SPREAD THE METAL LIKE A PLAGUE! - Розваги
"I want great albums, not a lot of albums."
There are a lot of great albums
Whenever he said that, that is exactly what I thought.
Yeah I got like 4 or 500 records and they're all wicked sick
I can agree 101% about how physical albums make you feel connected. I’m not super picky about how the sound quality is, as long as it’s not dogshit. Flipping the disk, and the needle dropping, and the 12x12 artwork just make the music more of an experience like attending a concert while I clean my room or just do paperwork. Btw, thanks for Scream Bloody Gore!
There was this guy that took one look at my CD collection & says "big deal, u do realise I can get all this for free on the internet?"
*facepalm*
Long live supporters of physical albums \m/
You will always have those people and you cant change them. The same with those that use Spotify n stuff.
🙄
Actually you can’t get it all on the internet. I’ve got many albums I love unavailable on streaming or UA-cam, but the same person who said that would never have heard of a band not on Spotify anyway.
I agreed with your every word in that video. Owning a physical copy of an album is much more meaningful than just playing it on Spotify. And I was the guy who bought the Rust in Peace album off you. I've been playing it none stop for the last few months and I think my neighbours want a bit of change. Looks like I might have to buy some more records because I think they're sick of hearing holy wars and hangar 18. Grind on Tony.
That's awesome man. I fucking love Rust in Peace, not a bad fucking song!
Rip record collection
I prefer CDs honestly. They're easier to take care of and they're usually cheaper.
I'm thinking about switching to CDs at some point. I only collect tapes, because they're what's most convenient for me, but I hate how so many albums never get tape release. I iust need to find a nice stereo for my car and my house first.
CD's also sound just as good as vinyl a good chunk of the time. They are also a heck of a lot more convenient if you are someone like me who listens to music in the car a lot. They also sound better than cassettes.
@@joshalan5125 I don't even hear much of a difference between CDs and vinyls. Must be all the damage on my hearing from concerts.
@@sethputnamsghost3820 lol. Hey, if you're going to damage your hearing, I can't think of a better way to do it. I usually wear ear plugs at concerts. I still hear it just fine because it's so loud anyway; I just get it without the eardrum damage.
Cd's are not worth it. It will deterirate, eventually
I have a song that would fit your previous moving predicament: “Heaviness of The Load” by the Melvins. Also my favorite band ever.
Saw the Melvins last year, they had two bass players. Insanely heavy!
Killbot&GorGorAttack!! One of the things I want to do before I die is see them live. Sadly, they never come to my area. Someday.
Melvins is definitely my favorite band of all time as well
Update on that I saw them in Charlotte last October
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack hey killbot just got violence has arrived on cd
It's awesome that you got Seven Churches as a gift. That was the first album I bought(at least for vinyl) when I started collecting two years ago
The only time I sell records I have is if I’m either:
Desperate for money
Don’t like a record I got in a box
No longer like the music.
A metal furry?. How does that fair in your furry community?. And do you have a hard time finding acceptance in your community because of it?.
No disrespect though. just curiosity.
Why do people who comment on this channel's videos act like being into metal is some crazy, taboo, underground thing? Literally no one cares that a person is into metal.
sPongebItch bObface Haha not at all, there’s literal metal furry telegram, Facebook and discord groups for it.
I prefer to own my music physically, I own about 100 records and 200 cd's. I used to prefer vinyl, but like you said it is a pain to move. I onyl get my favorite albums on vinyl and sometimes a blind buy if it's like a couple of euros. I bought Rainbow's long live rock 'n roll before I even heard it for 1,50€. It was my first record so it won't leave my collection. I might get a second copy since mine isn't in the best condition. Collecting music is always a lot of fun, finding deals like an OG dark side of the moon (german press) for 4€ or a copy of hotel calafornia by the eagles for 3€ and it came with the poster.
But like you I'd rather spend my money towards experienced. I saw Ministry, overkill, ghost, municipal waste (I met the band and I brought Ryan to the backstage room because I was helping to organize the concert) and a lot of other amazing bands live.
I love your videos, thank you for getting me into death metal, and keep up the good work
Black metal is the next step
I've already listened to black metal, I'm only just getting into death metal
@@Axxa3095 ah I see
I’ve got over 1000+ records and i can say that all of them are great, i think i’ll need get to around 2000 to be satisfied. I prefer not to do anything while listening to records because it easily becomes background noise that you hardly notice, even the stuff you love.
