i think they should have other NES style video game character power-ups like the master sword. maybe a metroid-themed one, or a dk-themed one, or if you want a later addition, maybe pokemon or kirby? idk, but they just need to make more.
Since Ocarina of Time when Young Zelda had the Mario posters, I almost wanna believe the Mushroom Kingdom and Hyrule exist in the same universe. Not only 'cause they share the same legend creator. The references and nods to each other make me wanna believe it's so. Even Link ventured his way through in the Kremling homeworld Crocodile Isle and Northerm Kremisphere per one of the Brother Bears.
I think the first few are less of references and probably more a combination of hardware restrictions (i mean they were all on the 8-bit NES) and lack of a wide range of soundfonts to use (same thing went on to be a problem for Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, many of them ended up having extremely or completely similar cries)
Nintendo fully owns Zelda. Pokemon and Kirby are owned by Nintendo AND another company, and Sonic isn't owned by Nintendo in any capacity. They would have to pay royalties to the other companies of they wanted to do that.
@@skyretiredtimetraveler2061But, Sonic is Only on the Nintendo Consoles Like Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Nintendo DS, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, And Switch
@hadi48930 straight up not true. They're mostly on Nintendo yes, but not fully. The newest Sonic game is on steam, and the racing game was on a bunch of platforms. Nintendo doesn't own the rights to Sonic.
Sonic's shoes did show up at the end of Donkey Kong Country 2. But that was Nintendo's jab at Sega during their fierce rivalry. Oh man, do I miss my 90s childhood. That's never happening again.
You know what would've been cool? If they updated Link's appearance in the Mario RPG remake to look like BotW Link. Still nice to see him napping in the inn though.

It Is a reference, just cause the names are very slightly different doesnt make It not a reference. Plus the Icon for the rubees Is shaped like a red rupee
Can someone explain me second? If i understand right, mario is singing sound of storms with that thing like flute, and a storm takes him to warp zone. Am i right?
No not at all, the flute In mario 3 Is a reference to the flute from zelda 1 which was used to teleport randomly to different dungeons you'vd beaten much like how In mario 3 Its used to teleport to the warp zone. Song of storms wasnt a thing until ocarina of time which was way after mario 3 released
I wouldn't necessarily call the first two references since it's just the reuse of sound effects (and graphics for the second). I will grant the Warp Whistle could be, though.

Yes, I think that computer in Paper Mario is right, mastersward never fulfilled its duty to seal evil for real. I'd say it's time to look for some new methods
This makes me wonder if Hyrule and the Mushroom Kingdoom are connected somehow. Given how many instances the Zelda franchise was referenced in the Mario franchise, I don’t think that theory is too far off.
I think if Nintendo ever wanted to explain how Mario and Link can be in the same place, they could just say Mario can get to Hyrule through a special warp pipe. Smash Bros doesn’t already work because those are just toys/action figures being played with
Off the top of my head, the Mario characters are in OoT (at Hyrule Castle) and Link’s Awakening (throughout including chain chomp to enter the third dungeon and yoshi in the crane game). Plus Talon in OoT is a reference to Mario. So they are there!
The last part was a reference. “It’s a secret to everybody” is a common phrase in Zelda 1 as there are a ton of hidden Moblin NPCs across the overworld, and they all say the same thing after they help out
@@gravityfallscanada it has everything to do with it, they said that the heart bean itself wasn't the zelda reference but rather the last part of the toads dialogue was the intended reference lmao

The Rod sound effect yes, but a flute summoning a whirlwind sounds like an intentional reference.
The flute clearly is a reference lol what??
Make sense because Shigeru Miyamoto worked on both Mario and Zelda.
