I also do the Koa campground plus ga state parks& SC state parks especially lake greenwood we reserve it a year in advance so we get the same site every year.the site is full hookups. The Koa give you a 10% discount plus the 7th night free
New subscriber I just love watching this channel. You are such a lovely person with a mind of information. I live in Northern Ireland so this just fascinates me. Love looking at all the beautiful places. I particularly love Southern States of America.
Thanks so much Valerie. The Eastern part of the US has such varied terrain from mountains to the beaches. Much more planned for this year. BTW, we Neal's are of Irish descent. I think many settled in the Virginia, Tennessee and Carolina hills because it reminded them of home. Thanks much for watching. Jerry...
I use Trip Advisor all the time. I would also suggest if you so use Trip Advisor, than leave a review yourself and let people know how you feel. Trip Advisor is also a great way to find the local restaurants that are good as we don't like to eat at chains.
Thanks Jerry! We are full time and use Good Sam and Trip Advisor as well. I wanted to mention I love your videos on St. Augustine and Ocean Grove. We have been coming to this city for years and am totally in love with it. Your enthusiasm for Ocean Grove led us to stay here a few weeks ago, and then return to spend the winter! We wouldn’t have come to Ocean Grove if it wasn’t for you so a big thank you! We hope to see you here someday! P.S. Prohibition Kitchen is awesome! Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks for the kind comment and glad to hear from you all. St. Augustine is such a cool place. Joan and I fell in love with the beach scene there a number of years ago. Then you cap off the stay at Ocean Grove, it's just hard to beat. Prohibition Kitchen is good find in Old Town and for us, the oysters rockefeller were a treat. Hope we have the opportunity to meet one day soon. Jerry...
I Love RV Life I agree Through your you tubes we are stepping out into new territories KOA makes selecting their campgrounds all too easy. Thank you for your sharing all things RV!!!!!!
The way I go about campgrounds is giving them a chance and if we dont like it we dont go back but I am still new to camping as an adult so I dont like spending too much per night
Looking at the reviews aren't 100%, but gives a reasonable idea of the campground. I can usually tell quicky if this is a place to consider or bypass altogether.
Great point on Trip advisor! l We read terrible reviews on a few that staff was rude. took a chance and best camping experience so far. we are going back next month. Always take a good attitude it can take you a long way. Great tips. Thanks for your videos! l
Thanks Jerry ! We just subscribed to your channel. We like the way you are very descriptive and informative in your videos. We are new to rv ing. We just purchased a 2011 38 foot Keystone Montana 5th wheel. We live in south Florida and our first trip will be somewhere close, other than our back yard. Do you know of any nice places. Thank you for your great videos.
Welcome to the tribe!! Thanks much for the kind comments and appreciate you subscribing. We so enjoy creating the content and sharing with others. Since you're new to the RV lifestyle and your first 5th wheel, I suggest staying close to home on your first couple of trips. This will minimize the stress of you first long haul. You mentioned south Florida. We haven't ventured that far south yet. Use the Good Sam campground website at www.goodsam.com/campgrounds-rv-parks/. They do a good job and is one of our base references prior to mapping out our trip. If you're not used to backing the big boy into a back-in spot, try and find a pull through for your first couple of stops. One other tip, Joan and I follow the 330 rule - no more than 330 miles in a day and we alway pull in for the night no later than 3:30 in the afternoon. Takes the stress and fatigue away from the traffic and pulling the 5th wheel. You never want to pull into a RV park at night. We've done it. Never again will I try to back the 5th wheel in the dark :)
FYI my Mom just got her senior pass and talked to ranger and he said that he had no information that price was going up but heard other people say it that was last month June 2017. I want to applaud your own views on Army Corp parks we had lake front heaven for $26 a night. Twin Lakes on Lake Hartwell. Sc state parks are great we live in Sc but still one of the best. Can't wait to stay at some of Georgia parks that you have reviewed! Happy Camping
Oconee Point is also on Lake Hartwell and part of Army Corp system. Still in SC though. Haven't stayed there yet but it's on our ever growing list. We are planning a Charleston trip in the fall with my MIL and plan to stay at James Island County Campground...thanks for the awesome review of the campground. Happy trails!
Lisa, thanks for the kind comments. I'll make sure Joan and I look at Oconee Point. You all will really like James Island. Make sure you have some great coastal Carolina scrimp and grits while you're visiting!
Thanks for the tips, thoughts and the web links. I will try Good Sam and Trip Advisor. We used RVParky and it works fairly well, but it's always nice to have lots of options and tools.
Occasionally. Still follow the same pattern. If I can't find something in a area, I'll go to the Allstay website. Will still verify with Google and Tripadvisor before I make a reservation.
Hi Valerie. We have a wide range of campgrounds here. Here we have private ownership campgrounds, the State government has public land with many having parks along with campgrounds, the Federal government has National Parks, Corps of Engineer Parks (these often along major waterways) along with Bureau of Land Management with most having campgrounds. Lots of options and most very affordable.
What do you do for entertainment in a campground beside certain in a trailer all day long I don't see any lakes where you can take a boat out and go fishing
Oh let's see. For us, the camper isn't there for entertainment. It's our home away from home during travel. We research to see what sites are in the area - hiking, museums, music, vineyards, space centers, photography, panned for gems this year, national parks, find interesting foods unique to an area and so much more. Then there's the fun of meeting new people and making friends all over this great country. The reason for no boat or lakes, We don't fish. Have no issue with it, we just have so much more to see and do.
I wouldn't mention Good SAM because Camping World is the same company. Camping world has THE worst reputation for nripping people off. PS: I have first hand knowledge of this... Boooooooooh Good SAM and Camping World...
I know. It’s a hot mess. I wish I could say something nice about Camping World. We’ve all had issues. The little 10% is a nice Good Sams benefit at campground and emergency purchases when you can’t wait on Amazon (such as when our water pump failed while traveling). Truly understand your frustration.
I also do the Koa campground plus ga state parks& SC state parks especially lake greenwood we reserve it a year in advance so we get the same site every year.the site is full hookups. The Koa give you a 10% discount plus the 7th night free
We too have a couple favorites that are every year go to’s.
Love your videos! I’m sure you’re aware of this now but for others: State Park’s sites can be reserved specifically now- which is nicer.
Thanks Lydia. Yes, since this was created, many states now register by site. Makes RV travel much easier.
Thanks! Great tips! 😊✌🏼🍷
So glad to hear you’re enjoying the channel.

