    When I lived in FL, I would trim back the lemongrass every year to use as mulch. I made lots of lemongrass tea too….I chilled the tea in the fridge.

    Love your videos. Used to have a friend from Vietnam that taught me a few recipes and introduced me to the cuisine and we love it. Have you ever fixed the stuffed chicken wings? So good.

    When you pull the lemongrass like hat, will it come back in the spring?

    • @fishsaucemama
      @fishsaucemama  3 роки тому

      No. For zone 7b here where I am at the winter will kill it. I just restart every spring in March or April.

    Do you use straw mulch to cover the lemongrass plant? Please give me some tips.

    • @fishsaucemama
      @fishsaucemama  3 місяці тому

      Anything can keep moisture is fine. I have not used straw mulch on it but on my garden elsewhere. I use geass clippings because it's free. But any compost or much is good.

    How do you fertilize lemongrass?

    • @fishsaucemama
      @fishsaucemama  2 роки тому

      I don't. I think the soil got enough food for my lemongrass. If I was to grow in the raised bed, I'd fertility with milorganite. It's organic and high in nitrogen which is good for the leaves. Lemongrass is kind of like grass.

      Kinda Bugado. If your area is not too cold in the winter, save a few stalks for next year. Watch this video on how to leave them in the ground if you're in the area similar to zone 7b or warmer. Here it'll often gets to about in the low 20's. I hope overwinter them well will keep them alive till next spring for a good head start. Try a few stalks. Good luck and have fun.
