Ian at Forgotten Weapons just did a range test of a calico 9mm. In his initial review it seemed he was expecting another Zip gun. Except, It ate all the ammo he had with him, not a single malfunction. And, he utters the the words every one who's ever got to fire one says. "My trigger finger is getting tired"
Have had one for many years. Kind of a pain to shoot in that you have to have all the settings perfect but astonishingly accurate. The balance of this gun is insane. The recoil goes straight back so there is no barrel climb. The ability of this thing to bullseye even while rapped firing is amazing.
I have a Calico M-110 pre-AWB, and a 100 round mag dump on it tires out my trigger finger. I think the main problems are the ones made after the AWB, because 20 years old and mine still works very reliably .
Just got mine? Had one in the 80's. Now have one in the 2021. Bought all of the assy's. It is FULL of BADASSERY!! Damn it, it is COOL as hell! Liberty1.
I am reading a novel where a mix of good guys and bad guys are shooting up other very bad guys with a gun called the Calico. So I had to look it up. Written in 1999 by John Connolly - his first PI Charley Parker novel. Looking it up helped me understand why this gun was chosen. LOL!
A lot of New York rappers rap about calicos.. makes me wonder if they were more abundant in the East Coast than in the west cause in Cali I never knew anyone that had one lol
I bought a used m 100 ( 22 pistol mod.) with 100 rnd mag. ...had many problems with the cheap quality of the internal parts if the gun bolt...and the plastic runners in the mag...i have a gun Smith friend that fixed it twice...but it was a novelty at best...the rifle version looks much more stable and better overall of the designs...
I've owned 1 for about 30 years. It does great if you use good ammo. Most plinking rounds won't have enough recoil to cycle the next round consistently. You may even get a random burst fire if the bolt assembly moves far enough to the rear to cycle the next round, but not far back enough to engage the disconnect. For home defense, I recommend you use something like a +P JHP 147g. It gets dirty. It's extremely easy to field strip. The back of the receiver doesn't change its angle with the barrel, so if you use a cleaning rod, it will have to be from the front of the barrel. I personally use a dropline cleaning system to avoid wear on the crowning. I never liked the steel/plastic sights. I mounted a beautiful 30 dollar green laser on mine. (It's amazing how inexpensive and bright they are now). For me, there is nothing like firing from the hip accurately while maintaining full awareness.
I am in Australia and I very nearly bought the .22lr version in 1993. I would have had it confiscated by the government 4 years later if I did but at least I would have been able to say I owned and shot one!! I'm mad I didn't buy it!!
Have they fixed the jamming problem? I the reviews I’ve seen a they couldn’t get the whole 100 rounds out. Had to keep ejecting jammed rounds to continue.
Yes, yes, yes... This is the story of AK 47, when it is constantly compared to StG 44 and Kalashnikov is accused of plagiarism. And out of the similar only the shape of the magazine, and the gas pipe over the barrel. And that’s it. Here and the layout is different, tasks. Calico is all about commerce. " Bison" for the Army and Interior Forces is when you can at least hammer nails with a weapon, if necessary. In addition, the "Bison" is definitely ...prettier as a weapon, which means that the normal ergonomics and normal length of the aiming line. Also, if this project was successful, the weapon would not have gone sunk into oblivion right? )
Ronald Reagan hi had mine for 29 yrs no failures in material .i have had bad ammo in that when ammo discovered to b bad was saved and later disassembled to have found the primer not not encircleing the whole primer pocket just bought brand new rifle from them.they really r misunderstood firearms
Due to the assault weapons ban the system had never time to overcome its' "childhood diseases". Remember the severe reliability problems the AR-15 platform had when it was new, today the AR-15 is considered to be extremely reliable. Like they say in the video, the idea of a relatively compact firearm having a large mag capacity of 50, 100 or 200 rounds is intriguing. There are some videos online of people who fixed their Calico's feeding problems and they work just fine...
Ppl you have to wind it properly have the winder handle at the very top lined up with the mag peep window on top then wind the thing as directed and stop in the same spot, I never had an issue with either of the two I had maybe one time I over wound it or maybe had just one round extra in the mag and it wouldn't load that one round but I took it out and the gun ran perfectly
The problem with them is a lot of ppl don't know how to wind them properly they either under wind them or over wind them and that will cause the weapon to not function properly, one thing I learnt from the M11 family of weapons is that the magazine is the true heart of the weapon if you have a bad mag your gun will jam every time
William Sands grow up. The 2nd amendment is there for a reason. If that is the case then lets ban the 1st amendment and then we would not have to listen to idiots like you.
Probably over wound it I never had a problem with either model I had my only complaint is that the trigger on the liberty 100 was way to stiff wasn't fun to shoot at all but my m900 was the best ever, super easy and smooth trigger pull, ppl normally say the intratec tec 9 is the pappy of the jam o matics but if you find a interdynamics KG99 or at least a tec 9 with a KG 99 upper receiver you best grab it those are made very well never had as much as a hiccup with that gun
“I have a massive disadvantage at close range. I’ve lost my Calico. My Contender needs reloading. However...Avalon.”
I see you are a man of culture
ahh... A man of culture i see
A man of culture as well, same with the other video of the Thompson Contender
Ahh, a fellow man of culture I see
If I could get my hands on one of those, Im getting red tracer rounds for it and buying a stormtrooper outfit.
Dead Channel I was literally about to say it looks exactly like a frickin Empire blaster rifle lol.
You guys have never seen Star Wars, I think the the S11 looks more like a “blaster rifle”
It's so cool
Just get a couple of high point carbines that are white
look it up there back i just looked up the website and there still in production