I Love RV Life So your name is Jerry Neal that is a very Irish name xxx.
It is. We trace our roots to the Clan MacNeils.
I Love RV Life Would you believe me if I told you there are MC.Neils that live in our village xx
Wow. Long lost cousins :)

Hi Wes. I’m glad you shared this. Agree, if used, support. We add Trip Advisor reviews for campgrounds and restaurants on a regular basis.

LOT,S OF VALUABLE INFORMATION,THANK YOU PATRICK.P
Hi Patrick. Glad I could share.
I just found your channel and become a big fan. yours are very useful info for me.
Thanks a bunch Alex.
Hi Jerry, do y’all ever stay in KOA Kampgrounds? I am wondering why you have not mentioned KOA.
Hi Princess. We haven’t. Most are nice, but usually don’t fit our budget.
I Love RV Life
I agree
Through your you tubes we are stepping out into new territories
KOA makes selecting their campgrounds all too easy.
Thank you for your sharing all things RV!!!!!!
They do. Thanks a bunch and safe travels.

Glad to help Ron. RVParky continues to expand. I too like the app. Jerry....
Some may have had a problem posting comments. Apologies all. I accidentally hit a setting preventing comments. All has been corrected.
Merry, your videos are great; I M going back to try and watch all of them. You did not mention RV Parky in this video. Do you still use them?
Occasionally. Still follow the same pattern. If I can't find something in a area, I'll go to the Allstay website. Will still verify with Google and Tripadvisor before I make a reservation.
what are your thoughts on KOA sites?
Hi Duncan. They are a little on the pricey side, but most are very nice.
KOA is OK :) little expensive.
I’m European what’s a State Park as opposed to some other parks.?..
