I've been watching Tasty Classic since the beginning, it was a shorter than usual episode this week so decided to give the podcast a look, so glad I did, you two made me laugh a lot, gave me some serious stuff to think about and gave me some ideas for the future, I will be watching all the others and have subscribed, keep up the good work guys
Love the podcast, I too got rubbish results at school played catch up now 66yrs old never been out of work. Got my PPL at haverfordwest flying club happy days. First car Austin A35 hated it then bought a Capri 1600GT with twin webbers excellent or should I say " Niiiiiice"
I subscribed to tasty classics only because of the resto of the Capri and because Ben seems a decent/genuine guy. Not interested in how fast a car goes round a circuit…i wanna see a good guy enthusiastically restoring a car from my past..great stuff. Interesting podcast btw. Good stuff.
Another belting video guys. The Bentley sounds like such a great idea, and is bound to be a massive hit with subscribers.. The Vitesse has me waiting with great anticipation. I had one, donkeys years ago. I fell in love with it at the time. Unfortunately, I was a penniless apprentice at the time, and couldn't afford the insurance premiums. Would love another one, but have nowhere to work on it, and too old and knackered to do it anyway.
Thanks for listening to our bollox on your night shift. If you wouldn’t mind sending an email to wynnegarratt@mac.com and I’ll get the book over to you. Very much appreciated.
As it happens I am listening to this whilst restoring an MG Midget. Up for sale at £3500 but I got it for £1400, it really is a buyers market. I also have a Porsche 944, Triumph GT6 and a more modern Toyota Celica. I love the MG, I had one in the 90's because I wanted one in the 70's as a kid. Same as the 944 as a young bloke in the 80's, the Celica because it's incredibly reliable and cost peanuts to buy. It's modern enough (2003) to keep up with modern stuff but old enough to tinker with. Can you imagine Gen XYZ+ getting all moist in 20 years time over a Testicle model S at a car show?
@wynnegarratt3773 love the banter and background info from your flying days & the plane/car /sausage banter 😁🤣. Looking forward to yourself and Ben interviewing various people, as suggested in your latest podcasts. It'll be great mate 👍
@WheelsandWingsPodcast no worries mate, loving the pod & the tasty classics stuff. Keeping me well entertained and educated too. You guys have the knack of explaining stuff, in a way a nugget like me can understand 😁 👍
Thanks for another great podcast!!! I must say, this is probably the best sounding one yet (and I used to be a sound guy). Fucking brilliant :). And Wynne, I would love to review your book if that's still a thing. Cheers :)
@@kelquadrant Thank you for that. Ben has been working hard on the sound quality so that’s great to hear. It’s absolutely a thing, that’s very kind of you. If you wouldn’t mind sending a contact to wynnegarratt@mac.com I’ll get the book over to you.
Great chat guys, I totally get the Bentley thing. The price of big engined cars like this and the RS Audi’s and M Beemers from early/mid 2000’s is crazy and too good to ignore.
What amazes me about picking up old cars on websites these days is that when I was buying 1970’s cars as a teenager in the 1980’s they were almost always super dodgy and full of holes (and they were always available for viewing in the dark after it had rained). Now the same kind of cars are coming up for sale (40 years later) in ‘good’ condition and people re buying them sight-unseen. But I guess the ones I owned have all been scrapped (a quick search on the MOT website confirms they are all long gone), and the ones still around were truly well looked after and stored well - other than dodgy Austin 1300’s you find in a barn in mid-Wales 😅
I loved the wheeler dealer's Bentley mulzan episode so yes a Bentley mate I used to go to RAF Finningley in the 70s remember red arrow and concord flying together i loved the v bomber fleet victor vulcan lighting i meen we had shakelton bombers as our early warning system in 70s upto 80s
Wynn as a model builder i have built alot of the british RAF jets you talk about and like to read books about them as background info. You should write a book about your RAF stories i would buy that. Also on a note of the red arrows when they do rhyl airshow they use Hawarden as a base so its cool to see them flying in and out in formation over ours in connah's quay.
It’s a good point, I might do that. Yeah they have always used Hawarden as a hub for air shows close by. RAF Valley used it as a diversion airfield quite often too, so I’ve been in there a few times. Thanks for listening, hopefully there’s a TMk1 Hawk amongst the models.
Thanks for that. Love doing the bar cast. If you wouldn’t mind sending a quick email to wynnegarratt@mac.com and I’ll get the book over to you. Very much appreciated.
Good luck with the Bentley Ben! It will be a labour of love, so you better use Rob as much as possible! 😂😊👍

@@WheelsandWingsPodcast I’m sure you’ll find a solution somehow.
Yes - I'll read your book.

Thanks for that, glad you like it.
I think the last car to carry the Vitesse badge was a Rover possibly the 800 or 216 which was a great wee motor, my old man had one on an F plate.
Yes I thought it was the 800s

I almost thought Wynn was doing a Rowley Birkin QC impression for the voice levels.
Hi both - really enjoying the bar cast! Please let me know details about the crypto book, I will read and review it for you!
