This was really amazing. You've really put your heart and soul into this series and it will be a classic for a long time, I'm sure. You teach the things that no pattern ever tells you but that are essential for garment sewing success at home. Thanks, Karina. 💗💗💗
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles And that's what makes what you're doing so wonderful! I need to see things, sometimes every step in a process (which patterns can't do) so your method of teaching is perfect. Thanks 🤗🤗🤗
I’m surprised you don’t have more subscribers. This is such a high quality tutorial. So well explained and not a bunch of useless hard to follow information. I’m really enjoying watching your videos.
It’s ok. The channel has had a normal growth and my number one priority is helping people love their sewing. This series was a labour of love for everyone :)
Thank you so much for this series. You have explained things brilliantly and increased my understanding of how to fit trousers immensely! I salute your bravery and commitment to filming it all. Seeing the adjustments on a real body is most helpful way to understand them. I am recommending this series to anyone I know who wants to make trousers. Thank you once again 🙂
I'm a few years late to this party but just wanted to thank you. I've found your skills building videos incredibly helpful and I'm trying to work my way through them all! 🙂
I’m so glad i remembered you put this series out. I didn’t need it at the time, but 3 years later, here i am with a baggy bum in the pants i’m working on. Thankyou as always for putting these technique videos out. They’re a great resource.
I was discouraged wanting to give up making pants altogether. But you pant fitting videos have been so helpful that I will give it another go. Thank you so much.
This was an awesome tutorial. Not only did u talk about fitting issues, you demonstrated in a sample garment what it looks like. I’ve been sewing for a long time. Sewing pants was easy for me. As I got older with body changes it became a challenge. I have several of the fitting issues you demonstrated. I am a visual learner, your tutorial is worth me buying you a few cups of koffee. Thanks.
Alethia I am exactly in the same boat. I could sew pants for myself since Highschool and always got great flattering results , never having to alter anything but the darts to have a beautiful pair of pants. Then sometime after turning 50 my bum changed shape and ready to wear no longer fit and patterns became a nightmare. This video explains so clearly how to figure out the problem and fix it.
@@robynnbryar1977 I made changes to my pants pattern after watching her tutorial. OMG! much better fit in the bum and crotch area. Also, the fabric you use play a role in how the pants fit.
Thank you, Karina, for doing this pants mini series. You are an amazing teachers and I appreciate all the information you share with us. Love your voice - it is so calming - and also love the sound of the birds when outside.
Fabulous job Karina! I can really tell you put all of your effort into this series. I'm a visual learner, so this is extremely helpful. I carry a lot of my weight in my hips & thighs, even my calves are larger than most. This series will be invaluable for me. The fit you have in all of your garments are fantastic. Because you tackle fit in your VLOGs is what made me subscribe to your channel in the first place. Most people don't take the time to share the knowledge of how to get good fit. Most patterns don't even tackle the subject of fit. For those of us who didn't go to school to learn the trade of being a seamstress, this is much needed content! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You have inspired me to try my hand at sewing some new pants.
I cannot understand why anyone would give this series a thumbs down. It's the best visual of making adjustments I've seen and knowing "the why" is so important. You have a wonderful approach and the fit of all the garments you have made are spot-on. Do you have plans to share information on a sway back adjustment? I'm finding a need to remove some extra fabric on my tops and would appreciate your view on tackling this area.
The dislikes will always be there and I try not to dwell because I’ve made the best video I can make and I’m proud of the content and know it helps. Thank you so much for your encouragement 😀. I am in planning stages of a fitting series for tops.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I have a favorite pair of pants and also shop at thrift stores where i find clothes that could use some adjustments but i didnt know how to do that!!! So great!!! Your the best!! I was so frustrated seeing pants look like this and having to put nice pants back!!! Going shopping!! Lol!!
Thanks for this latest addition to the ultimate pant fitting saga, including some heroic muslin making! I'm sure I will come back to this playlist a lot for reference, as will many others. :-)
I'm so glad i refound this series! i had the wedgie problem happening when i sit down or bend in my Winslow culottes and my mind went of you need more space scoop out the curve. I'm glad i did that on a redrawn pattern not the original cause it sounds like its back to the drawing board and in for another mock up. I am SO glad that i didn't decide to just jump into making my next pair out of linen!!
