How does this pattern (skinny version) compare to the Sabrina slim pants?
@@karenpieczonka5581 the only similar thing is the skinny leg. These have classic Jean features that the Sabrina’s don’t have (yoke, pockets). I think these are more complete and offer more options.

I agree! Spent lots of money but didn’t waste any on a pattern that needed work. My only wish is that I had the fabric that Karina has access to. Slim pickings where I live and shipping makes it cost prohibitive. Happy Sewing!

Katrina thanks for providing all this content -- It is so helpful! I just reorganized my sewing space, and I am so excited to get these printed out and give them a try (I actually have some stretch denim that I think will work out perfectly). I will look it up on your channel, but have you made the Itch to Stitch Mountain View Pull on Jeans? Do you have a preference of one vs. the other? I now have both, but haven't made either. I like all the options of this one, so I'm really excited to try it.
Thank you Karina, I ordered the pattern using your link. Fingers crossed I can find some fabric in the UK, not easily available here I am afraid. I will make many pairs of these, just what I have been looking for, my old shop bought ones that fit me are worn out. Planning on making some shorts for summer from this pattern too.

Thank you for this video - I was having problems understanding some of the steps but you helped me immensely. I'm a boxy shape so I'm struggling right now to blend two sizes together to get a relatively decent fit. Wish me luck! LOL

I’ve just made these jeans today and was really pleased up until the waistband. I felt the instructions in the pattern were a bit ambiguous. I’ve reread the instructions, Now that I have seen your inside out version I can see how it was intended to be. At least I think so. Next pair I make I will do better at the waistband. The diagram in the pattern was vague.

I don't comment very often but i have to thank you for answering me sometime last year with the explanation about the petite and tall. Since I've been purchasing/making the petite, its made my fitting issues so much easier. As a 4'10 person I stopped trying to make the tall file LOL. I'm learning thanks to you.

Please, I'm stuck! How do I do a full tummy Adjustment on these? The center line is no longer straight and I don't understand how to make the pocket bag fit without a center seam. Can you point me in the right direction?
With a tummy adjustment you achieve what your body need and the shape on the center is needed. Yes you may need a center seam on the pocket. I suggest using lighter fabrics inside for the pocket lining. The important thing is changing the pocket shape to have the new shape of your adjusted front piece.
After watching your videos I've made the switch to mostly indie pattern companies. Since you make so many of these patterns I would love a series from you comparing similar patterns, along the lines of Love Notions series "is this pattern for you". For example, what are the differences between Love Notion's Crescendo to Sinclair's Metro answering questions like, where does the waist hit on each, would the same fabric work for both, what features are unique to each, what kind of support is included in the pattern to help fit. This information would help to clarify which would work for me without buying multiple patterns that may do the same thing. Since you are an Ambassador for many of these pattern companies, I realize you may not be able to do this though, but I love the clear, logical way you present your information.
As you suggest at the end, I am not comfortable doing this type of content. Every brand has its uniqueness and I’ve never sewn a pattern exactly like another. If it’s not ease, style, size range, height files, more or less options. I’d be happy to compare within the same brand. I also hope that viewers can discern and make good choices because I provide so much information .
For the pocket bag, If you don’t really have a light weight stretch woven I wonder if cutting it on the bias would work?
Mmm it might but pieces on the bias get shorter when they stretch. I’ve never used bias as a stretch method.
For the pocket and pocket lining, is there a reason to do understitching on the pocket edge when you are going to topstitch it too?

Always. Only top stitching does not keep the lining unseen.

Nope :) Just regular thread in a golden color.
Is there any options for a larger tummy area!
This pattern does not have an adjustment already made for a fuller tummy area but you can blend sizes and the waist area is elasticated, so it’s easier to get a comfy fit.

how do these compare to the Sabrina Slims, I bought those last year and haven't made them yet. I'm not sure I should buy yet another pants pattern without making any of them. hahah These look pretty great though.
I can’t comment on the Sabrina because I’ve never made them. My impression is that these are superior in every sense. There are more leg styles and classic jean features that the Sabrina’s don’t have.

Hi there - at 10 mins in when you sewed the pocket lining to the front, it doesn't look like 1cm (3/8") seam allowance - did you cut it down before you cut notches in the curve? Or did you use a smaller seam allowance?
I didn’t show the actual sewing of the seam, just the snipping. I’d never leave a 3/8” seam allowance in there. To reduce bulk, I trim it to 1/4”, snip and then understitch. I sewed it with 3/8”

Another great video. I always look for your videos for inspiration. I have the Sinclair Metro pattern that looks similar to the Crescendo Jeans. How would you compare the two?
The Metro have totally different waistbands, pockets and one leg style. I love them both.

I love the red pants with the Nosara top.
I have a question about the front fitting. I know there is a curvy adjustment for the back, but what about fitting with a poochy belly?
Then you’d need to do another adjustment to the front. That is not in the pattern and would be personal fitting that is totally possible.

They are very very different. The Mountain view don’t have a big elastic on the inside of the waistband at all. It’s a much wider curved waistband. They also have a vertical seam down the back of the leg. They have different pockets too. They are both great! I’ve made many of each. These are faster and have more leg styles :)
