You do a great job of showing off deep creek. All the other videos I’ve seen dont do it justice. I’ve been here many many times and it never gets old. AWESOME VIDEO.
OMG...this is my favorite space in August. I feel like a kid again when I am there. Enjoy!!!! Thanks for the video and they should hire you for a commercial for the State. Happy Trails ;-)
Thx for your tutorials I’m in Ontario north of Toronto and we just bought our first motorhome and excited about heading south and your videos are very helpful.
Hi Deb. Thanks so much. Glad you're finding the videos helpful. The leaves are just now turning in the deep South and expecting the first cold snap, may be mid 40s tonight. Safe travels. Jerry...
The Smokies campgrounds are really nice. Balsam mountain cg. Is high elevation for something different. Be advised it's cold up there. I love the enchanted forrest.
I have hiked and fished Deep Creek for over 50 years usually use two cars, one up on 441 and one at campground spend 2 or 3 nights fishing and camping, Have even fished right fork of Deep Creek where no trail goes to , virgin forest at top of creek love these mountains!!
Thanks Thomas. We didn’t stay in the National Park. Our 5th wheel wouldn’t fit. The sites I walked through had no power or water. I did see smaller pull behinds and Class Cs, but guess they were using the occasional generator for power. On the road leading to the park, we stayed at Smoky Mountain Campground. No frills, but full hook up and we could tube from the National Park to the back of our camp site. There were 2 others close by one creek side and one on the other side of the road. Just a heads up. This place is busy during the summer. You’ll want to book soon if you have a weekend in your stay.
I went! But ended up not tubing (long story, but I'll be back) - I should have gone because it was an absolutely glorious day (Tue 6/11/19). I hiked around and got the lay of the land for about an hour. It is so much fun to look back on this video now and say, "I know where that is," and "I was there!" and "Hey! I used the bathroom at that pavillion!"
I'm coming down to North Carolina this up coming weekend. I want to go tubing, I tubed down with the Onculuftee tour a few months ago. Would you recommend Deep Creek or Onculuftee tubing tour??
Don’t know the latter. We stayed at a campground on West Deep Creek Rd. There are 2 places at the entrance of the Park where you can rent tubes for,the day. It’s just a short walk in the Park and tube.
OK OK I want to go there lol. I do have trouble walking very far unfortunately and wanted to ask if you tube down the river is there a destination where someone can pick up tubers and bring them back to camp. Also wanted to ask if Class C Campers are allowed to camp on the premises? Are there any electrical, water hookups or sewer stations? i liked your video and subscribed to your channel.
It’s a bit of a walk from drop off point to the first area for tubing. It’s flat, maybe a couple hundred yards. This park is tent and small campers. No hook ups. But, there is a private campground located at the entrance that has full hook ups.
Bill, I'll be glad to share. We'll be returning home sometime in November. I'll put something together so you can get an early start on your Christmas list. Jerry....
It’s a bit of an adventure. We are 40 feet and just fit. There are 2 spots on the left that would work. The big issue is the West Deep Creek Road leading to the campground from Bryson City. Very narrow and there is a very sharp curve with a rock hill that you have to drive in the opposing lane to keep from raking the side of a long 5th wheel. I’ve gone there several times. Actually left the campground this morning. You really need to be at the top of you skills and take your time.
I Love RV Life Thank you. We are just getting into rving. Might be something we can do as we get more seasoned. I just love all your videos. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos. I’m from and I live in Georgia myself. You are such an inspiration. Would love to meet you and your wife while camping.
Would you recommend Deep Creek over Cade's Cove for RV Camping? I have a 37' fifth wheel toy hauler...not sure if we can fit into either camp ground? I'll check the state park website but wondering what anyone knows about the best spots to camp with a larger fifth wheel rig for reasonable rates?
The road to both is very narrow. The challenge is leaving. About halfway back to town there is a sharp curve and vertical rock wall a few feet from the road. I made it with my 40 foot 5th wheel, but it was touch and go requirng me to stop on coming traffic to make a wide swing. There were other big rigs at both campgrounds who made the same trek. You would need to be comfortable with your driving skills. There is a basic park on the main road just outside of town along side of the river that's easy to get to.
Thanks! Appreciate the tips! 3rd camper, comfortable towing, but this is the biggest at 37' just bought last fall so still will be getting used to is some. Sounds doable if were careful and take it slow if needed, with stopping even if needed as you say to make the wide turn on the way out. Glad to hear you have a 40' FW, I'll be watching more your channel to see any other tips you may have on your travels! Appreciate it!!!
True. This is usually a stop in the middle of a couple month trip. It's that home away from home thing. But agree, that curve is a doozie and bet a small camper just scoots around.
@@iLoveRVlife When you go back to Deep Creek, they are another road across the bridge by the Ranger Station, take it back into town, hardly any traffic and very straight. It is on the other side of the creek from where you camped. When coming into deep creek you can take the bridge right outside of town where deep creek runs into the river, follow the bottom road about 2 or 3 miles, you will come out near the Ranger Station. You can just google East Deep Creek Road, Bryson City NC. Thanks for the video!

Thanks a bunch. Hoping to escape the heat and head to the Creek this summer. Fun place.
We have reservations to camp two nights in June. Thanks for the overview. We enjoyed it!
Have fun. We’ll miss this year. Kids are going back. They love tubing in the creek.
OMG...this is my favorite space in August. I feel like a kid again when I am there. Enjoy!!!! Thanks for the video and they should hire you for a commercial for the State. Happy Trails ;-)
Oh Lady Jay....if only. Glad you like the video. I still have a couple yet to show from the area. We had a great time!
Deep creek is my second home,I have been going there since before I was even born.
One of our favorites.

Hi Beth, Such a cool place. We're planning to go back next year.

Isn’t that something! It’s a great place and the sights are some kinda pretty.

great review. btw, do you have internet signal when you were there?
Thanks. We did with AT&T and Verizon. A little above average.
Pretty area to say the least! I have an idea, how about a video showing camera equipment you use for your videos?
Bill, I'll be glad to share. We'll be returning home sometime in November. I'll put something together so you can get an early start on your Christmas list. Jerry....
👍👍👍
Is this campground big rig friendly. We have a 42 ft 5th wheel

Thanks so much for the very kind comment Linda. Joan and I hope our paths cross. Safe travels.
You need to update your camera to 1080 60p or 4K. It will make a world of difference in clarity.
They have areas where you can swim?
Hi Wade. There’s the creek. It has some still areas in a couple of turns, but nothing like a pool. It’s best known for tubing.
This is the area where Polly Melton vanished without a trace in 1981.
Go to the backcountry with a piece of black plastic for shelter, that's primitive, I tell ya what. Lol
Is is first come first served

It’s nice but getting way to crowed
Weekends and the July 4 is busy. Rest of the time is pretty laid back.
