Absolutely loved this EPL17. The tri-cast was something I didn't know I needed and hoping for more of that. The casual atmosphere of the couch was great too. Somewhat more entertaining than the last two majors.

A csgo World Cup would be amazing. Imagine the flag skins, stickers etc. also imagine the debates about which players Denmark should pick.. I have been dreaming of this for ages. Valve pls fix this.. It should be every 2 years
There was a "World Championship" in 2015 and 2016, as well as a similar event called WESG World Finals from 2016-2018, which had a prize pool of over $1 000 000. Neither of those were as interesting as regular tournaments though.
I love spunj, but fuck that round robin format. Not only is there competitive integrity issues built into that format where teams can choose not to win because they have already qualified, but they also control the fate of other teams by doing so. Not only that, it has some of the most whack playoff brackets. This issue of skipping to the semi finals does not feel like as big of an issue as Spunj makes it out to be.

I know this isn't the right place for this discussion, but someone please try and explain to me how this new "subtick" system is supposedly so perfect that the server is going to know the exact moment the gun is fired or the grenade is thrown without having some latency for the otherside. The information has to travel just as normal from PC to server to PC, I really don't understand what it's solving, how it's solving it, and what is so different in the architecture of the update/tick system.
Its funny how Chad had a whole segment explaining the changes are not so big and we have to adapt and then complains a whole other segment bc the health and armor changed places he doesn't like it
If there was to be a World Cup in CS, the only organization I could see that could pull it off would be ESL and not Valve mainly because ESL has the Louvre agreement and can cooperate with the orgs to get the players to play in it. Also one of the reasons WESG also failed in the past was because instead of a team to represent a nation, an already established team had to go through qualifiers to make the event instead. The way you should go about a world cup style event for CS would be similar to what they do in baseball in my opinion. ESL would manually pick which players would be captains for each country, which would usually be the best player from there. I.E. s1mple from Ukraine, ropz from Estonia, NiKo from Bosnia, Twistzz from Canada, etc etc. Then it would be up to those players to recruit players for the national team. It's not exactly a perfect system obviously, but ESL can at least do it in a way where the orgs would cooperate and you'd be able to run the event.
I do find it strange that at no point is it mentioned that HLTV is owned by someone who is a partial owner of Astralis, no disclosure and Striker is trying to defend Astralis constantly.
As a dane, Astralis is the most frustrating org. (I'm watching both CS and LoL) First we get the 4 majors Then they get a league team that is shite. They start doing poorly in CS They get good personalities in LoL (Zanzarah) They get in to this Hunden shite They get Devve back They actually start doing good in LoL, to the point where both their games are exciting, and they are an upset team. Some stuff probably in the wrong order, but the its so conficting. Like you dont want to cheer for the org, but I have nothing against the players, in both games.
The organization has not paid attention to the roster in the last two years, since Device went to Nip, the team gradually began to fall apart, first their attempt to replace Device, then with the departure of Magisk, Zonic and Dupreeah, the online era, the lack of Lan tournament.....and big changes in the organization itself from coaches to analysts, the fall was simply inevitable, what annoys me in the whole story is the lack of motivation and interest of the organization that was once considered the best in the world, and now their desperate attempts to returned to S-tier in the form of cooperation with a coach who stabbed his organization in the back a million times and because of exploits and selling tactics and attempt to put the blame on his players, I have no respect for Hunden, nor for Astralis itself, with vile and stinking moves, desperately trying bring back their name that they once had in the scene. I wouldn't mind if the organization goes bankrupt and shuts down its divisions and Hunden gets a lifetime ESIC ban for destroying the integrity of the game itself.
Hud customization should be a bigger priority, being comfortable with your hud is important. This is just telling of where Valve stands, next we wont be allowed to use Net Graphs just like we lost ShowPos. I think this will have a larger affect than you think on the pro scene, not just casuals not being able to get used to it.
Firmly of the belief that removing the Last Chance stage from Groups and putting in a lower bracket for Playoffs would've been a simple but very positive change. Who really wanted to see teams like Complexity, Big, NiP, and OG, stumble about in the LCQ after already blowing two chances? Few if any. How many people would've liked to see VP, Heroic, Liquid, G2, Furia, etc, have a second shot during Playoffs? Hopefully everybody.
im happy with everything with CS2 right now, i just want Better anti cheat and better matchmaking/ranking system (which i believe its coming), and better tickrate im kinda skeptical about this "subtick" thing, people say its basically 64tick movement feels like 64 alot of people saying that, there's video upload by MrMaxim say its close to 64tick rather than 128tick like are u for real ? if valve really confidence with their sub-tick they should let pro match play on it rather than just connect to 128tick server, if these pro doesnt want to play in official valve server why should we deserve this server?
A lot of these changes are making the game easier to learn for new players, “noob friendly”. I don’t think this is a smart move by Valve, a big reason why the game is as popular as it is for so long is because it’s hard to learn.
CS has always been hard to master which is why it has lasted so long. These changes make it easier for people to pick up the game but it hasn't changed cs' strength of the endless skill ceiling.
Very few changes are actually especially viable competitively. The radar sound thing won't be used actively in higher competition because you don't want to be looking at your radar that much at all. Same thing with the "follow recoil", it will help the noob as you said, but it will hardly help after that person is no longer a simple noob. The game is popular not because it's hard to learn at the start of the game, but that it's incredibly hard to get good at (which these updates will not make easier).

They used to do "world cup" in csgo. At least EU cup. It was not popular back then

The new HUD sucks. it’s jarring to look at. The normal csgo HUD we have now is so much cleaner and out of the way.
