable. You will find a better explanation in this video where I found this super usefull trick. ua-cam.com/video/9EOvCctxFXU/v-deo.html At min 43:20 you tried to pick the road with Move it. Wonder how Skylines 2 relates to these heavily modded games. Looks so cool these mods. Too bad console doesn't let me engage in the modded game, and I'm dependent on the devs and their awesome but limited and at times slow paced delivery of content.