Thanks for selling me the Massgrave Stormcrow split! Very happy with it! \m/
Thank you! Damn good album too
I prefer vinyl because:
-the box art is bigger
-takes longer to play a vinyl and you need to change sides so you take your time to listen to the music
-sometimes extra content is included like sheet of paper with band info and lyrics
-vinyl comes in different colors and sometimes has pictures on the actual vinyl
Small things that add up unlike CDs that has way to small booklets/cover art for my taste, CDs are not in different colors...
Used to get a shirt/concert that I never used so started buying a vinyl/concert instead
I would prefer to also hear a messed up record than a messed up CD too. I hate that skipping crap.
In total agreement with all your points about vinyl. Well said!
Ouch. You know what dude, more power to you. I know people who would refuse to say goodbye to their records, but you seem to have handled it very well. \m/
Helped my collection! One step closer to completing my Iron Reagan collection cause of you.
i respect that brotha. Got over shirt and record collectin too to focus my money towards gigs and other hobbies.
Iam more a collector cause when i break down what i have to pay most of the time to see a band urgh. Shure i live in the most populated area in Germany but when i want to see a band i have to pay entrance maybe 20-40€ sometimes less sometimes more then i need to get there that cost me with train to get there and back home 20-60€ (maybe more) cause my town is kinda dead when it comes to metal gigs) and then i maybe want some beers on the concert again 10-30€ and all that with out even buying merch. Thats all money i cant spend to get stuff from the band that why i like to order the stuff online and then directly for a bigger amount of money. The only concert i was this year was Rammstein in Berlin but that was a 4 day trip with a long time friend that i know since Elementary School and it was a Birthday Gift (we know us now for 20 years so not a big deal for us)
I've also been downsizing my collection lately. It feels great to let some of the stuff go. It's better they find a new home.
Hey bro! I dont think it means much (youre brobably not even gonna see this comment) but i want to say that you were the first metal youtuber i ever watched and because of you i discovered great bands and gernes! I have to say that you are my metal role model! Your love for the music and the metal sub culture is amazing! Been a metalhead for almost 2 years and i think you have put me on the right track. Thank you.
I LOVE your music you should make an album! grind on
yea thats why I started my channel. no one was talking about industrial so I have decided to do it myself! It always feels great to downsize and ea quality over quantity is always the way to go! Great video, and good job on your journey.
I’m in the process of doing this right now and these videos pop up. Glad you aren’t regretting it, I caught myself second guessing myself a few times.
Great video man! I started downsizing my record collection recently as well. I hope you kept the Dystopia stuff!!!
Only kept 30 something albums, the Dystopia stuff went. Have that stuff on CD
I would love to have some good classic recorfs on vinyl but overall i prefer cds
2:45 I actually think that Autopsy video along with Bolt Thrower and Bathory are your best videos. Idk what it is about them but I really like those older ones for some reason

SOAD’s self titled is overlooked by death/thrash/black metal fans because “limp bizkit sucks so all nu metal sucks too” but it’s heavy, punky, politically charged, goofy, and I love it. Sorry for the rant.
StykkiSyyxGames 441 SOAD really isnt Nü Metal to me, My fav albums in my Collection are Metallica and Death
Don't you mean *Testament-* *Brotherhood of the snake*
sPongebItch bObface yes I don’t know why it’s typed like that
To each his/her own, and i do get what you're saying, my man... however, i have a decent vinyl collection, still buy stuff, though CDs are also ok by me. actually, since i'm oooooold, i started buying vinyl in 1980-81, when i put away my toys (except for my Kiss dolls ha) and started down the rocknroll path. then, in 1989, i thought vinyl was really over and sold at least 500 masterpieces. about five or six years later i thought that was insane so i tried to get a lot of stuff back somehow. and i did, to a certain extent. BUT thanks to that holy grail-like search, i ended up buying great albums that i never had before, i.e. Atomic Rooster, Quatermass, Hard Stuff, Captain Beyond, Guru Guru, Cactus, Bang, the Edgar Broughton Band and lots of heavy 70s obscure stuff... i still miss my Frehley's Comet albums, or my Celtic Frost, Voivod, Kreator, Mercyful Fate, Death Angel, Deathrow, Destruction, COC, Nuclear Assault, Battleaxe, Raven e.p. collection. Oh, i do regret selling those albums, believe me... cds sound fine, but there's something to be said about the ambience that a vinyl copy helps create, and that has a lot to do with the bass, not only with a certain state of mind. i try to listen to my records as often as i can, paying total attention and just diving into the sound- nothing comes close, not even sex haha... well, i don't know about that, but anyway! btw, nice vinyl collection- His Hero is Gone rules, BUT hey, c'mon tha Sabbath 13 comeback album is so-so, no Bill Ward bashing no 'trve' Sabbath there, rick rubin be damned! thanks for reading!
