I've learned a lot in this video, and it is very useful in using some power supplies and I learned about the generator on how it produce their power to the loads, and series,parallel connection properly so that no one can be electrecuted or an short circuit in performing on spot.

At first i thought that the ships generator uses direct current. But now as i watched the video it taught me that the generators uses alternating current and i think its safer than series. I thought ships dont use transformers and i was wrong. The video showed me the functions of generators and the machines that needs 440V ac and 24V dc. You also taught me sir that the ship has an emergency generator that caters 20% load of ship, the functions of circuit breaker, busbar, shore supply, and tie breaker. And also shown me the simulation of generator.
After watching this video i know how generator works, from how it produce voltage and how its distributed by the loads and also as we add more loads we need to use another generator connected to parallel to produce same power 440 Vac and using the step down transformer we can reduce the power to 220Vac to use the load properly and to also using transformer again we can use DC current for the 24V DC loads. This video is great i learned a lot

Done watching your video sir, after watching your video sir i was able to learn how the generators loads is being supplied to the ship and how it is divided equally in order for the generators not to be loaded. I also learned that the purpose of Emergency Switchboards and that it is crucial onboard ships since it can help in distributing power to the important loads onboard ship. I've learned a lot of your discussion about how current works inside of the ship or generator. Specially the transformer now I know how it works generator convert the current voltage on 220 volts through transformer we can use the current on our house safety and through that we prevent the burned or fire Ruined and there's more ideas I've learned and this is one of my example that I've learned sir thank you..

i love the way you explain about the genator sir , for my understanding generator is another name for backup power supply. The major objective is that certain power units have a generally steady and dependable network power supply, but the self-supplied power supply is still designed for emergency in order to avoid unforeseen events such as circuit failure or brief power loss. and also generators connect to parallel to add the same volts for the load by the sum of 1 generator (12Volts) + 1 generator (12Volts) = 12 volts and that is my answer to your question of when generator connects in parallel.

Thank you for this clear discussion sir! This Lecture has taught me lots of informations regarding the generators. This video taught me that generators are the ones supplying power to the important loads onboard the ship and without them a ship will not function properly. Aside from that, I also learned from this lecture the purpose of Emergency Switchboards and that it is crucial onboard ships since it can help in distributing power to the important loads onboard ship. Another thing I've learned in this video is about the transformers, which helps increasing and decreasing the voltage, and the rectifiers, in which it converts AC to DC . And lastly, this lecture taught me the process of using the Simulator for the Emergency Generator, and I am so thankful for learning it since in the future this would help me not to get confused on how the simulator works.
I've learned a lot about this video sir first of all I learned abut how generator produce power convert towards our load in the ship with a power of 440Vac then I learned about Series Circuit that the series circuit is each resistor on the same wire and the Parallel Circuit was commonly used and each resistor in parallel was different wire when you use parallel circuit you should always remember the polarity the positive is color red and the negative is color black. I learned too about the Wave of generator we see is SINE WAVE and the meanings of AC, DC and ACB the 2 kinds of transformers The Step up and The Step Down but we commonly use Step down transformers Converted the High Voltage Electricity to Low Voltage Electricity Ex. 440Vac when you use step down transformer it will converted to 220Vac and I learned to about Rectifier a circuit that converts AC to DC and that's all sir thank you and a great video well explained.

Ginagamit rin pala sa barko ang transformer upang i step down ang kuryente from 440V to 220V. . Another bagong kaalaman nanaman para sa isang marine engineering students sa aifcp.

Thank you sir! I learned that electrical power distribution systems are an essential part of the electrical power system. In order to transfer electrical power from an alternating current (AC) or a direct current (DC) source to the place where it will be used, some type of distribution network must be utilized. Electrical power distribution is the final stage in the delivery of electric power; it carries electricity from the transmission system to individual consumers. Distribution substations connect to the transmission system and lower the transmission voltage to medium voltage ranging between 24 kV and 30 kV with the use of transformers. Distribution transformers again lower the voltage to the utilization voltage used by lighting. Often several customers are supplied from one transformer through secondary distribution.

Thank you sir for making this creative video for us and I appreciate your efforts. In this video, I learned the differences and the purposes of the Series and Parallel circuits. I learned that the series circuit adds more voltage to its distribution area while the parallel circuit distributes voltage the same. I also learned how the emergency generator and emergency switchboard work. The emergency generator is used only when the other main generators fail to work and the emergency switchboard is like a circuit breaker. You will turn on the necessary switches and then turn them off afterward.

All components in a series receive the same amount of current.
The current flowing through each component is combined to generate the current flow through the source while it is running in parallel.

Through this video, I also learned what are the purpose of generators, transformers, and rectifiers onboard ship. I was able to know how the Emergency Generator works and how to manipulate it, like what you have said sir that we need to wait till the voltage reaches or stables on 440V and the frequency is at around 60Herts before we turn the switches on and let the electricity flow.
What an informative discussion about Distribution system in a ship, I was able to understand more about the differences of serries and parrallel. That there are three generators used by the ship and one for emergency. Lastly was the usage of Emergency switchboards.
This is very helpful to me because I've learn on how the electricity can be distribute to the other sections like generator we can produce electricity and supply to overloads and also the series and parallel circuit.

By the help of this video discussion I understand why parallel circuit is mostly used in vessels alternators. It's because it can easily give and distribute electricity in all units in ship if the electricity become high the supply load also increases. Hence, also I've learned that vessels has a backup generator that can be used for emergency purposes onboard ship to supply and support electricity when it needed. But only few percent of all unit on ship can cater the electricity produce by the backup generator onboard. Thanks for sharing your knowledge to us sir. I salute you sir God bless ❤️

In series if you connect both 12 volts it turns into 24 volts and in parallel if you connect both 12 volts it still remains the same. The video taught me that ships uses a parallel circuit as it increase the level of current and the supply of load. It won't use series circuit as it adds up voltage. I also learned how to convert AC to DC transformer.

I have learned from the basic, concepts, principles, purposes, and how each areas has its own functions and how will be able to generate. As how it was illustrated and explained very well such as the formulas of series and parallel. I was able now to determine the Engine control, Emergency switchboard, Kinds of Transformer, the usage of ACB, the purpose of Tie Breaker and so on.

I've learned that how important the generator is on a ship and also I've learned the purpose of generator in a ship, how it produce power towards to the loads and how it distributes electricity in all units of the ship. I also thought that there is only one generator on a ship but now I know that there is 3 generators and 1 emergency generator which is it starts when there's a problem on the 3 generators and cater only 20% of loads on a ship.
In this video it refreshed me the concept between series and parallel connection. In series, there are different voltage but same current in each resistor while the parallel has the same voltage and different current in each resistor. I learned also how the power distribution happens in ships where it is because of the transformers that decreases the voltage output from the source and there is also rectifier that converts the AC source into DC.
I learned a lot about electric power distribution on how generator work and how generator supply electricity onboard ship and the difference between AC to DC voltage and how to convert them.

For this video ive learned a lot about this video from what is the purpose of generator onboarding the ship it produce electricity to supply our load an also I learned about the parallel that we use in the ship because even if the voltage is not additive but the power ang nag papalakas nito. The total current is increase also the Power will increase also our loads that’s why parallel ating ginagmit. Nalaman ko rin bakit gnagamitan nang transformer dahil may loads tayong kailangan supplyan nang 240 V ac and also rectifier na pinababa to 24 V dc ang kurente para ma supplyan ang engine lights at deck lights.
