    Thank you. There were a lot of doorways and obstacles in that area and the installation was beautiful! I'm going to be installing vinyl plank in an area with 5 doorways so I wanted to see some tips on how to cut around door jambs. This was helpful.

    I needed this vinyl glue yesterday. I am going to purchase some. Never knew they made it? Even after doing floors for 30 years. I'm always learning something on your channel.
    You have excellent videos.

    What a great video. I've just finished doing something very similar to this (Before I saw this video). All other videos show how 'easy' laying these floors are, but they conveniently don't show the 'problem' of laying in a doorway on the opposite side of where they started. Because the plank has to slide under the cut out parts at the bottom of the door jambs, it's impossible to slot in the board to the previously laid parallel board. I had to figure this out myself. Your method is great and almost identical to my method, but I actually used the normal end-of-plank join (I didn't cut a board in half). I just chipped off one side of the end join a bit so that they still slotted in together (A bit hard to explain really). Like your video at about 4:31 I started with the Right hand board on top of the left hand board and slowly tapped it across the left hand board (towards the right) until it went completely past the LH board by a mm or 2, and then tapped it back into the join.

    What if it’s a vinyl plank product with beveled edges?

    • @MrYoucandoityourself
      @MrYoucandoityourself  4 роки тому

      This floor with beveled edges too.

    • @ShaneHolly
      @ShaneHolly 3 роки тому

      Well he may be saying what if the bevel is a color.. so if you had say a light floor with beige color bevels and you cut the board and make ur own bevel with a small hand planer it won't be the same color as other bevels it will just be the dark inside plank color.

    None of these videos show how to do this when your vinyl plank flooring requires attaching it at an angle. Can’t do it like this if you have to attach it at an angle. Because you can’t get it under the trim.

    • @MrYoucandoityourself
      @MrYoucandoityourself  11 місяців тому

      All projects are different, but with an angle connection under the door jamb, you can use the same method.

      @@MrYoucandoityourself How? You can't tilt the plank at an angle when it is under the door jamb.

    Flooring that's harder to lock together at the ends of the planks isn't as easy when using this method

      Hi Geezer, read the instruction for your material. Many types of LVP need hammering the ends of planks. I did installation LVP this week - the same type of installation, I used a rubber hammer to lock the ends. Thanks!
