Hi everyone! Let's use this thread to help others that are getting into the stomp. What's been the most helpful piece of information you've learned while using the HX Stomp?
Man...real talk, I have really bad ADHD that I've struggled with since childhood. I have watched so many UA-cam videos and read the manual so many times, but just couldn't get it and resigned myself to always having to be at a computer using HX Edit to navigate and build presets. For some reason this video is the one that did it. Everything straight and to the point and not edited with any weird cuts or anything so we could see exactly what you were doing. Thank you!!!!
this was very very helpful! thank you! will be watching the other soon. i needed to know the scroll mode so i didn't have to move presets around and you quickly covered that functionality. I don't spend a ton of time with this unit so great to have an overview like this were I can get the topic and then go into more detail on that if needed.
Thanks for the video! Do you have some basic term definitions, I’m getting blocked between banks, presets and snapshots. Can you only assign individual effects to a button, or an Amp/cab/effects chain? Sorry, new to preset modeling. Thx!
Thanks for watching! Banks would be a row of 1-3 presets and presets would be what you actually select/use when picking a specific tone. The Snapshots are for quickly/easily changing multiple effect parameters at once! The Quick Start guide from Line 6 helps explain this really well. line6.com/support/manuals/hxstomp
In terms of assigning effects to a button, you can do that but you could also choose to tie amps/cabs, etc to the button as well alongside parameters to the footswitch too!
Great video. I wish that I could have just one snapshot for ambient then have the rest of the switches for stomp. I don’t think it can do that though 😂
Not sure you can without the use of MIDI, however, I do think you can assign specific signals to control snapshot modes for the stomp and then others for stomps. Maybe someone else can correct me if I'm wrong there!
Yes! You can assign say fs1 to trigger a specific snapshot (this setting can be applied per snapshot, and even be set up to like go to next snap on press and to the previous on hold), then you can use the fs2 and 3 (or even more if you have an external fs) to use as stomps, tap/tempo, or whatever else you want. Just assign what you want to do with the stomps like you would normally, and then configure the footswitch that you want to manage snapshots, using the command center.
Does the Stomp work with HX Edit? I saw the USB plug on the side. I’m looking for a backup to my Helix Floor for travel gigs. I’m always fearing the airlines losing my board on the way to the gig. This pedal should do the trick in an emergency.
Hey - I just got one of these and my previous expierence with line 6 was their floor pod plus from around 2008 - this thing is so unbeleivebly complex, I mean the effects and options are nice, but I just want to play and switch between a few FX I don't want to have to learn how to surgically move all ths stuff around... When I got mine out of the box and plugged it in, it appears there are ZERO presets, I can just scroll through effects - there's a few obscure things once I scroll all the way into "C" but I mean nothing is named, or labeled, it was brand new - I was at least expecting to be able to scroll though and find something like "phaseer" and just be able to turn that on and off... DO I need to update the firmware or anything, is there a way I can just copy someone else's effects they created for themself, because if I can't just grab someone else's pre-sets I'm thinking I'm just going to send it back and go with the HX effects... I went with this because I wanted to be able to turn on multiple effects at the same time, but if there are literally ZERO pre-sets with the thing and it takes hours to setup idk why anyone would buy it.
Hey there! Congrats on getting your unit! I would recommend doing a factory reset by plugging in your Helix and then resetting it through the HX Edit app on your computer. Feel free to back it up first but my guess is you just don't have any setlists on there.
Thats a sick deal! I got mine for $300 and its spectacular. Yes, I think you'd be happy with the amp sounds. With the availability of tone matches, IRs, and even the improvements to stock amps/cabs I think they sound great
Question: Can you split the sigle to use two signal chain? I used to have an Axe Fx and my tone had two different amps for two different tones at the same time. Thanks
I feel pretty confident that you can do that with the full size units but not the HX Stomp due to DSP limitations but someone else can chime in with a better answer if they have it!

Dude thank you so much! Seriously love to hear that

glad you found it helpful!
I just bought this for my synth. I can't wait to experiment.
Are you enjoying it?
Thanks! A great vid. 👏🏻
Blessings to ya buddy. I actually had to pause the video to see what year this was posted.
What do you mean Mark?
Thank you so much man! Can you do a tutorial on the Boss OD200?
great video! one question, how am I suppose to switch the ground setting for HX stomp (between balance ground and case ground)?
If I remember correctly (could be wrong) but you can change this in the global setup menu

Thanks. I just got one and the box comes with 0 instructions other than "go to the website" and it seems difficult to get started with.
Definitely has a learning curve but hopefully this helped get you started!

Yes! It absolutely does. Only caveat is the Helix Floor lets you have up to 32 blocks vs. the Stomp only lets you have 8

I was going to buy a universal audio dream but I just stumbled on a used hx stomp for over $100 less. Do you think I’ll be happy with the amp sounds?

Is that an August Burns Red pick I spot 👀
Yes! Got it from their show a few years back in Omaha!

Zach, have you ever compared the HX Stomp to the Headrush MX5? Thoughts?
I have not yet! Would love to though! That or the Hotones Stomp II seem like good alternatives
Sir i have a roland KC 600 speaker, can i connect my guitar through helix with the keyboard speaker
Is it a powered speaker?
