My first torchless run ended on a a siren fight for the focus ring on week 12, it was honestly a perfectly fine run thus far, and i was confident enough to go to the siren without antiquarian. The fight went well until i set siren at like 25% HP, then she steals my highwayman, said highwayman used pointblank shot and critically stroke my occultist setting him at death doors, the occultist then dies on the first deathblow and the whole team spirals to the end. So all in all, i agree out highwayman on the B tier where he belongs.
I actually really like how a lot of cool Heroes that aren't viable in Bloodmoon are good in torchless and vice versa. Gives you some build/playstyle variation between the different "gamemodes".
Disagree, her main gimic is speeding up the grind proces a lot, when you are on time limit Anti becomes so good and if you combine the fact that you arent going to leave dungeons with decent stress Abby and Tavern is going to take a lot of your money she also speeds up the upgrading proces of Blackmith and Guild, i trust him when he says first 10 weeks are the hardest and if you take Anti on some of these quests you get out of the early gmae much quicker
The dodge thing is interesting. It's weaker because enemy accuracy goes up, but at the same time the enemy hits way harder so dodging that is really nice as well. It's harder to do and at the same time more impactful I feel.
@@senarosu8259 Good point about the money. Tbh I didn't really factor this into my rating. In combat she is a liability though and dies even quicker due to higher crit chance.
MAA can't be in the lowest tier. Bellow is insane vs stress casters, cove lepers, 4-bandit mash, spiders and dogs, which are all awful in torchless. He is clutch for some bosses, and his guard is most welcome in the weald. His low speed allows him to carry -SPD scouting trinkets because he just bellows the enemy out of turn 2-3 anyway. Command provides early game ACC before you have trinkets. He is generally playable when surprised, and rampart can help his shuffled allies. And finally, his riposte provides additional comps with antiquarian + usefulness against Shamblers. He is a fine man.
Hey shuffle, I don't have anything particularly inciteful to say. Just saying I like scrolling through the comments and seeing likes or responses from you on nearly every single one. We notice and appreciate it. Keep it up!
Watching this as I write. I saw another video on a game release that you did, unfortunately I am not going to watch it since YT has tweaked their algorithm to where if I watch it then suddenly it becomes my favorite topic in the whole wide world and it must be available in at least two spots whenever I open YT or refresh the page. It's not you, it's them. lol
I just watched this for the 1st time and it was very helpful. I must say I did not think for a second that Vestal should be any place but A. She is the best healer of the vanilla characters. When you put her in B and was so distraught over putting her in A, I was really shocked. Yes her heals are small and ok she can't keep up with the damage input, but so? Start healing right from the start, like you tell us to do wit Occultest. Bonk Vestal in B makes perfect sense. While I am certain I know the answer, I ask just to make sure: Torchless is just running without using torches correct? It is not a download or anything else.
Yo Shuffle! I wanna ask something! First question: 'If a dude has -5 dodge, do the enemies that hit him get +5 chance to hit?' The arbalest has a single target camping skill that heals. The heal has 25% chance to heal 50% and 75% chance to heal 35%. But with the way the game works, sometimes the Arbalest heals for both instances combined and sometimes heals for neither... As explained by Shuffle. So my second question is: 'Does this also affect virtue?' Virtue is at 25% and affliction is at 75%. If I put on Hero's ring for an extra 25% virtue, does this make it 50% to virtue and 50% to afflict? Or does it become 50% virtue and 75% afflict? Its likely that I'm worrying over nothing.
Highwayman's viability in Torchless is dependent on how much Dodge you can stack on him, and how quickly. Moon Cloak is a god tier trinket for anyone in Torchless, but especially Highwayman since Riposte works on Dodges too. (also why Antiquarian and Houndmaster are similarly god-tier in my eyes as they can stack Dodge into realms of absolute absurdity for themselves or the team.) Dodge becomes so important in Torchless for the same reason Stun does; turn advantage and negating potential crits.
If you still want to do tier lists, what about a tier list of the modded classes from your modded run? S could be best balanced F tier could be most unbalanced. Or just normal S means strong.
No, the traditional way to do it is to snuff your torch at the dungeon entrance and keep it at 0 the entire time. I ran a mod that made it impossible for skills to produce light, and the only torches I brought to missions were only used for curio.
I've made a personal mod for myself that removes bloodlight, and returns the default torch to the courtyard, mostly because ive never learnt how to compile mods into the workshop. If you'd be interested in taking torchless into the courtyard, let me know and i will post it for you. Goes for anyone really, i jusy need someone to motivate me to do it lol
I started a torchless file recently and the fact that crusaders are kinda mediocre makes me very sad. I loved to have 2 crusaders spamming holy lance and stress heal in the ruins but in torchless their speed is just too slow and their stress heal can't compete with the stress dmg :(
It's really sad to see bestboy Reynauld get pretty dunked on. A neat thing is Quick Draw Charm though, I found that really helped those sniper Holy Lances put in the work in torchless which was really cool.
@@flagellantbestgirl Yeah +spd trinkets are so good. I would have given him a +acc trinket too if I could. Reynauld didn't really have a chance to shine bc he died so early in the necromancer apprentice fight, after fighting the shambler :')
I think shield breaker is B tier though because early on she is not only vulnerable to everything but also she has to deal with the nightmare which can ruin the entire run. I was just so scared to take her to a medium or long run 😓
Her nightmares only appear 7 time total 3 in normal 2 in veteran and 2 in champion, after that your shield breaker will get free buff every time you camp free of nightmare So I farming nightmare on normal map when I already finished my mission because encounter nightmare before boss is bs af as it happens before and my team at that time have no healing at all (2 anti 1 gb 1 sb throw away party) and I forced to fight a boss with 30% hp party...... Never again will I bring her on boss run until I clear all her nightmares on that difficulty
Honestly, isn't Houndmaster low-key an amazing tank? With high base dodge, a guard skill that boosts his dodge, a stun, and a heal (both normal and stress). Honestly, just give him some dodge trinkets and he should be able to dance through enemy damage. Even in torchless it feels like it should still be viable. Shame he doesn't also have a riposte.
It adds a fun endless mode which gives you more late-game content to grind towards, and for the most part it doesn't intrude on normal playthroughs like crimson court, save for the Thing from the Stars which can be avoided (only starts appearing after touching the farmstead, and the game tells you where it'll appear in each week). Worth a try if you're already invested in the game and want more (it can be enabled in an existing playthrough too)
I'm on console and I think it's great. The new bosses are fun, the new districts are amazing, and almost all the crystalize trinkets are fun, and encourage using heroes differently then I normally would
When S tier ends up B tier, you know its serious

I like the background music, brings a refined atmosphere to the proceedings
Riposte cancels any inflicted status effects if it kills the attacker and I love the idea that cutting up a dude magically makes the blight go away.