3:13 I love how he rolls his eyes at the remake of Total Recall. The original was great. The remake had nothing to offer.
Have had one for many years. Kind of a pain to shoot in that you have to have all the settings perfect but astonishingly accurate. The balance of this gun is insane. The recoil goes straight back so there is no barrel climb. The ability of this thing to bullseye even while rapped firing is amazing.

Marco Gallo touch my cheeta feel my beretta
Oh hey it's the Kiritsugun
Still one of the most iconic and quirky designs of the past century.
God I wish I could get my hands on one of them in Europe.
Just got mine? Had one in the 80's. Now have one in the 2021. Bought all of the assy's. It is FULL of BADASSERY!!
Damn it, it is COOL as hell! Liberty1.
ive never seen a calico fire that many rounds in a row
100 percent true they were garbage
Go to forgoten weapons
I've got one and I ran all 99 rounds through it without a problem. I must be a lucky one.
One of the guns I regret not buying.
You also see them in the first CnC game! Basic Infantry used Calico M900. But they called them ingame as GAU-3 Eliminator.
Such a BEAUTIFUL 80s Blaster
The 80s was truly a GREAT Decade for Guns
Very Well thought out and Artistic designs
GOTTA Love Calico man💯✊🤟👌🔥👍🤘💪
That is one cool pistol! I remember 1st seeing this gun in the movie The Crow with Brandon Lee, One of the baddies had the Calico.
I am reading a novel where a mix of good guys and bad guys are shooting up other very bad guys with a gun called the Calico. So I had to look it up. Written in 1999 by John Connolly - his first PI Charley Parker novel. Looking it up helped me understand why this gun was chosen. LOL!
It’s good to see this get some love.
Neat carbine. I've always liked them.
That's the gun biggie was rapping about in warning
A lot of New York rappers rap about calicos.. makes me wonder if they were more abundant in the East Coast than in the west cause in Cali I never knew anyone that had one lol

