A tour of the amazing old tools in the Festool museum in Germany! Festool started in 1925 and over the years has made many different woodwork tools of all sizes.
Lol, I'm still using a Wadkin staircase cutting machine. Built in 1961 it's older than me and it cuts both strings simultaneously for both treads and risers. Old stuff well maintained is often the best.
Nice video, Festo used to be into Timber Framing more then woodworking recently. If you want that hand held chain mortiser check out the one from Mafell, the also have the handheld groover (NFU50) and more tools like these.
Awesome and extremely robust machines !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish they still made these machines.Thank you very very much sir for posting this beautiful video sir.Extremely grateful to you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
When visiting another city or country, every educated person must visit a museum. Visiting museums is very useful and fascinating. A love for the "eternal" and "beautiful" is awakened in a person, the beginnings of greatness and respect for history are inculcated. It is impossible to turn the excursion into something banal, ordinary and boring. The person should be a comprehensively developed person, cultured, educated, critically and analytically thinking, with knowledge of foreign languages. It is the knowledge of a foreign language that opens wide prospects for a person to realize his/her creative potential, career and financial growth. I would like to recommend the practical training course by Yuriy Ivantsiv "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language", where you can find lots of useful information how to learn a foreign language quickly. Learn a foreign language and realize your creative potential on an international scale! The international community needs creative ideas! Thanks to the author of the channel for a very fascinating tour!
Es una lástima que a muchas herramientas como las que están en este museo les tuvieran que cortar los cables de potencia, entiendo que es por seguridad pero su valor histórico y funcional se deprecia muchísimo, una pena 😕 It's a pity that many tools like the ones in this museum had to have their power cables cut, I understand that it's for safety but their historical and functional value depreciates a lot, a shame 😕
@The Dusty Lumber Co, you should watch some of the videos for Shoyan the Carpenter in Japan. He has the makita versions of many of these tools and STILL USES them. He also has a coule special machines for cutting tennons that you would flip over.
I actually do envy you mate … You LOVE your work, you build amazing stuff BUT you actually LOVE EVERYTHING about it … Most people, including me hate having to go to work everyday but we do it because we have to … I bet you look forward to going to your workshop to build your stuff!!! I salute you mate!!! Fair play to you!!! 👊🏻👊🏻
Welcome to germany! Thanks for your little tour of woodworking history. I hope you enjoyed it and you could see some more interesting things here :D greez from germany :D
Nobody but Dusty could guide me thru that place. His exuberance in the radial arm section is truly infectious. Doesn't it make you wanna see him build a joint with one of those things?
Hey now that kind of talk is un-American. The Chinese build to specifications, in a challenging regulatory environment. The German government, resources, and access to regional markets that value this level of quality are exceptional. But that’s no reason to badmouth literally billions of people.
Very cool. I think I remember seeing a couple of those types of tools in my Grampa's water powered mill. That would have been 40 odd years ago. Yikes, just realized, I'm almost a dinosaur 😂😂😂
Have you heard of Mafell? They make some of the tools you said you wish Festool would still make. Mafell is not that far away from Festool (115km) - both have their headquarters in south Germany.
Tell u this they could take some inspiration from some them old tools to put into new designs. But yea people had some strength back in day. U must be in heaven there dusty. U commissioned a proper old tool to be remade for u yet?? 🏴😁👍
I didn’t know festool have been around for so long thanks for showing this trip down memory lane
Awesome! Happy to share
Think they made the first chain saw iirc
What a fantastic museum, like many I didn't realise that they'd been around for so long. What a place!!!
It is great to see the evolution from the old tools to the new ones. Enjoy your trip in Germany!!!!!
Thank you very much!

Wild to see how far festools come compared to other tool companies that have problably been around for only 20 years
Love the old HOLZ-HER circular saw 😍
👍👍
🇹🇷öke maşallah güzel marking. Malzemeden çalmamış. Adam adam gibi makina yapmış. Helâl olsun.🇹🇷

This is so cool ,,, only DIY'ers and wood entusiants will find this amazing
I enjoyed the tour!
Holy crap… amazing video but the real impressive thing was YOU TALK! 😉
I follow all your videos, and you really should invest a few dollars in a decent camera. These skinny I-shots are not doing it for me !!!
I actually thought festool was a relatively new brand but this shows how wrong I was and what an amazing selection.
Guess Festool making a CMS version of a jointer and band saw is out of the question.
Εαν μπορουσα να ειχα τα πάντα απο τα φεστο θα ημουν ο πιο ευτυχισμενος ξυλουργος του κοσμου.
I bet the museum staff was just thrilled to be sweeping up sawdust, LOL.
I get notified there is new content on this channel, when I click on it there is nothing new??? There appears to be something wrong??
I wish they would bring back some of these beauties.
Welcome to germany! Thanks for your little tour of woodworking history. I hope you enjoyed it and you could see some more interesting things here :D greez from germany :D

Definitely check out mafell tools ! They have massive tool (for timber framing). Maybe it's an issue because of festool collaboration with you?
Nobody but Dusty could guide me thru that place. His exuberance in the radial arm section is truly infectious. Doesn't it make you wanna see him build a joint with one of those things?

The bearings on the track saw are an amazing idea. I hope someone comes up with a way to incorporate them into the DIY track saw designs.

Древние станки против твоих ?
The Chinese wish they could be that talented in manufacturing machine tools.....move all our manufacturing out of China now ....
Hey now that kind of talk is un-American.
The Chinese build to specifications, in a challenging regulatory environment.
The German government, resources, and access to regional markets that value this level of quality are exceptional.
But that’s no reason to badmouth literally billions of people.
Great place! I wish the video was 5x longer with more detail with your same level of enthusiasm!
😁😁🙌

I think I remember seeing a couple of those types of tools in my Grampa's water powered mill. That would have been 40 odd years ago.
