What have i done to deserve this treat, both you and Egg making network planing videos, my favorite!
It will be more creative and fun to try to stick with the 9 original tiles before the mod. This way the eventual unlocking of the rest of the map will be much more rewarding and anticipated! Great network as always!
In my humble opinion, please play with the 9 tiles first. Building along with you on console.
Agree
I'm learning the game unmodded first and want to see what the scope of 9 tiles can be for an experienced player 🎉
@@harrietwilhelminadevos5154in a word: painful. 😅
The idea of the separate collector has literally never crossed my mind and it turned out so well! Also those new bridges are 10/10 better!
I’ve been watching Tour de France on TV, find myself studying all the road layouts and occasional interchanges from the helicopter footage. Watching you build this was even better.
lovely work on the intersection If I were you i'd look into adding a 4-lane highway in the eastern connection and a 2-lane highway where the connection merges it will do wonders for your traffic flow
this was some of the most satisfying cities skylines builds i've ever watched. i can only hope to achieve this level of patience combined with an eye for realistic detail someday!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! 😄
Great job. Kudos for the perseverance! I'd forgotten how much of a pain intersections are in vanilla because it's been so long since i built one. There's no way that I can play anymore without moveit and the other quality of life mods that to me at least, are an essential part of this game now. I really feel for the console players, i started on console and moved to Steam in about a week because it was so frustrating.
For the part at 8:02, there actually is a much easier but slightly more expensive method to create smooth curved slopes:
So you will need to lower the terrain between the bridge and the road you want to connect it to as much as you can and then connect the two roads with road guidelines on. That way, the game will be forced to create a bridge because the terrain would be too low to bring the road down and at the same time, it's going to give you a really smooth slope.
Great video btw, keep it up!
Beautiful interchange, how you get beautiful slopes without the sloping tool is amazing.
and node controller with sloped nodes...or move-it.
What a stunning interchange, built in vanilla :O loved it!
I saw the Thumbnail and thought 😳
😂😂 you make road networking look sooo easy 😅 Just love your builds soo much ♥️
That interchange has just wrecked my head. I love it but I'll have to watch the the whole thing again to understand just what you've done. also I vote for the 9 tiles first.
Think it would be best to play 9 tiles first as that’s still how many people play this game. And for those of us who play 25/81 can still build along
Thanks for not using your channel to hype cities skylines 2 (yet😂)
This series has inspired me and i will be trying to replicate things in CS2. I want to actually build my own interchanges this time around with CS I've always been too scared to before so this is a nice beginner one
Ooh, that came out better than I'd feared (not that i should have)
I suggest sticking with 9 tiles until you need a tile you can't buy.
I've watched so many cities skylines videos for entertainment. This is the first one I've watched just to learn something. Not only did I learn what I was after, but also the detail you added to the junction at the end was such an eye opener as well as super satisfying to watch. You should do asmr. I can watch you build an entire town like that in fast forward. anyways that was awesome. Liked and subbed.
Ahh thank you! 😄
I really like how the city is turning out.
Love your techniques and builds.
Can't wait for tiles expansion
Thank you!
A Vanilla Skylines video worth watching. Congrats!
Still cements my opinion that Cities Skylines is unplayable without mods
Ahh, its good to watch someone with the same perfectionist itch as me but with the patience to actually see it through haha
Super cool interchange! Maybe paradox/CO need to get you hired as quality control 😆
I struggle so much with traffic and public transport and youre just over here la dee da building it no problem 😅😂❤
It looks really nice! You are a great builder in Cities!
Absolutely loving this build. I was a little unsure about those on ramps at first but they made so much sense once completed. You're the best detailer on UA-cam in my opinion and again, this did not let us down. But with all those trees placed you're probably at an elevated risk for forest fires. If you haven't turned off fires, I'd suggest a helicopter hub with fire helicopters etc in the next episode to safeguard against such a disaster.
Amazing interchange! The highway correction was sooo satisfying! Considering how old this map is you can really see how far the game has come.
This inspired me to make what I’d call my best modded interchange today, what a difference detailing and just spacing things out more does keep it up few 🎉
great results in underrated channel...
Being lazy and less patient, I'd stay with NMT & MoveIt for convenience😁
🎉🎉🎉I caught it almost on time… I’ve been with since the Start of Auridon… You are by far one my favorites…
It's your last vanilla before cs2!! Open it all up and make the best of it to end with a bang
Brilliant. I love the way you create a city
Love how you make this look so good even in vanilla!! I'll be taking some of your tips and ideas and pretty up some of my slightly scuffed interchanges I've built 😁
1:38 nice rhymes yo
Network planning is so much fun. I personally think infrastructure builds are what makes the game fun cuz it provides an interesting challenge. Very much enjoyed this build. Stylistically, what I may have done differently for the sake of not having to have the incline/declines on bridges over the rivers would be to instead sink the highway on that landmass because it already sits much higher than the other two landmasses. Not only would this have kept the bridge slopes from being so “severe” (they’re not severe but you know what I mean) but also it would’ve made the major interchange easier to build; keeping most of the bridges for that interchange below the tree line. Of course ultimately for a 5 way Interchange you definitely built something much simpler than I would’ve so your bridge heights for the interchange aren’t as severe (as I probably would’ve built something with flyovers and stuff cuz they’re fun to build and look cool to me regardless of their footprint…gotta marvel at the engineering lol)
All in all, super enjoyable episode. Looking forward to the next one!