They were garbage a toy at best

Ahh the Westinghouse M95A1 Phased Plasma rifle in the 40 watt range ancestors
I am in Australia and I very nearly bought the .22lr version in 1993. I would have had it confiscated by the government 4 years later if I did but at least I would have been able to say I owned and shot one!! I'm mad I didn't buy it!!
That's kinda gay man.
That gun is an NIGHTMARE
Imagine someone chases you with an hundred rounds
I was going to say I remember these in the 90s couldn't remember what year that it actually was but that is awesome
'İ got the calico with the black talons loaded in the clip' ~ Notorious B.İ.G
What an interesting firearm...
Wow really looks cool and neat. Thanks for the video
I miss my M900 😭 not so much the liberty 100 awesome weapon wish I still had it
I like the calico line of guns
007 Agent under fire i remember this gun in that game. Was curious so I looked it up all these years later.
Make the Calico great again!
That cylindrical clip is bad ass it comes in 50 round and 100 round i think
If they only made an automatic version for militaries and gendarmes, they might've had a chance to stay in the game.
They did and no one wanted them over the HK MP5
On this point I guess the p90 could already get the role.
it also had issues with reliability and the pp-19 "Bizon" was not "experimental" but just saw limited use with internal security forces.
Bring back
I remember this from 007 Agent under fire
The Klingons really stepped up their game!!!
Thats Vash the Stampedes pistol right there
then the second version he switched up to a p90
The magazine is no e. The Bizon has a similar one. The FN P-90 is somewhat similar (but only somewhat).
Unique, not 'no e'.
used to have a fully auto version.. well not mine.. but a law enforcement friends.. pretty serious gun..
I just watched "I come in peace' where I first seen this gun
Have they fixed the jamming problem? I the reviews I’ve seen a they couldn’t get the whole 100 rounds out. Had to keep ejecting jammed rounds to continue.
apart from target practice what would you need a 50 or 100 round magazine for?..... range suitable for hunting?
What a cool gun
The mags are limited to 100 rounds everywhere, why aren't they still available elsewhere?
They are available. You can order them right now. Apparently they are on a 4 month delay due to orders.
it looks like if the bizon had a baby with the hi point 995
I'd like to have it. It is my collection item.
Amazing gun.
Dark angel 1990 : i come in peace..
Seen in Dark Angel 1990 to.
I owned two of them and they were both lemons
I just bought one today for 500.00.
If only these guns were accurately represented in a different video game other then Warface. It seems games love to poke fun at this gun.
Nice watergun! Where can i get one?
4:46. There guy says it was the first helical magazine. Wrong. Evans rifle 1873.
I thought the mags were terrible??
Im pretty sure you can also spot one in the James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies too in full auto.
I want this in the apocalypse
The gun that loves to jam.
Over wound or under wound
I have one
Spaceballs! Watch out!
*When the boog boi grabs an AP .22 calico gun*
I LOVE IT GIVE ME TWO.
I come in Peace/Dark Angel alien weapon.
big sad moment
I Come in Peace
Deep Rising
Hes going to bring up spaceballs but not james bond?
I keep black talons loaded in the clip
Im the only dude coming from battlefront 2,the assault class blaster
There should be more top fed guns.
Why is there recoil?
Take my money
Roller locking is not the same as roller delayed blowback. Dont mix it up.
I have an M100 for trade..pre ban

M16 will obsolete if calico still exists 😂
Want it
its funny because it was made in california
Hello
Hello? Anybody here ?
The Government Will Not Be My SLAVE MASTER! !!!NEVER!!!
"Laws" don't protect anyone. They're simple made to punish. And usually not very effectively.
Laws what a joke
Those guns jam
The magazine never feeds all the way thru
Ronald Reagan hi had mine for 29 yrs no failures in material .i have had bad ammo in that when ammo discovered to b bad was saved and later disassembled to have found the primer not not encircleing the whole primer pocket just bought brand new rifle from them.they really r misunderstood firearms

did you wind it? nobody ever reads the fucking manual
Calico's are excellent at removing the low IQ's from the gene pool. If you don't charge the mag it won't feed. RTFM or DIE.
Juvenile rapped about these all the time.
9mm
I have one for trade
Is this came from fallout?
Gun was made in 93 banned in 94 and now legal to own again
Not one of them talked about how it runs because it was a constant Jamomatic.
Russians didnt copy the magazine. Calico has moving part at the center and on bizon the outer part is moving - ua-cam.com/video/WHwfZPrKXFs/v-deo.html
Made in state they are illegal in
Lol it was b4 the AWB but yea pretty funny they are in organ now
Has no recoil so.... Whats up
What an awkward firearm. I've never actually seen one. Until now.
Aren't these guns incredibly unreliable and cumbersome?
The problem with them is a lot of ppl don't know how to wind them properly they either under wind them or over wind them and that will cause the weapon to not function properly, one thing I learnt from the M11 family of weapons is that the magazine is the true heart of the weapon if you have a bad mag your gun will jam every time
Literally everyone says this gun sucks
Cuz they don't know how to use it right 😂😂😂😂😂 I'll take all calicos ppl don't want
What’s one less gun manufacturer in the world eh?
it was a good law it did not go far enough
William Sands grow up. The 2nd amendment is there for a reason. If that is the case then lets ban the 1st amendment and then we would not have to listen to idiots like you.
Worst gun ever made :) This one loves "the jam" :)
