- SPIRALIZER REVIEW 2018 - MY NEW FAVORITE KITCHEN GADGET
In today's video, a review of my new favorite kitchen gadget - the OXO spiralizer, and some ideas on how to use it to apply to different recipes.
So far, I have used the spiralizer for apples, cucumbers, zucchini, carrots, daikon, potatoes and sweet potatoes.
For apples (for my kale salad), the red blade is the best one to use.
For cucumbers, you can use all 3 blades.
For carrots, daikon, turnip etc, the best blade is the green one.
For zucchini, if you will consume them fresh - the red and the green blades. If you will fry them, the orange blade.
For potatoes - the orange blade.
For sweet potatoes, the red blade is the only one that will work.

Hello everyone, here is an Amazon link for the OXO spiralizer I'm using in this video: amzn.to/2JlTMFA
Perfect timing! I was just thinking about buying this spiralizer but wasn't sure, thank you so much for this great tutorial Sasha! :D
Linda Lee Hi Linda! And you are welcome! I love it! I hope you do as well 😍 Thank you for your comment! I appreciate it 😍
Awesome review of the product! It definitely looks like a lot of fun 😊
Thank you Zule! It is quite fun to use :) Thank you for stopping by :))
Great video. That food looked excellent. Really cool gadget. Thanks for the share!
Thank you :))
I just found your channel today (loved all of your gardening advice for tomatoes!!) and this is a lovely gadget. I already have a "manual" spiralizer and don't use it too much. But this gadget does so much more - I may just have to upgrade! Oh my, and I do have to try some of your recipes too!!! Keep them coming Sasha!
Thank you Bob! This is so nice of you to say :)
About the spiralizer - now that it is getting hot, I make all sorts of cool dishes with it - last night I had cucumbers with dill "spaghetti" :)
Thank you for the quick reply Sasha! If you don't already have one of these, and love pineapple like I do, this is a really cool gadget: www.amazon.com/dp/B00VTI8GNU/ (my favorite)
Using that gadget could be very addicting lol. Big 👍🙌
:)) It is... in the beginning, I caught myself being a bit wasteful because I was "spiralizing" for the heck of using it :)) But, I have learned how to restrain myself :) Thank you for stopping by P.C! As always, your support is more than appreciated :))
Thank you. After doing a lot of research, this one seems best. My vegetarian nephew will get it for Xmas.
Hello Mary! He is going to love it! Last week I made sweet potato chips (backed them in the oven) - so delicious and crunchy 😍 Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Best, Sasha
good review... thanks ma'am....
My pleasure! And thank you! I appreciate it! You guys have a great week!
That's a pretty handy gadget, Sasha! I can think of a lot of things to do with it, even though I'm not a very good cook.
:)) A lot of things you can just have raw... and you can fry, I bet :)) Not the healthiest way to cook, but hey, we have to enjoy the bad things too every now and then :)
My problem is that I enjoy the bad thing more often than I should :)
LOL, me too... lately :)
Sharp cutting blades, spinning vegetables, hot oil and loose billowy sleeves....I had to take a Xanax just to make it thru the video
LOL!!! I'm sorry! I understand your anxiety... However, I am not that clumsy :)) At least I try not to be :)
I got a spiralizer for Christmas and, of course, I love it. Your video is very useful too. Thanks for sharing. Not to be critical, but helpful, here's a presentation suggestion: Your accent is quite fetching, but could cause some minor misunderstandings. However, if you will go to Google/ translate and type your script in the English option you could practice certain difficult phrases and master the US pronunciation before recording it. The Google app allows you to repeat the script over and over; note the listening icon.
Thanks very much for the video. You should get a medal for it.
Thank you! I appreciate it! 😍
Hi Sasha all for the world it came spiralling out like Chinese noodles great piece of kit so easy to use...}} my mom back when i was a kid had a mincing machine very similar .. we had a massive kitchen with a equally large table mom would screw this contraption to the table give me what ever meat was on hand to shove into to the top for me to turn the handle out would come minced meat as if by magic }} well to a small country kid like me it was great to turn the handle }} memory's good old days gone for ever im afraid Sasha..... you take care now see ya }}} Edwin
What a great memory Ed! Thank you for sharing and you take care too! Best, Sasha
....wow.... sasha can turn into the hulk whenever she wants to......that spiralizer looks pretty cool , i will have to get me one......i remembered the mangos sasha , but there were only 2 left , and they did not look much like mangos....maybe next time.........
:)) Thank you Allen! You are funny! I am not sure if you have Whole Foods near you, but they always have mangos and more often than not they are on sale. Thank you for stopping by Allen! Have a wonderful week! Best, Sasha
..nope , no whole foods anywhere close to me....i live way out in the country , i just have a small town market close by ( 14 miles )....but anyway , i like my sweet potatoes baked and then lots of butter on them..but , i wonder how sweet potatoes spiralized and then steamed , then buttered would taste...my mouth is getting hungry.......see you next time , be well..
Allen, I think you are blessed to be away from civilization :) By the way, here is my sweet potato recipe - this one takes a while to make but it is SO good :) I hope you enjoy! You be well, too :))
Ops, here is the video - ua-cam.com/video/_T48ub14krY/v-deo.html
good demo but too much frying.
Thank you!
The acoustics are poor--I could hardly understand her.
The bottom line of the video is - it’s a very cool tool to have in the kitchen. I love it! My favorite are the sweet potato fries 😊
