Al....you always say "thank you for coming along with us on our journey" I say "thank you for taking me along with you on your journey" have a blessed day!!!
Olivia walking in the rain and covering the dog with the umbrella at the end just melted my heart. Olivia...you have such a sweet kind heart with animals!🐶💗
WATCHING THIS VIDEO TODAY .... IS MY ANSWER ..... FOR MY CONCERNS RELAYED TO YOU YESTERDAY !! HA HA !! NICE !! GOOD TO WATCH IT GOING UP SO "EASY" .... AS I DON'T BREAK A SWEAT "WATCHING" .... YOU MIGHT MISS THIS WHEN DONE !! GREAT JOB, AL ..... I'M LIKING THAT !!!!
Barn is going up fast. It is very satisfying to see piles of lumber turn into a building! I didn't see Figaro today so it had to rain "A day without Figaro is a day without sunshine!" He is turning into a fair weather cat. Once the barn is built I'm sure he'll take it over!
My granddaughter is hooked on watching you too so she subscribed. She was watching with me but got sick of waiting on me so she put you on her own laptop. She loves animals and loves how well you care for yours.
Love watching your barn come together so nicely. You are doing a great job! Olivia is so cute and quick on her feet in dealing with her daddy. She seems to have a very positive outlook..cudos to mom and dad.
WOW! So close to the 100K. I find it so encouraging looking back in the two years I have watched you and your family. No only do you have all the wonderful footage of your daughter, but such a source of encouragement when disappointment and discouragement creeps into your thoughts. You have made such amazing progress on your homestead.
The barn is looking awesome. You say that we are blessing to you. You are blessing to me. Because I get to be with you and your family. Evan if a short time. Thanks for all the videos.
This was better than a 'thriller' movie, Al. I was on pins and needles watching you working so high with very little safety net below you. I will be so happy when you are finished with this roof. Excellent work as usual.
Al your channel and Out in the Country are my very favorites to watch. You do things correctly and your homestead is tidy and well cared for. It’s a pleasure to watch. You and Gina are raising Livie so well. Good job buddy from a devoted subscriber.
Al, I have a full size rooster that tries to (and has successfully) flogged a few people including myself. I have learned that I have to stand my ground and show dominance towards him when he gets in the mood to flog. Two ways of doing that have been to walk towards him, when he lunges to flog, (a.) push him away with your hand, keeping your palm opened. (b.) immediately before or after he flogs, push his chest to the ground and hold him in place for a moment. Do these together until he walks away. Roosters flog to show dominance. You have show the dominance back. Too many beautiful roosters go to freezer camp because they are doing their job and being “the alpha man”. It takes time, but teaching your family to do this as well will help. I have noticed that mine flogs when someone new enters his territory. I have to “re-train him. It only takes a few “trainings” to knock him out of his dominance. Never walk away from a flogging rooster. Stand your ground and walk towards them. If they flog from behind, turn towards the bird, stand your ground, walk to him, push him away and do (a) and (b) above.
And not to leave you out I'm very impressed with your building skills!!! I'm amazed at how much your doing by yourself! Would never have thought one man could do what you have done!!!!!!!!
Lookit that egg count! The chickens approve of your work too! Excellent job on that beautiful barn. What a blessing to have found it on line and be able to build it mostly by yourself. Stay safe and Blessings from NE Missouri!
Checking back in to see your channel get 100k today. Al you've worked so hard on your homestead and yt channel-- the silver play button will be in the mail Monday!!!
Man!!! Hanging around with the goats...their sure footedness (?) Must have wore off on you. The barn is looking more and more like a barn..GREAT JOB!!! God bless
Barn is coming along nice Al. That's a lot of work for one person. Efficiency and organization can save a lot of work. Your blue rolling scaffold is also called staging as it can be used to stage materials to improve work flow. I notice you stage your materials lengthwise on your walk planks which limits how much you can stage before you have to climb down to get more. For instance your collar ties could all have been staged perpendicular across your walk planks at one end. This way you could have staged all of your ties at one time, have them out of the way for walking yet handy for installation. That would have saved how many trips up and down to restage? Same with the transom pieces. You had enough walk plank sticking out past the end of your scaffold frames that you could have staged your long pieces across the planks parallel to the end of the barn. This would not compromise the stability of your walk planks and you wouldn't have to struggle getting them up in place. Bend over, pick them up as they are already in the correct orientation to set in place. Additionally an extra walk plank staged on the second rung of your scaffold would give you someplace higher to put your nail gun, nails, screws, hammer etc. so you wouldn't have to be bending down as far and would have all of that within easy reach. Don't mean any of this as a criticism. Just an old carpenter offering some advice as you go forward with your barn project. Working on scaffolding is dangerous enough as it is. Learning how to use it to stage your materials more efficiently increases the safety factor and reduces the labor. My feet hurt just from watching you as I found myself curling my toes trying to wrap them around the work planks for you. LOL You're doing a great job and this barn is going to be a huge asset on your farm. Doing it more efficiently and perhaps you won't be as broken down in body as I am in my later years. Great skills to have but they are hard on your body in the long haul. Hope this helps.
Awesome 👏 I Love this barn building stuff!!!! U could make these building videos a Hour long & id watch them, love this stuff. If you worried about nail holes put wood putty in them AL. 👍
I know how excited you are when you see the results of your work. My husband does woodworking and it's so satisfying when you see the end results.. always know we pray for you when you're up so high. Lol
Gooooood Afternoon Al , I slept trough the alarm this morning so I'm off to a late start. Now I have my coffee and an English muffin so I can settle down to watch Al work . lol I did not know what collar ties were. Now I can see that in the loft area , they are actually headknockers ! The loft seems to be getting smaller and smaller with less and less head room. I surely would double the loft floor area . The scaffolding is very handy to have if you are doing any building. Al , I am very surprised by you ! With your attention to safety too . You only have TWO boards to walk on and they have an open space between them ! If you step back to check your work , you could easily step into that open space between the boards. Three boards , close together with no open space between them would be much safer. And secured in place with a couple of ratchet straps so they won't slip out of place. Safety first ! Remember , everyone depends upon you !
Great job Al! I got my husband now watching you too. Making us nervous and amazed at your building skills. Don't you have a family member or friends who should have helped you out. How about your Church? You're getting it done, though. Stay safe. Prayers!
Yay 100,000 subscribers congratulations, you have such awesome content on your channel, always something interesting. Our grandsons love watching all the machines and animals. Lovely to have such a safe channel that we can all watch together. You will have 200,000 in no time.