New subscriber I’ve been trying catch up on all of your videos. Keep up the good work! 🤘🤘
Great video, been thinking about selling some records too lately.
I like records and play them when I'm painting .but you really gotta be by the machine to hear it good.cds are the best format as long as you don't lend them out and and take care of them
I tried to play my dad’s bass. It was horrible as in my playing.
Tip: You should organize them in compartments by genre like for example get the metal records you like and put that in a storage bin, label the bins so you know which is which.
This comment is old but : I find it difficult to differentiate genres especially with more grind and the like in my collection . I sort mine from "least" to most" heavy which in itself is a little difficult to differentiate and subjective, but it makes it easy for me to pick music based on what i wanna listen to . My collection so far goes from tori amos to spectral voice
This was a really thoughtful, interesting video. The comments are entertaining too. I completely understand the frustration that comes with vinyl. I only ever had about fifteen records as a kid before cassettes and, eventually, CDs, took over. I tossed my records in the mid-80s after a family tragedy and subsequent move, thinking they’d never come back in style. Well, here we are thirty plus years later and low and behold, I got sucked into collecting records again about a year and a half ago. I totally love it and am completely addicted. I do take the time to listen to them, but it’s really an effort to make time. The biggest problem I see is finding the space for them. I have a small home and the records are just scattered everywhere. The prices are ridiculous too. I also find myself still buying copies of albums on CD or even MP3, in order to enjoy the portability. The price of CDs right now compared to vinyl is miles apart and I honestly don’t hear that much of a difference in sound quality. Good for you, Tony, for making the best decision for yourself. I can see a day in the future where I may have to make a similar decision. At the rate I’m buying vinyl, I will run out of space in no time. For now, really having a great time enjoying vinyl again. The hobby is at an insanely crazy level. It will slow down. More people will eventually realize some of the issues a few of us are already experiencing. Not sure how soon the vinyl revival will slow, but it’s inevitable. LPs are too expensive and cumbersome for the majority of the public to want to stick with the hobby.
I personally cannot sell any of my records off. I admittedly don't have a lot of time atm to listen to all of them, but I cannot even think about getting rid of them. Just so damn cool seeing a row of right now around over 20ish or so LPs (more come everyday) so I just can't do it. But we are different so it's completely understandable.
You're going to get so much hate from vinyl lovers. Lol. Love you bro. 🤘🤘🤘💀💀💀💯💯💯🤣🤣🤣
This video made my day \m/
I just don't have any more storage space in my modest abode for more vinyl, c.d.'s or books. If I buy anything new or second hand, it means getting rid in equal amounts of what I have but has served to bolster quality. Surpluses I give away to friends or save up to go to charity shops. Now it's downloads on my p.c. and transferring on to memory sticks once I hit full discographies. The memory sticks are building up too.
I could never
I absolutely love collecting music, both vinyl and CD. I am much the same as you opening comments; i prefer quality over quantity. However, some albums i do wish to have multiple copies of. both behemoth's and Deicide's newest albums i own on both vinyl and CD, as a bonus the shirts for both albums too. I typically dont care to have them on both.
I really can't stop watching your content i might consider donating to you on Patreon within 2 Months it's nice meeting you Tony i will continue binge watching your content for another 2 weeks :)
Great business practices. Awesome collection by the way
For me I prefer cheaper cassettes because In my opinion the sound really good. They are also easier to carry around than cds and vinyl. My dad says I’m wasting my money when I collect them and listen to them.
Completely agree with the cd thing. I did not really appreciate dirty deeds done cheap. Got it on cd now I love it
This is a great idea in minimalism!
What are everyone's thoughts on cassettes? Although Vinyl is probably the cooler option atm. Cassettes were how the music got around in the 80s.
also, you should try and make a twitter at somepoint killbot.
Cassettes are my favorite physical format for sure. Especially since you can only find some demos & eps only on cassette or 7". Plus if you're weird like me, you can play a Protector or Sindrome album on an old mini hello kitty radio, It's rad.
Whatever you like, but I wouldn't want to go back to them because they can warp and break.
Where in our great home of North Carolina do you live that was so far from the major cities? I live in Cary, so Raleigh is a 15 minute drive, Durham is a 30-45 minute drive, Greensboro is 1.5 hours away and Charlotte is a 2.5 hour journey.
