HOW TO CHANGE OVER SHIP POWER TO SHORE POWER - STEP BY STEP DURING DRYDOCK

During the drydock, a ship has to take shore power to ensure that al required electrical power will be met.
When the ship sits on the keel blocks in the drydock, Before the water reduce to sea water suction level the ship power should be transfer to shore power because the auxiliary engine-generators, which produce the electrical power, can no longer work due to non-supply of cooling water to the engine. To avoid overheating of moving parts of the engine, the auxiliary engine has to be switched off before the water is pumped out of the drydock.
The process of receiving shore supply is critical as unprotected connection may lead to accidents and wrong shore supply will hurt the efficiency and increase heat generation from onboard equipment.
Once all checks are performed by ship’s engineer and the ship is ready to take the shore power the change over can take place.
In this video we will show you the step by step process of changing over the electrical power from ship to shore while in Drydock.

👍 Yup, automatic kasi ang shore connection normally nasa line ng MSB ang downside lng depende sa kaya ng Breaker na Amps, depende sa barko, pero normal about 400 to 500 Amps lng. Thanks

@@anakti pag balik once tanggalin ang shore power Papasok automatically ang Emergency Generator kpg nk AUTO ang set up, pwede rin eh manual pero better nk nk automatic once pumasok na sa Main Switch Board ang power sa emergency Gen. may power na ang barko limited sa emergency distribution, then pwede nag pa andar ng DO pump para sa Aux. Engine kung ang design separate meron iba nk couple and pump sa Aux n Makina so diretso n yon, then may time n ang set up wala p enough starting air so paandar emergency compressors, kpg may hangin and fuel start n manually ship Aux. Engine kpg umandar n manually pasok ang load sa MSB then kpg pumasok mag automatic matanggal sa load ang emergency power sa emergency Generator, then okey na!