I've tried to do interchanges myself and they seldom turn out as I envision in my head. They end up chunky and unappealing so I use workshop interchanges. Way to go Few!
That's really elaborate, great inspiration
Love a network episode. Always a joy to watch. Thanks Few.
Very nice work on smoothing out that highway and those bridges!
On the non-built-up side of the new intersection, I don't understand why you chose to curve the exit-slipway (furthest from the highway) all the way around the trumpet to rejoin the entry slipway, and then split off again to go to the intersection with the collector road from the other side?
Sending it straight ahead, after the initial curve where it splits off from the trumpet, would bring it to that same intersection. That would make it a 4-way intersection, but save a little on extra roadway length and avoid two merging/splitting points, which tend to be the danger points for collisions at speed on highways and highway sliproads.
The intersection will need traffic lights anyway, so making it 4-way should not make it more dangerous.
That interchange is a thing of beauty!
Well Done!!!! This is an amazing junction. Luv the tree work and overall look. Amazing!
oh for the tiles. Do what you like FC. If you want do if not then do anyway :D
I just LOVE watching traffic flow. . .
The more often I see it done in CS, the more I think: interchanges between highways are so much better when also some collector road is integrated into it in some way - at least a few sliplanes. Love the detailing around all the road, feels very natural despite all the curves and corners in it. I wonder if you had considered putting the through-highway into a gully - so it stays level between the two bridges - and thus allowing the collector to be at ground level and not slope up? Can't wait to see the collector get more use once you build on the other side of it.
so much nicer than that crazy spaghetti from before!!!
Love your techniques!
Loving this intersection FewCandy ❤
I wouldn't mind if you unlocked the 25 tiles straight away, nor playing the 9 tiles first tbh :)
Also, personally I'd change the roads coming into the collector into 2+1 roads, so they have specific lanes to turn left and right. But maybe it's not necessary with vanilla traffic..
Amazing looking interchange regardless, you never fail to entertain with your amazing builds
The MS Paint previews make my day
😂🙌
Really like the growth of the city but the videos are missing a bit of intro music 🎶 just to give the city a unique sound like Auridon has.
Love the interchange. I think it's fine to unlock 25-tile early for more freedom in deciding the overall build area in general.
No, we finish vanilla first, then we look to further options :)
You make that look so easy! I can't build a complex interchange to save my city. No matter how careful I plan, I always end up with the plate of spaghetti. Straight, flat bridges? No problem! Any interchange beyond a simple diamond? 😵💫
I have a lot of practice! But keep trying new things, take it slow and you'll get there!
Up to day!… JAJAJA!… what a run!… 😂
maybe use industrial road for the ring road i think the bridge would look cool
Few Candy sure knows her curves... 🤣 Good episode Few.. 😎👍
Superb! Do you upload episode to workshop!!?
The saves will be available to everyone every 10 episodes. Just patreons get every episode. So next time, it will be up!
Now this Interchange looks like it's been sponsored by dbrand... You should defs see if they want to make an offer!

I'm new to Cities: Skylines, and I'm aware there's already a second version. Could you please suggest which expansion packs add significant features and not just new buildings? Thanks!
Amazing 😍
so basically you first built a complex interchange in your modded series and then said "this ain't hard enough of a challenge, let's do this in vanilla" 😵
😂 I do like a challenge!
I just love your voice 😂😊❤
BL££#Y MARVELOUS!!!! great vid 👍
Vanila.... with 25 tiles? Have i missed something or can you do 25 in vanilla on PC
what height do you set your bridges at to make sure traffic can clear underneath
In vanilla it usually has to be 9m, in modded you can get away with 7 or 8
@fewcandy, how do you get the vegetation under the trees 🌴? Im assuming console works differently, im unable to do that 😢
Yes I believe console has a harder collision matrix built in so it's easier to get things closer on PC unfortunately!
@@fewcandy bugger :(
oh wow this was unexcepted!
Go with the 9 for the console players...then to 25 for the Remastered players...Now hook up the controllers for awhile and see how you can do it that way...LOL
25 it up!
Finally found a channel that has a nice vanilla city... I play n console... but how is the pollution not affecting the trees? Can i get that on console??
I do use the mod hide it to visually remove the look of the pollution as it's a nicer viewing experience, but this isn't available on console unfortunately! The pollution is still there in my city though!
@@fewcandy Ok cool thanks... figured some light mods were in use later on in the vid after seeing you put trees on shrubs when detailing the highway. Hope console can get that in CS2 without mods.
Sugar maple is not affected by pollution and looks healthy even in dirty environment (credits to Captain Ahvious)
Open it up with 25 tiles
This looks like a turnpike interchange
Please unlock all tile ❤️❤️
What map is that?
Wolf Creek, I believe it's part of the Campus DLC!
What hump?!
The vanilla maps' interchanges and bridges are the worst!😆
They really are! 😂
😃
Why an off ramp to an on-ramp in sames direction on the same highway?
Why not just glue it into the intersection with the surface road?

My fav type of episode!! 💗
I don’t think they tried too hard on vanilla intersections for the sole reason that there’s no point. Players are gonna either remove it or change it regardless. Plus it gives them a bit of a challenge to learn and improve their own intersection creation. They’re clearly capable of making nice intersections based on the default ones in the intersections tab for roads.