Use "Media Mail" to ship vinyl with USPS. It will cost you less than $3.50.
I have recently started selling a lot of my CDS as I have been collecting for 30 years and some never get played and just gather dust so they may as well get sold to people who will play them. I still like those albums but I just don't play them anymore.
Dude I love your shirt
I spied a Genitorturers cd in this video...awesome. Met Jen a few times back in the mid-90's, she's rad af
Saw them open for Lords of Acid on the Pretty in Kink tour. Gen was a sweetheart! Killer band

killer 120 days of Genitorture CD there \,,/ ... cheers JC/Miami
Yeah, thanks to you I have a Typo O Negative addiction. Thhhhhanks.
You kept "the Fragile" I am so happy :)
Don't know if you got back into records again at all, but odyssey record cases are the way to go. Basically road tour cases for vinyl, the lids can be fully removed and they latch closed, it's the only way to go for me
I did the same a few years ago. Made a ton of money. Totally worth it.
Makes total sense that you are from around the Sandhills area.
The pure eccentricity is a trait of ours.
I'm going to be moving in the next few months. I've gradually reduced my collection. Today I got rid of 20 vinyls. If i already have the cd and if I havent listened to it this year then it's gone.
woulda bought but canada has some crazy shipping prices
I wanna see what songs u have on ur Spotify playlist bc ur an interesting guy who has good taste in music
God this is relatable. But with the actual music, not the physical records.
I see genitorturers on your shelf epic! But yeah I really like vinyl, but I prefer cd's because of their portability and how they are easier to store. Vinyl has better quality and you get a better view of the art though.
Saw them recently, they were incredible. Even got a pic with Ryan and Gen (very nice).
Yeah, vinyl often sounds better. My preferred listening format with many albums (hence why I’m keeping some of them). But the upkeep can also be aggravating, making sure they’re shelved correctly, cleaned, shipped correctly...
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack Yeah, I think one of the major cons with vinyl is the upkeep, you gotta be real careful when it comes to scratching and stuff like that.
I listen to music mostly working out or driving in car. My car still has a cd player and when I work out I play cd's.
At :40 what is the album thats to the right of the vinyl’s
Entombed - Left Hand Path is a classic
Nice video... greetings from Bolivia
CDs are beter then Vinyl in every way i love em =)
very nice
my recored collection is small but i got these
CD:
Cowboys From Hell - Pantera
Nirvana MTV Unplugged - Nirvana
Alice In Chains Greatest Hits - Alice In Chains
Vitalogy - Peral jam
Vinyl:
None
Cassette:
Scream Bloody Gore - Death
And thats all
Holy shit!
I have had to purchase IMPALED - Death After Life 3 times. First copy stolen when car was broken into, it was in the cd player. Second was trashed, third was lent out never to be seen again.
I've got 100's, no 1,000's of albums. I like them all. They ain't going anywhere!
I dont sell records. Especially not first press. The value is going up.
How long has it been since you last cut your hair (I'm not trying to be mean)?
A year. Lady fucked up my hair so ive been deliberately waiting longer to get it trimmed again
You can you a lot more of what you want on cds, in terms of metal, for a much better price.
Better to limit vinyl to specific albums and to get albums made closer to initial releases, rather than reissues.
I recently had to track down Filth Pig on cd. I found it new on eBay, ended up being a Columbia house cd.
Hey man I'm just starting a record collection I have about 12 what are some tips about getting more and websites that are cheap other than Amazon and ebay.
Labels like Relapse are good, then go to Discogs, the variety is fantastic
Killbot&GorGorAttack!! Ok I'll try those thx
I only use Discogs when buying online! It’s usually a lot cheaper than eBay and it’s all buy now or make offers so none drives up bids all crazy!
Let me ask to you: Do yo have Mayhem´s vinyl record "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas"?
So what determines if you will keep the album on vinyl?
If I can get the CD for much cheaper, if the record has songs that are vinyl-only, if the record has ever been pressed on CD (the Portion Control and Lead Into Gold albums in this video have not), and whether or not the sound is an astronomical jump between formats.
Damn! You were selling born again and I missed it. One of my favorite sabbath albuks
I bought the German Vertigo CD pressing afterwards, mastered by Hans Brethouwer. Sounds way better than the CDs that came after it, and honestly better than the US vinyl. There also isn’t that weird separation between “the dark” and “zero the hero” that they’re doing now. Look into it if you can!