I'm a year late but wow! I adjusted today my pants that were too baggy in front. (These are the first pair I ever made) Boy, what a difference in the fit. Thank you for making this video!!!!
Thank you so much. You are a wonderful and natural teacher. You have clarified the mysteries of crotch adjustment. And, I thought it was fun & interesting! LOL!
You are too funny Karina. Thank you for your courage, it's not easy talking about about those big mammals with the split toes. All joking aside those fit issues are probably the most common and horrible looking issues we deal with in pant fits. This will be such a big help, thank you.
Brilliant explanation and demonstrations - you are a truly gifted teacher! I'll wait as long as it takes for your excellent series to be completed. I have some lovely fabric waiting to be cut and sewn. Take care!
Wow, thank you for all the work you put into this series. Not only the planning, but to have to make pants that don't fit properly, then to show how to fix them and explain the process. This must have taken so long. It is so helpful and very much appreciated! Your videos are amazing, Karina, and I'm so thankful for all you do.
I should have watched this episode before I decided I could just change the crotch curve on a pattern I had never made. I thought I would need more fabric so I made a way shallower curve pretty much all the way up the back. No harm done though, I just sewed it in further when they were done. Looking forward to the next episode, and I'm planning to watch the others again. Thank you for going to all the trouble.
Rewatching episodes 3,4 and 5. This has been a great help in fitting. Will let you know what the end result is. Keep making these mini series, they are very useful.
All your videos are fabulous, thank you so much for being brave enough to model pants, it’s really useful to see what badly fitting pants look like and what to do to correct it.
I remembered that you had made these but was not ready at the time, Now I am studying every detail, and applying it to my first 'block' altering a commercial pattern. Thanks so much for the great information :)
This is an excellent video. For as long as I’ve been sewing, I’ve never known how much to start with and I love your saying to start small. Then on top of this, not only do you do the step, and show how you do it, but you also check for understanding by showing how it works on the pattern. Not many teachers do this, but you do! A three step process to make sure we understand. Que buena! Fantastico!
Thank you so much for this wonderful series. I have several pants fitting booklets that have come with patterns but the drawings were nowhere near as clear as your visuals and I appreciate you doing this on camera for us to see it. You are a wonderful teacher who inspires us to make better fitting clothes. I have paid to have videos to explain and they are not as engaging or informative as you are.xx
I enjoy your videos. You have put a lot of effort into these. I have spent a lot of money with a pants fitting consultant. Your videos are as good as hers. Your love of sewing and for your jewels is apparent. Hank you for your work.
I've always found shop bought trousers don't fit properly. I have a slightly flatter bottom these days (from having children), and my tummy is a bit larger than I would like 😁. As a result they are usually tight in the front but slightly baggy in the back. I rarely buy trousers and haven't had the courage to make any as I felt I would have much the same problems. This series has been a real eye opener for me and I am definitely going to give making a pair of simple trousers a go. Just seeing the step by step adjustments and how they work 'in real time' has been so helpful. thank you
Thank you so much! I’m new to alterations and have a common diaper look problem and this video helped me understand “the big picture” of how and why so will give this a try.
Thank you so much for your videos on pant fitting. I had such a lightbulb moment because you explain things so well and it’s brilliant to actually see the issue in the muslin and then see the fix. Well done and thanks again.
Amazing! I have tried to make pants for myself in past years but became discouraged. You break the fitting down into smaller pieces. I will try this again. Thanks for the information and the encouragement!!
You have done a wonderful job on this series of pant fitting videos. I think I will remember now whether to scoop or not when making adjustments on my pants. Thanks so much.
Karina, your videos are so well explained and easy to understand. I make all of my clothes, (yes all of them : ) ), and now that i'm getting older, my main fitting issue is that dang crotch. This was so helpful!! Thank you so much!
I think you are a wonderful teacher and I really appreciate all the effort you are putting into this series. I'm soaking up as much information as possible in anticipation of getting a sewing machine, my sister is very generously giving me hers since she doesn't use it anymore. I'm so excited to finally make and wear clothes that fit my body.
