- On March 16, 2015 at the University of Toronto, Dr. John Lennox of the University of Oxford gave a fascinating talk to university professors and graduate students titled "Is Religion Intellectually Dangerous?" Following his talk he answered questions from the floor.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Dr. John Lennox is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford. He holds a D.Phil. from Oxford, a Ph.D. from Cambridge, and a D.Sc. from Cardiff. He is famous for debating atheists Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens. He has written a number of books on the interface between science, philosophy and theology, over seventy mathematical papers, and two research level texts in algebra in the Oxford Mathematical Monograph series. Dr. Christopher Perumalla is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physiology and Director of the Division of Teaching Laboratories in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Chris obtained his Bachelor and Master’s Degrees from Osmania University in India, and a second Master’s and his Doctoral Degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He did his postdoctoral training at the University of Toronto. He has received many awards for his teaching, including the prestigious President's teaching award.

a begging the question fallacy. when you call something a creation, of course there is a need for a creator. but you are not justified in calling the universe a creation. secondly, you are making a category mistake, as we know this universe had a beginning, but it doesn't mean that the universe as in the totality of existence had one. we do not know that matter and energy had a beginning. what we do know is that the universe has always existed. you are also making an equivocation fallacy, trying to apply causality that is required for matter being transformed to matter emerging. you don't have a single example of something beginning to exist. everything we have is simply rearranging matter, and that we know needs a causal agent. but to apply that to a completely different kind of beginning is a logical fallacy. i promise you are not smart enough, you lose in the end. piling up logical fallacies does not make a logical argument.
Everything we observe that does exist has a creator. Science is supposed to be based off of observable evidence. Since, within the natural world everything we observe (as I mentioned) has a creator, why would existence be an exception? Furthermore, how is it logical then, that existence can come from nothing? We never observe that happening, therefore it cannot be a viable theory. One last thing, everything I have presented has been soundly logical, as is Mr. Lennox in his reasoning. You naturalists throw "logical fallacy" around so much it's lost its meaning. You can't say everything argument that one who believes in a creator comes up with, is a logical fallacy just because you don't agree with it. And that is something that occurs far too often. You avoid intelligent debates through name calling and insulting the intelligence of the opposition. In other words, often times you naturalists attack the person instead of the argument.

Since I know that if there is a soul inside any animal like a cow or a pig, then after the animal dies, the soul returns to its Maker because an animal does not know what is sin. So there is nothing wrong with eating animals because the soul of that animal goes back to God.

I am not parroting anything. I was a nonbeliever for most of my life until in 2011 Jesus revealed Himself to me and that changed everything.
I already answered the question, I feel no bad feelings to eat animals because they have a very easy life. I spent my childhood partially on dairy farms here in Finland and I saw how the cows are living, it is a very easy life they have everything they need all the time, they just chill and chew their grass and when their time to become a burger comes it happens super fast, in less than a minute. I could only wish for such an easy life and such an easy death.
Does that positive correlation between human well being and religion extend to catholic priests and their bestial behaviour toward the children in their care.
