- 5 Mario references in zelda games
Throughout the legend of Zelda series there are many mario references to find. Some enemies appear as enemies or friends to link. Mario is a mask in majoras mask attached to the happy mask salesman. In zelda's courtyard there are paintings from mario 64 and mario kart 64. The great fairy fountain song is a rendition of the mario 3 water level. These mario references are very fun to find! did you find them all?

Also don’t forget wart
Yeah, but didn't know about the rupees if you push da painting!
That fairy smb3 song, i didnt know about that, cool
Metoo

Fun fact: the chain chomp was originally supposed to be an enemy for Zelda, but they decided it was better suited for Mario
Lolol did you see tricky nicks video?
Those references rule
But so does drenchy
#DrenchyRules
Also the Warp Whistle sound from Red Luigi Bros 3 is the same as the Flute from the first Zelda game. It's also in the opening theme to Ocarina of Time.
Hello there
@@Speedster428 🥔
@@KarmaJolt potato
You can find link in super mario rpg and interacting with him will cause the music when you discover something in a zelda game will play
The last one made my jaw drop, good job

@@NGS-Official1 I'm great! And you?
@@Malek_Mations I’m great also!!
NICK IS HERE LOL
The last is the only one I didn’t know, or that they updated the OoT Easter egg for 3DS. Neat.
To be honest, link just looking at dancing mario, then looking away like that is completely normal is fitting lol
Hahaha
I knew almost every one except for about the fairy fountain
I knew all of them but didn't know about the rupees in the painting! Thanks!
Bro literally meets Mario picking mushrooms in a forest and finds a picture of Peach
Here’s one! In the theme music in ocarina of time, you can hear the warp whitsle from smb3
Yoooo let’s go Drenchy made a new video 😊, oh and I had no idea these wer here 😊
Yooo thanks! Yeah these are super cool!
In totk there is a character who is inspired by Mario and who does the famous Mario screams when you unlock the last great fairy
That last one I knew and I thought I was jsut wrong
the chain chomp was originally gonna be in TLOZ, but somehow it got to SMB3 first
Link's awakening is literally filled with .ario reference, there's a goomba In there!!!
I knew all of them because me big brain

Renchy drools
The great fiary mountain song is inspired by the song morning glory by tatsuro yamashita
bro forgot that mario 2 finall boss was in link's awakening and in mario sunshine one of chracters without mask is running man from ocarina of time
Plot Twist: Mario is now officially voiced by Chris Pratt
Huh, I commonted this on a different video. It seems kinds random on this one.
@@ogpandamoniumhis happens to me all of the time with comments. People seem so confused seeing an analysis of basculegion from pokemon on a video on a mario video.
I only know the Mario 3 song from civvie 11’s postal videos
The sound effect about to start at the end 💀
I knew all but the fairy fountain one. Take my sub bro
Yooo thanks phantom star! I’m making one specifically for links awakening and then another for Zelda references in Mario games! Stay tuned :)
@Drenchy Sweet, I'll be waiting, bro ✌️
#5 I had no idea
forgot to mention on ocarina of time that shooting the window gives 20 rupees,... or a bomb? i don't remember what was in what side
I didn’t even know it did that
There is also king wart in link's awakening who was a boss in a mario game.
Yes links awakening had a ton of references!!!!
WOAHHHH
Legend of Zelda and Mario is basically brothers both come out in every console in ever gen
Another one: The Ocarina Of Time opening theme is the same as the Warp Whistle theme from Mario 3
But the Warp Whistle theme from Super Mario Bros. 3 was taken from the original Zelda game.
@@MathematicalVoid Still a fun nod to both Zelda and Mario
"You can see a picture of mario through the window" *stares at luigi*
Why'd you call Luigi "Mario" tho 😭😭😭😭😭
Let's be honest Zelda did the water world theme right
Knew all accept the last
I knew them all because you just told me
wait i have theory
Mario bros is a game/book in zelda universe so technically when you play mario your playing zelda
Brilliant 💭
I actually didn’t know about the 1-1 in Hyrule Castle OoT 3D. I always knew about the original so I guess I never took the time to check 😅
So apparently it’s not 1-1 it’s just a random Mario level which makes less sense than having 1-1. When I made the video I just assumed it was 1-1 when I saw it 😅
@@Drenchy That’s strange lol, but it’s still a cool easter egg
Plumbers mask real?!
I knew all of them 🎮🎮
Its a me a linkio
In links awakening there are waaaaaay more references in the game the just 1
Yeah I’m making an entire vid on just links awakening also!
also goombas
Don't forget that wart appears in a Zelda game
one time i was playing ocarina of time and i didn't realize the Mario paintings and i saw the Mario mask in mogoras mask
nice
thanks bro
Links awakening has more references. Including princess peach and goombas
i was playing smb3 and i noticed i that reference right away
Fun fact: Chain Chomps were designed for tloz
L IS REAL in ocarina of time
can they do this? nintendo should sue them for copyright :/
Honestly Easter eggs in video games are such a treasure ❤❤
Yes I love them so much!
@@Drenchy They make playing the game much more wholesome and enjoyable
@@PrincessSunnyoftheSandWings I agree! And just finding them is a reward in itself and keeps everything connected :)
I played alttp for years and never noticed a mario picture
Nintendo put those and most of us missed it 💀
I knew the last one
... that's supposed to be mario ???!!!
Bro didn't include the yoshi plush?
you forgot the goombas in the franchise
I did not know the last one, but I am glad I know now
L is Real statue in one of thr n64 games
I knew the first four but not the fairy fountain. There is also the bowser neck thingy that Malon and/or her father wears in OoT.
What did the masked salesman do to mario?
I'm not sure if it's a reference to any of the games, but in Smb3 and The legend of Zelda for the NES, when the flute or recorder get played, they play a tune that is heard in both games.
Yes that’s a reference to Zelda I believe!
links awakening has actually ALOT of super mario bros easter eggs, such as goombas, squids, chomp chomps, bowser (only on the gb and DX version) and someone on the gb and dx version looks like mario. (i dont remember his name)
I’m making a separate vid on just links awakening it’s filled with them
@@Drenchy awesome!
I don't know about that last one.
Isn't Link in SMRPG?
the window is the only change didn’t care for in Ocarina’s 3DS port.
Yeah I didn’t see a need to change it
i somehow knew all of it
my mind just changes the fairy smb3 song.
like i see so many differences between both of the songs.
Whats with Talon?
You forgot about malon in ocarina of time. He's a reference to mario🎮🎮
I love the SMB3 / fairy fountain song.
Not even gonna mention that a mario boss was in links awakening?
I’m making a separate video on all links awakening references
Mario is now canon in the zelda universe
What about the shyguys in links awakening
I’ll have another video on just links awakening
I remember learning these a long time ago it’s crazy
Yay a new video!
:)
I don't recall 1-1 having a pipe on the blocks 🧐
Yeah it’s just a generic Mario level I don’t know why I said 1-1
I also remember there being a goomba in link's awakening
Fun fact the whistle in the original Zelda is the same as the warp whistle in Mario 3
guy kinda looks like zero to Me