Killbot&GorGorAttack!! Sorry for the late response, I have the remastered cd from 2010 and it sounds like shit, I’ll try to get this copy
Does anyone have any tips of good places to buy cds online? Where I live, the only place we had to buy them was fye and a hurricane destroyed the store. I found out a few weeks ago that they aren’t reopening, so I’m looking for other options.
I buy a ridiculous amount of stuff from Discogs
CD Universe, you'll always get your money's worth. Discogs is great if you want the rare stuff or first press copies.
Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll look into both of them.
I wanna get deicide self titled on vinyl but i can only find it on amazon for 100$ dollars
I mean, if you hang on to them for about 10 years they usually appreciate pretty well if they're a colorway other than black.
So you mentioned why you stopped buying vinyls, but as a newbie to music collecting, I want to know: what are the perks of vinyl as opposed to other mediums?
And what's your opinion on cassettes?
I don’t like tapes. They wear and they’re noisy.
Vinyl when pressed from master tapes sound full, have more bass, and sound more natural in general. Especially since its one analogue format to another. With digitally recorded albums, you may notice a difference in the amount of dynamic range.
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack Thanks man!
The only reason I got into his channel was cause if the Ramones vinyl review
thats why CDs > Vinyls =)
New subscriber. Love your content.
YOU MUST UPDATE ON WHAT RECORDS YOU KEPT.
Literally thought about it the whole video and was waiting for it at the end.
Welcome to the channel!!
Here are the LPs I kept:
AC/DC “back in black”
Bathory’s first two
Carcinogen “kure”
Death Piggy “welcome to the record”
Ghoul “hang ten”
Lords of Acid “pretty in kink” 2lp
Nine Inch Nails “the fragile”
Scolex “torn from beyond”
Thin lizzy “chinatown”
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack wow! You really did clear house!
I grew up on punk and have been starting really get into DM. Your channel has been a great resource.
Sat and listened to Autopsy’s “Mental Funeral” yesterday after your favorite albums video. It might now be one of my favorites. First time I’ve listened to a record back to back in immediate succession in a very very long time.
Also really appreciated your Bolt Thrower video. Super funny and endearing. You remind me of the kids I grew up with.
Keep making videos!
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack since you have a really good grasp on both genres, would love to see a “metal for punks” video and a “punk for metalheads,” video. Love some good recommendations.
What are your thoughts on Knocked Loose? I like metal and hardcore so but no one ever gives me a real response to this question
@Riley Noland I know both of those bands but I don't know what the metal community thinks of them. I know that not a lot of metal heads like hardcore. Personally, it is one of my favorite genres. Btw check out a band called REPS and a band called Kodivk. They are from Rochester and I am good friends with them. Also check out County Kings. They are from Sodus Point, but you can only find them on UA-cam.
They're coming to my city (England) in late May. Never have I bought a ticket so quick since Fidlar (which was also in my city of England)
In general I don't like hardcore vocals, it isn't just a KL thing. However they've got some heavy as fuck riffs, and I have to give them credit for that
I have a Fleetwood Mac record that my uncle had since he was a teenager but doesn't mean I have to buy on cd. It will be hard for me to lose a lot of money for purchasing them. I have lots of cds and the rest of my favourite songs I listen them on the phone. If I bought the cd I delete the songs that I have downloaded on my phone.
“Big heavy loads” hehe
Hey did you know that cassettes are back?
The problem here is that you will more than likely end up regretting it. I love collecting. I have over 600 vinyl, 700 cds and 800 cassettes. The only time I sell is if I desperately need money or I will do trades. Otherwise there are still thousands I need. My cutoff point in getting everything I want is probably at the six or seven thousand limit. Of course I've been buying, selling, trading for over 25 years.
Tony Eckman The only problem with this is that you need tons of room seeing that you have that much of a collection. That or people aren’t a fan of having that many CDs or Vinyls, etc.
Yes! Cds are so underrated!
How the mighty have fallen
Do you listen to Aetherian? They’re a death metal band.
I prefer cds or stream the albums on UA-cam
Didn't know you were in Greensboro that's crazy im in Fayetteville
Around the area
I’m sorry, and not trying to sound pretentious but 80-200 is already a small record collection! Personally I own over a thousand and I think they’re all essential. I own no dollar bin or yard sale filler so to speak, and I know dudes that have over 10,0000! Now that would be hard to move! Anything under 500 is extremely manageable in my opinion...
While it is cool to own certain albums on vinyl. CDS will have more tracks. I own both Land of Rape and Money on cd and vinyl and the cd has extra songs.
The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste on vinyl sounds excellent, assuming you can find a copy that doesn’t have a manufacturing skip during “So What”
